Earth rise seems to be much more sci-fi oriented than xyson, and a little more PVP oriented I think. I hope they can both prosper because the development studios seem to be really good guys.

I'm still not convinced Xsyon isn't a scam. It smells like a new Dark and Light to me.

Agreed, the screens look awful and the website looks like it was made by a child.

It's way too early to be portraying Xsyon as competition to Earthrise. IMO, Earthrise looks better visually and we know it's had a lot of dev time put into it. Xsyon is just a laundry list of features with some not-so-hot screens that just popped onto the scene.
That said, I hope both deliver on their promises.

Hm Xsyon looks like it's stone age like low tech, whereas earthrise is high tech sci-fi.. can't really compare the 2 genres
Xsyon might be considered competition for Mortal Online though
IMO: Xsyon wouldn't be able to touch Earthrise.
There is nothing wrong with Darkfall.
I dont see any other mmo offering the substance this game claims to so no, its no competition. they arent even in the same ball park.
ER will be the better competition for the players in PvP and crafting for sure xD

Graphics aren't everything, if Xsyon is real and boasts the features it is intended to, I feel it will be a much better game than FE, and I feel FE is a very good game.

What??? sorry but the game you mentioned looks like Darkfall in futuristic settings. I will stick to Earthrise. Don't be surprised if the other MMO just disappears from radar in few months.
I guess I'll stay with Earthrise, see YouTube for "Roma Victor" if you want to see what the guys that are making Xsyon did before. I tried to play that, it sounded nice but was horrible indeed and they let me pay for their alpha version...
Earthrise has great ideas, and looks really nice. Hopefully they used their 6 months additional development time to put action in the combat. But they aren't stupid, are they?
Fallen Earth story is at 2053 or 2054 still it's like walking around in Cowboy Western. The population is low and most of the players are in the 40's or so.
I'm not sure that game will make it to 2011. It can stay alive if they make it F2P.
Earthrise will do better I think. SS are not the best here, but I'm sure it will look great. Just by looking at the light effects and armor it sure look real nice. Monsters also look great.
If the combat is fun then it will kick Fallen Earth butt.
I also think the younger generation of players will enjoy this game more then Fallen Earth. So more population, more money, better for the game.
Not like Fallen Earth that are now giving away 4000 keys just after soon 6 months.

You are not sure that game will make it to 2011? oreally? well i am quite sure it will and that also on P2P model. I guess that balance out things.
The more open ended sandboxy games the better. I welcome all of them MO, ER, Xsyon and the other low budget indy sandbox games like Dawntide, Link realms.

Is it really? I loved Neocron. It would have been awesome if it just had,. you know.. worked. I still loved it though. Best atmosphere I've ever experienced in any MMO, awesome crafting system and great innovation and content ambition.
These games are nothing alike. Completely ignoring the fact that one is essentially sci-fi and one is more of a post apocalyptic modern day setting, visually, they're worlds apart, they have completely different focuses, (Earth Rise being considerably more RvR/PvP oriented) and have completely differing feature sets. I seriously doubt anyone that's looking forward to Xyson is equally interested in Earthrise, let alone a statistically significant number of people.
edit: I hope it's not like Neocron. That game was a trainwreck. Concepts were good, so I don't mind it its like that in respect of gameplay, but in actual practice....*shudder*

I see some of that too. It'll be interesting to follow the checks and balances between the more sandboxy games coming. I see ER as more colorful, scifi-ish, and RvR contained and centric, and see Xsyon as more post-apocolytic, earthy tones, and open-world consequential pvp with a broad emphasis on building.
I dont know where you guys are getting this idea that earthrise is going to be rvr pvp because you dont have to join the continoma or the noir you can be independant if you want to
