I think this game will actually take the Guild wars-Runescape way. come to think of it Because they said cash shops
and subscription fees are not mandatory. this isn't thisame as saying that they will not be in the game. i think they will be a second option to improve your gamplay but this will make other players unlucky because they can't pay the sub or don't want to go in cash shops. That will make so people unhappy. if APB does take this route it is making its own noose and jumping. The game is no SWOTR , FF14 and GW2. it is not a very open universe with as much things to do. SWOTR, FF and GW2 are bigger in options of things to do but they cost less to play if this is the style of pay APB will take. I'am pretty sure most people would like a free world that has more to do and more to experience for less of a price than what APB will offer if they take this option to take a GW-Runescape-classical F2P approach.
It's already been confirmed by Real Time Worlds that APB is going with the traditional monthly subscription, as mentioned in their Q&A Podcast on YouTube. I feel subscription games are a much more ensurable way you get the bang for your buck, plus if everyone is paying the same amount of money, it is ensured that the company you subscribed to will put out expansions and updates capable of enhancing your game play experience. Cash Shops only show who has the deepest pocket of money for video games in general, subscriptions puts everyone on an equal level, nobody has an advantage by money, but by spending your time in the game.

Thats strange because on the APB website I get this:
11. How much will APB cost?
The game will be available as a full-price PC title. We'll offer you flexibility on ongoing costs to guarantee great value - APB won't require a subscription commitment, nor will it rely on traditional micro-transaction offerings.

Just because a subscription is not "required" does not mean it wont be an available option. And what the hell does "traditional" really mean in reference to cash shops?
If the game is good, it will become popular regardless of whether its P2P or F2P or a mixture of both.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
They will most definitely make it so they get money out of it big time. They need it for both the personal reasons but the bigger reason is they need to do a lot of server tech upgrades. I'm not sure if we're bound under the NDA as much or not but saying that it was more on the laggy side of things doesn't seem like a breach.

If its not required then it won't really be P2P. Like DDO is F2P but you *can* pay monthly if you want for additional perks. They aren't using it as the main revenue generating model if it isn't required to subscribe like current P2P games.
Well, you can call it whatever you want. I will most likely be using a subscription model if they have one, because I plan on playing a lot and would like to have as many customization options as possible right out the door.

pay 2 play - as above...also p2p is cheaper than f2p anyways..
Yh Yh Yh. u didn't read properly WOW costs around £178 and GW just costs u £15- £50mattering if u buy things. The things cost low amount and are not rented. They stay with u foreverbut the makeover thing on GW is 1 time use but u would need to buy it like 20 times to be close to the price of WoW. Plus most P2Ps are cheaper than P2Ps. do your research first dude.
GW 1 yr- £50
WoW 1 year- around £178
GW 2 yr- £50
WoW 2 yr- £356
GW 3 yr- £50
WoW- 3 yr- £534
Get the point?
lol , guild wars with all expansions doesnt even last a year , the longest it can last is 6 months if you are a fan of that horrible horrible game ... also for wow you pay for quality game not some kinda singleplayer asian grindfest !
What a stupid response. OBVIOUSLY that is not true at all.
Guild Wars is a GREAT series that proved it could work.

I really, really, hope you're being sarcastic. If not, what kind of schooling did you attend?

Legends live on forever.
It says we just aren't allowed to talk about gameplay or produce gameplay footage or stuff like that.
