Funcom has announced a firm release date for Age of Conan's upcoming Rise of the Godslayer expansion, and it's sooner than you may think! Rise of the Godslayer will be available both at retail and via digital distribution on May 11th!
As we reported earlier, the retail version of Rise of the Godslayer will pack in the full original game as well as a number of exclusive in-game items, including a Tamed Puma social pet.

Damnint... Now I have to resub to AoC... If it were coming out 6 months from now I could probably say I was playing a different game and not have to buy the expansion...

Yep, unfortunately they still haven't announced the class options for the Khitans, which has been holding me from resubbing and making use of my free level 50 for...well, however long its been since they opened up the one-time free level 50 toon system =P

Is Funcom rushing to release ....again?

Is it bad that, when I read the title of this news article, I thought, "Wow. It's dated, and it hasn't even been released yet? That's bad."
Well it would certainly shut up the 'But they've changed' crowd, but I sincerely hope this isn't the case.

Nice, thats earlier then i tought. Dont play AoC anymore but still keep an eye out on it, aswell as all the other MMO's ive played. Nothing to play these days, AoC looks like its getting real good, it was good at release aswell imo but lacked content. But the instancing and split zones really turns me off AoC, if it had a seamless world i would totally resub again with the expansion, its a really huge immersion breaker for me. Dosent feel like a "world" and thats one of the things i REALLY like about MMO's
Lets hope not, but this expansion has been in development since prolly before release, i remember they said when they released that they split their team in half, one part to work on content patches and the other on the expansion. so it has had a good amount of development time i guess.

Anyone know if there will be 30 days of playtime in the retail/exp deal? Or will I need to resub my old char?

From what i read there are 30 days of free play time with the Xpac . Its a shame if it is indeed true that the new race still starts at Tortage AoC desperatly needs a second starting area . Other than that I like what I'm hearing and it may be worth a look in a few months time.

Open beta for Cataclysm is likely to start on the 20th-25th of May. Funcom is yet again aiming it hit the right release window instead of actually sending out a finished product.
Just came back from the ROTGS website and it isn't compatable with Firefox... Video windows to small and show scrollers. There is still the same unprofessonal work going on there.
And regarding Massively. I post about alot of games there. It is not my fault that AOC launched in the state it did. Neither is it myh fault that Massivly is picking crappy screentshots when there are plenty of nice ones from within the game. - Aparently..

The funny thing is a lot of things aren't compatible with Firefox, and when I went there on Opera, Google Chrome, and even Internet Explorer not once did I have scrolling bar on the side. Also, honestly I did not think the screenshots were crappy. You can hate on the game all you want, but until you have tried the expansion don't comment on it and say it is crap. You just sound like an uninformed hater who is just hating for the sake of it. Funcom is not stupid and they are not about to release an unfinished product, just cause they had a bad launch does not mean they are about to FUBAR once more and ruin the game they spent 2 years fixing. Just saying.
Maybe more ppl should wait and see about this expansion ? What are you commenting about ? You got any proofs showing its actually ready ? Last time around FUncom said AOC was just in "polishing state" 1 year before the orginal launch.
I recomend that everyone breath slowly and realise that PR is PR - and the best thing to do with this expansion is to wait 6 months until it has acutally been tested. Maybe this time Funcom will be able to fix the issues in few months instead of few years.
Mi m8 try following you own advise and whate and se. Most people is exited and do not try to say the expantion is going to be bugg free. There will be buggs, and currentl they have some issues with some bosses with they are working on. Most of the game will be bugg free, and those who can handel a few problem resub in a few months. 7des allmost 5 months ago Funcom showed 1hour video of the game with Beta player testing for buggs. (most of these players where not hired to work for Funcom, as they say in the video, shown live on xfire).
