I don't need great graphics to enjoy a game I also don't want cartoon looking graphics. PvP should not even be up there since it plays no major role in any FF game. I picked the 3 I want the most but honestly Player Interaction was right up there also but could only pick 3. I don't care if I do or don't get into beta though I just want the game to be the best it can for launch if SE needs an extra month take it to finish whatever needs to be finished just don't put out a game like we have seen recently broken from the very start.
Are you serious? Why are you playing games, if things that make a product a game aren't important to you? Lore over gameplay? Storyline over gameplay?
What are you saying? Storyline is part of game play Lore is part of game play. I picked the 3 things I want to see the most I also don't see where I said something was not important other then PvP because lets face facts FF and PvP don't go together.
So I honestly have no idea were you came up with the whole importance thing. So please explain yourself.

Would you honestly play this game if it had good lore but awful gameplay? You wouldn't play this game if it had bad lore but excellent gameplay? Think about what choices you just picked.
Why do you even play games?
Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

So my understanding is this is your first FF game? Mocking my choice for WORLD/Lore mocking my pick of Storyline meanwhile you also picked Storyline? Don't be a hypocrite I picked stuff I want to see in the game doesn't mean I don't want to see more. Again what I picked effects game play it builds it up. You honestly think I picked World Lore for only Lore? All I see coming from your post other then your picks is blasting others for their picks. So glad we live in a world were we have the right to make our own choices.

That's if you think they are just little check boxes.
The fate of the game might be decided by those boxes.
If not the fate of the whole world.
When 2012 comes and we all die, I know who to blame!
Where the hell did you see that 2012 argument. Ok seriously, you are going out of subject, the fate of the game is not involved by those check boxes. Did you see the trailer? aren't the graphics nice enough for you? Your fighting against that other guy left me speechless... Are you that much of a brainless player which only wants to kill monsters and not immerse yourself in the game. Sure, the gameplay aspects such as fighting and walking and travelling and teaming ARE crucial for a game or else it wouldn't be called a game, however, it is not the only thing that makes a game. If you are looking for a game with no storyline and no lord, then go over to Korean games out there, other than Aika.
World/Lore, Storyline, etc. Everything is also crucial to a GOOD game. When driving your car, do you only care about the motor and wheels or do you care about how comfortable you are in it and how beautiful it is from the outside? Probably, yeah. So start reading in games, and get immersed yourself.
Sorry for sounding like I was flaming, but reading your posts made me quite rage... there. As for my answers for the beta application, I hardly remember them, but I think I have put Large scale PvE battles, World/Lore and something else.

I think you got a bit carried away when you raged at me, but that post is purely for the comedic purpose, implying that let's just forget about the issue if it's getting on people's nerves .
I realize that what I'll be doing most of my playtime has to be pretty important, and I can't comprehend why it wouldn't be for just about anyone. Lore is important and all, but what keeps me hooked in the game? It's not the lore, if the gameplay is ancient and dull, that's for sure.
Nobody is saying that there shouldn't be storyline or lore, but I am saying that no sane person would put those factors ahead of gameplay (except if in the end you're looking for a graphic movie, not a game).
Almost everything in that list is crucial for a good game, but the site let you list 3 of those that you find the most important/crucial. Lore? Storyline? Do you want a good game, or a good graphic movie?
Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".
The things that made ffxi great was forced grouping, lore and community because they all tied everything together.
You would need to group to do anything and you would eventually make good friends, then with those friends you would do all the storyline quests and other stuff together and to do any of the story things you needed information from the awesome ffxi community that was comprised of people that met through forced grouping and became good friends. Without any of those 3 things people wouldn't be playing ffxi anymore and if they were still playing they wouldn't know what the hell to do.
Anyways, I think I picked something like player interaction, large PVE and story. If anything I would've checked everything because I want a good, well rounded, polished game. Why choose gameplay when it is a must have in any game? Like if nobody voted for it then SE wouldn't put in any form of gameplay that was interesting enough to keep a gamer hooked.

I thought the forced grouping was one of the worst things in FFXI. To much headaches trying to do anything that involved gathering people. Parties were hard to come by because you were down a healer or a tank. Which pretty much meant that you were going to to sit idling just waiting for a chance to find another group because soloing was worthless unless you were a Bst. Doing missions were even worse cause finding people was a pain. Then you had those players who finished ti and didnt want to do another run. Then their was the fact that the nations also hindered groups.
So much time was wasted when you think about ti especially if you were a DD whos time to play didnt meet the needs of the servers population. Sitting there seeking a group or struggling to make a group only to go way out of our way to camp to hear the mage say they had to go. I remember days of not partying because of time issues and issues with my DD job being a dime a dozen.
I had static groups for things, they would just meet up outside schedule and do things, some would just disappear for weeks on end only to show back up and leap ahead, the wost thing to do in FFXI was to mis any amoutn of time. IT became harder to find a mission run a storyline run, or just to get exp cause you were either too high for the party or too low.
Originally posted by toddze EVERYONE who picked PvP needs to be excluded from beta because if you even cared anything about ffxiv you would know theres no pvp.

See, some people just like beta tests. They probably make better testers than fans or anyone else who singles out a particular game, because if the game sucks they go right on testing. Not that individual participation means much in modern MMO betas, but who knows? Maybe it will in this case. If not, then joining a beta just because you want to try the game out is perfectly valid. Betas in which the developer doesn't communicate with the testers should be treated as free entertainment and discarded if they become dull.
I'm curious about how good a tester you would make, since you'd like to influence their testing pool even though you don't know what they want out of the test. Maybe they want people who won't get upset about how the test is conducted.
I don't remember if I knew about PvP or if I picked it to register a protest. There are games about which I want to know details before they are released or tested. This isn't one of them. Final Fantasy has been a pretty awful series for over a decade, and I don't really care what's in the damned game. I want an MMO to play in my living room. I don't know anything about Dust 514 either. And I still don't know if FFXIV has PvP.

i think people got a bit too out of hand. The games already mostly done, so those check boxes won't mean much....they arent going to change the whole entire game just becuase a lot of people checked PVP. The only thing that could do is show them people would like some form of PVP and then they will maybe put out some sort of PVP type event out sooner then later.

This might usually be the case but not for a Square Enix game, you won't need to test anything,Square does not make mistakes unlike these other developers.
They might down the road make some combat tweaks, but in my experience with Square they do not take any feedback from NA's,they seem to get all their feedback from a VERY small core of friends or inside workers.
A perfect example was i told Square about EQ2's Mentor system years before they finally adopted it,so they definitely do not listen to us over here.We cried about the bot fishers for years and they did nothing ,then all of a sudden out of nowhere they introduced some system that NOBODY told them to do,it was strictly there own doing,so i would say Square does not listen to players feedback at all, unless it is VERY minute, something they can address with very little effort.
Personally i do not like player feedback, past experience has shown me players are selfish, they NEVER care about the better of the game, only what is good for them.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

But there is one thing that I kinda wish they had in FFXI was open world PvP. Did you ever encounter a bunch of ass hats that decided to camp in the exact same spot and try and take all your pulls? I have and this is where I just wanted to pvp someone but couldn't, there was nothing we could do but move which sucks because while we were there first these bastards invaded and we tried to talk but they said they weren't going.

Well I had to pick three.
