in Fallen Earth
It is a huge disapointment..... Scenario perfect but FA is much far away from being a game. Theres lots of things that waiting to fix.
- No gravity engine
- Stupid fall damages its normaly 14 dmg if u fall if u jump it takes 60-70
- Game needs interesting System Specs that its not deserve
- Very very Bad graphics
- Poor City Design
- Unnecessary Coalision objects on the road
- At low Resulution like 800x600 or 1024x768 Still Tearing on Ati x1700(512), Intel T7200 2Ghz Core to DUO CPUz
- Games Updater is a Crap, I have to Download it from forums.
- And its like 5gb :S
- Wicked horse(mount) Control
- Poor Combat system , Im fighting with a Plant i dont remeber its name but it hits me from 20 yards n 2 Acid Dmg (10 DPS) WTF its a plant right??!!? Whats that Botanical killer's Attack speed man? %200?!?!?
- I can get in a Apartment with horse but i cant get out why? Couse Im stuck in there... Why ? Corridor is too tight... Do something like auto dismount.
- Useless Mount riding animation... (when u click horse to ride) Cut it out man its just waste of time...
- i think after the 30 lvl if u a good melee you can kill a guy with Rocket Launcher.... Nice Realistic...
- One more Thing If u dismount on a cliff Look at your horse.... Ewww My horse is a creepy wall climber....
After all its eat my Bandwith with downloads for 2 days (4 times tryed to download) it keeps me playing for 2 hours.
Just One thing..... Scenario is good but far far away from being a game.... Thx for the 10 days trial....

Maybe its not enough play time to judge this game but i have disapointed. Thats not your concern. These are just my Comments. So You can just Agree with me or you can select opposite choices. and theres no need to be such offensive.
-I'm pretty sure if you jump up or fall off a cliff you go down.
-Did you jump off said cliff...even at 1you can survive 60 dmg.
-System specs are fine.
-Get a better system and put everything on max settings.
-It's a wasteland and the human race is trying to pick itself up.
-I'm pretty sure if you run into a car in RL it will stop you.
-Yep, get a better computer.
-DL'd fine for me.

Fantastic reply to the OP, but....I'm concerned about your exposure to either the plague or radiation, because the sheer fact that you could decipher enough OF the original post to be ABLE to respond....is somewhat....freakish. O.o
Perhaps you've had a few too many spider licks from Spider Hill and it has imparted some spider-vision or something to you that is causing this odd power......
I suggest you check back in at the command post or go to a LifeNet Center immediately for a complete physical and diagnosis before you end up infecting the rest of us. Until I hear back from you on your health report....I will not be posting next to you for fear of contamination. I have donned a gas mask and protective gear in the meantime, to allow me to make THIS post safely, though I have some trepidation regarding its effectiveness, and therefore will not risk posting again until I know you have a clean bill of health.

Don't know what game the OP played but I've only had two issues with FE.
The Mount/Buggy driving sucks ass and repairing gear is moronic in a 100% full crafting game with no item looting.
Those two issues have kept FE off my harddrive after the first free month.
I had no issues with overall game design, stability or things like combat/graphics.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP

Actually... After reading the OPs post, I'm tempted to try the game.
Usually when someone does such a horrible job bashing a game I get interest. Dunno why.

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.
A lot of what this "review" bypasses would be recommended system specs, level of character, and overall a basic knowledge of playing most MMOs. I've seen this here a lot, I've also seen this on other forums where you get someone who plays these free games, or comes from WoW with extremely low system specs and a simplistic gameplay style and then they completely trash games like FE or EvE simply because they just don't get it.
Falling damage can be much higher than 60, it depends where you're jumping from... if you go around jumping off cliffs you get what you deserve. A level 30 will always beat a level... (probably 3 is as far as you got for only playing 4 hours). A plant will destroy you quickly if you are weak to poison (you didn't take poison resistance) and can't cure yourself (no poison cures?). Most everything else is due to the OPs really old system or misapprehensions about where they can go with a horse.

This game wasn't designed to have FFA PvP/Looting and it never will. There is however a nice item decay system coming in and item enhancement.

Im just saying you should have a system in place that lets you lose items (Decay is perfect). Would make sense for the in game economy. Repairing hurts that.
Thanks for the info though I had no idea they were changing the game so items actually break. What are they doing with repair kits?

I don't think a lot of specifics are out about this just yet, but my guess would be you can repair an item a few times before it gets to the point it has to be replaced.
If you think about that it makes sense. You can only fix something so many times before it essentially becomes unrepairable.
That's my hope anyways. I agree it will be a nice addition to the game and help spur the in game economy and crafting a bit more.

If someone can find a transcript of the Massively Speaking podcast interview Lee Hammock did several weeks ago, he outlines what they are trying to do with the item decay and item enhancement systems. I totally agree that FE needs some form of item obsoletion or degradation to make crafting and the game economy more viable and meaningful, and trust me when I say that what Lee described sounded like just what the doctor ordered... it takes items out of the system in a way that is reasonable to the user and keeps them flowing out of the system at a rate fast enough to sustain crafting. Basically it boils down to things can only be repaired a certain amount of times before the item cannot be repaired anymore and becomes useless.

I agree with the strange collision issues (more with a vehicle than a horse), but those will probably get ironed out. Also, quit taking your damn horse inside, it annoys everybody else and when it gets stuck, have it towed. I don't mind the animation, I just wish it would go while the cast timer was counting down instead of after.

Have to agree with the rest of the people here OP.
It sounds as if your computer is not set up well to run Fallen Earth. I have a box I play FE on that is well below the minimum specs but I have no issues playing it on medium settings.
I would make some recommendations to you on how to optimize your comp, but somehow I get the feeling you aren't really interested.
Good luck in whatever game you go to next.

And what is game-breaking about a mount animation, having to fight against plants that are actually a challenge or not being able to take your mounts in-doors? Or about being hurt when falling off a cliff (don't try it in real life, kiddos!)
hehe.. I remember running around LoTRO JUST to find cliffs to jump from! Evendim had a few good ones, Misty Mountains is a favorite for this sport, and the tall tall mountain pass where the party has to turn back (forget the name) is what us cliff jumpers dream about.
Point of this being if I jump off a cliff in LoTRO, there is a VERY good chance I am not going to survive. I don't see why it would be any different here.

Taking a stab in the dark here but I think his issue has to do with the physics engine. That is the only thing I can think of that would have to with a gravity engine. Some games don't have jumping because it isn't honestly needed in their design. Others because the devs got lazy/didn't feel like it/enter other excuse here.

What it appears to me is something similar to what is happening in the Darkfall Online area. some gamers complain about aspects not in the game without mentioning the small detail that such aspects also dont exist in other games of same meta type.
its kind of fun to watch.
