Simple... Because its an FFA PvP game & ,as such, it attracks that kind of crowd.
They like their PvP in games as well as in forums.
ALL fanboys are like this, not just PvP fans.
Also another reason is because many of them probably believe they're defending the last hopes for the MMO industry, the only companies trying to do something different. But they are foolishly worshipping Starvault instead of much better indie companies trying to fix a dead genre, like Darkfall or Fallen Earth.
We dont want to support fallen earth because since they launched, they kind of wanted to be like wow with their type of questing and other stuff. You cant full loot a dead player and you cant pvp every where. So this game is not for us.

Yes, i talk about the grind. They dont reduce it at all. Stats grind is horrible. even after a year, you are far from being a veteran pker. To boost your character, you have to AFK grind(No joke) AFK swimming, mining to raise STR VIT and HP. You have to AFK macro self buffing, heal and spamming magic in the air.

Me, i stopped defending MO. I believe we are enough to support MO at release and if not, i believe some DF players will add a huge boost to the MO sub number.
Im having fun in the game and i dont care for the lack of content and other stuff. By lack of content, do you guys mean lack of quests? Well without quest, i have more fun because i feel like i can do anything i want from the start. This is what a sandbox had always been intended to be. I interact with everyone i cross in game while traveling. With the chat bubble system, all players can see when i post something. they stop by and answer my question or simply socialize with me. I play solo and im still having fun. At launch, i will join a small mercenary type guild.
Most of you guys who hate MO today are the same person who would hate UO back in the days for sure. I never played UO, in faq, my 1st mmorpg was wow and still, i like MO more then any other mmorpg's out there.
I know desync lag is a big problem, but this is currently the only thing i have hope for to get fixed. Without that problem, the game is perfect to me. Other stuff to improve and add, i could wait for that aslong that the desync lag get fixed.
The real reason on why i like MO so much, grind is almost none existent or is either a choice. If you want to grind in MO, you simply become a crafter and your grind will be endless. If you dont want any grind, you join a large clan and they can make gears for you every time you die. Im planning to be a red pker too. So once i die as a red player, i may lose 10% stats, but i heard from the others that regaining our stats back dont take long. Its just a cooldown to prevent the red pkers from going back every time after they die.
I would expect that skill gain (regain in the case of a red) will take longer after release. I have not been in very many betas where the XP or skill gain was greatly reduced quitly within the first week of launch.
I agree that the game doesn't need to be a grind - but that might not be as true depending on if and how much they adjust gains.
I generally see this kind of reaction to threads that don't insult or criticize just a game but attack the people that actually like it. Everyone has seen threads that blast WoW for its community then get all bent out of shape when gamers that play WoW blast back. I respect a negative review or even a simple negative post that makes its point without making it a personal attack on others that may have a different opinion.
Anytime the poster resorts to calling someone a fanboi or troll it means they have nothing relevant to say and should just be ignored.

Well here's where you're wrong.
The last Darkfall patch had 4 huge fixes that the community was begging for.
And the grind was already reduced. Magic levels up 6x faster.
LOL @ stat grind. Stats don't even matter except for vitality, and don't spend all your time swimming against a wall then complain its boring when you can level it by playing the game instead.
I generally see this kind of reaction to threads that don't insult or criticize just a game but attack the people that actually like it. Gahaha, we like to stick our ass on other peoples faces. It's called social competition and self promotion, just like how some kids liked to bully others during school. It doesn't matter how they sound, they only need to get themselves heard humiliating or not. Just like how I've been backstabbed numerous times by acquiantances. The more we react, the funnier it is.
Hey wtf, I am gonna give this game a go anyway although all these posts about how much it stinks. It's free, it's a ffa game, something I'd wanted to try for a long time although I skipped Darkfall. I just hope the community doesn't only exist of rabid fanbois, they never looked good in my eyes as much as the trolls.

You think the Phan Bois are bad in MO check out the STO Phan Bois they take the insanity to a whole new level. I truly belive most of the Phan Bois in the STO official forum do not even play the game they sit on the forums day and night fighting anybody with any type of critism. Insanity at its best.

Last I checked, WoW has 2 small cities where you can't be killed by the other faction...anywhere else is contested. (disregarding newbie areas)

I think doing reviews dirung beta is a bit strange wether close to release or not. They should at least be called previews.
I have to say as well that most of the reviews have seemed very amaturish. The language is subjective and there usually seems to be an obvious slant.
