arent we overlooking the real issue here? sure zyuu/awake is scum that should be incinerated in a hollocaust oven, but what about all the scrubs that were paying $100 for beta keys from a place that wont ever have any to give out, we need to make sure theyre all removed from the gene pool as well!
ps im not trolling, i just hate stupid people with a passion.
they should be kicked, but i put more blame on the admin. he is a payed person who is supposed to be responcible for that site.
I see it like RMT and people who buy gil. If the RMT are removed, beign the ones who create the need by camping over people and raising prices then there would be almost no need for buying.
Zyuu, as he currently calls himself, used to be in a big WoW guild, Nihilum. Back then he went by the handle "Awake". It turns out he got kicked out eventually for, guess what, selling gold ads on the guild's website and pocketing the money. Did Curse know he had that kind of history when they bought FFXIVCore? Google search Awake and Nihilum to see for yourself.
I have to ask...but how do you know he's Awake? I know Zyuu is a former member of Nihilum....but how are you certain he's Awake?
*Edit
Oh, nvm, the proof was already posted at FFXIVCore before it was deleted.
Ahh lets not over react.. If his employers and community members can let him go with a sharp telling off and a smacked hand, then fine, so should we. Who cares? This isnt like Clinton getting blown in the Whitehouse... It's not like any 'normal' members outside of a small clique ever gonna get to see beta keys from any fansite anyhow. The whole issue dosent even effect 99.9% of users or their reality of getting into the beta from this site.
At least Clinton got a blow job out of the deal--the guys who were going to give $$ for beta over at FFXIV Core aren't getting jack shit.
I'm really surprised at the people saying, "This is no big deal." How is it not a big deal when a community leader (he's the site owner, or was before Curse bought them out, or whatever their involvement is) is trying to take money from his community members for something he doesn't even actually have? I mean, he says right in that screenshot that he wants $100, and that he doesn't want to hear anything about "when do you get beta?" It's like, "I'll put you on my list, no guarantees, but give me your dead presidents."
Seriously, the people who see this as nothing amaze me. To me, a total lack of integrity is not "nothing."
lol calm down, thats not what I am saying at all.
I am not saying what he did was right or good, I am saying that it is between him and his employer and dosent effect 99.9% of the members of the Core site anyhow.
These keys would only have been seen by a tiny clique of his staff and 'chosen' anyhow, the vast bulk of normal members would have never had a chance. Thats how these sites that get keys work.
As for the guys who paid $100... lol @ them for trying to jump the queue. I am glad it cost them.
Now people are also finding out that he was an admin for some WoW sponcered guild that he abused his power with, apprently selling gold and taking advantage of in game items and such.
Sadly the loyal fans will ignore this and try and protect the guy like he has done somthing minor.

The people who paid the $100 should be exposed because they are more than likely to buy gold if they are paying $100 for beta. It is ashamed that people have to scam others like that. If the dude on Aion source can get fired for some spoiler pictures Zyuu should get fired and sued for this.
I just read close to 11 pages of comments about his "mistake" on FFXICore. I was really disappointed at how many people forgave him outright and defended him for coming clean. Here was my response:

Wow, I'm shocked at the number of people applauding his "coming clean" without addressing the fact that he came clean after some people became aware of what was happening.
There are two reasons I come to this site. One, I enjoy the community and respect(ed) the administrators. Two, it provides information on a game i'm looking forward to. But if his actions will create a strain between SE and this site so that they are no longer privy to insider information, it essentially destroys two of the reasons for coming here.
If I don't trust this site, why should I support it by posting and/or donating?
I'm an attorney by profession. If he attempted to sell beta keys, knowing that he did not have them, or would not have them, that is the definition of fraud. Alternatively, if he attempted to sell beta keys, and had access to information that the site would be recieving keys from SE, then he betrayed the trust of the community members.
Either way, this is one of the most serious "mistakes" I've seen an administrator make. If Curse can fire someone for releasing screen shots of a not yet released game, this is a fire-able offense under any standard.
The fact that Curse is only placing him on temporary probation, is as much a reflection on Curse's values as it is Zyuu's.

Oh, yeah, okay...I misunderstood. If only a few select people are affected by the underhanded shit you're pulling, that makes it perfectly acceptable. I keep forgetting that's how it works.
See, there's a snowball affect to all this. Zyuu not only tarnished his own reputation, but he tarnished the reputation of Core and, by association, Curse. He affected their relationship with Square Enix, too. Do you think they're going to be falling all over themselves trying to give Core beta keys or other exclusives now? Maybe they will, if they realize that this was just one asshat acting on his own greedy self-interests, but...maybe they won't.
The thing with pulling scams like this one is that it usually doesn't affect just one person. Eventually, it affects a bunch of people.
And yeah, anyone who'd pay $100 for a beta key, outside of buying a collector's edition box or something, is a fool. Anyone who'd offer to buy one knowing that he was dealing under the table in some sort of shady business transaction is an idiot. (Although I think the guy from the screenshot was trying to bait Zyuu so he could out him, not actually buy a key...but who knows?)

No, what i said is that it wouldnt have effected anyone but his employers and close 'friends', so let them sort it out with him. It's their issue, not yours or mine.
There really no need for public widspread histrionics.

It's amazing how Zyuu is trying to make it sound like he's the victim here. How arrogant can a guy get?

i just hope he stop spamming the forums
Why would they talk about that shit on message boards anyway? That's just dumb.
