i had a blast playing this game. Before i got it i was a huge fan of shooters and MMOs, and when i found this one it just blew my mind away. Hands down it was one of the best MMOs i very much enjoyed, very sad they shut it down
Everytime I think about it, I miss it. I really wish they would have tried f2p before pulling the plug. And now, I wish someone would figure out a source to open a private server.
It rocked my metaphorical socks. It was kinda like an underdeveloped/underfunded borderlands. Wish this game would have had that bit more to it when it launched and a bit more drive to improve after launch, then I could still be shooting stuff with mah buddies!
I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high And then I'll rise with the tide with a lust for life, I'll Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore

I do. And i thought it was an excellent game at what it did. wth was wrong withthe game anyway? It should be considered for a restart. Look at ddo. It needed a new bump in its marketing campaign and also a change in pay method and now its flourishing. I consider TR to have the same potential.

Tabula Rasas biggest problem was the game after level 30 was weak. Not to mention the overall gameplay allowed for an army of one to demolish the bane like they were not there. Amazing how a group that drove us off of Earth could be killed in mass numbers by any soldier in the game.
TR should get rereleased, but not until it spends another year in beta getting fixed and built right. It could have been an awesome wargame ona massive scale if done right. It was not. Mayhbe if RG wins his lawsuit and gets the rights to the game he can polish it the way it needs to be. Otherwise it is where it belongs.

If it was to end up being the same ol game, it need's to stay dead. Content overall was weak, the community was poor, and the dev's didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
I really enjoyed Tabula Rasa. Despite its flaws, it did do some things right, and to me it was fun to play. It was cancelled too early. The things that players were complaining about could have been fixed. It wasn't like Warhammer Online, where to fix the game its core had to be changed (which is a big no - no, I am looking at you SOE).
I am hoping some company picks this up again, like Gods & Heroes has been brought back to life. Sometimes, as with Saga of Ryzom, the new owners/devs can actually improve the game. The problem is that many players will have already written the game off.
I really enjoyed the open world PvP in this game. The Clan vs Clan option rocked. I remember teleporting into town and a couple reds were on the radar in the med center, naturally I had to fight them both off with my Guardian, made for some really funtimes.
TO me the PvP in TR was poorly implemented at best and completely against the story of the game. Mankind fighting for its very survival and against itself to appease the PvPers. Mankind was supposed to be fighting for its right to exist. Not to mention the many skills that were borked in PvP.
It could have had a good PvP system, it needed work to get there though.
I feel exactly the same way. PVP MADE NO SENSE IN TR because mankind was fighting for survival. What should have been done was allowing players to PLAY BANE CHARACTERS. Then the PVP would "been on" full throttle. I for one would have loved to play a Linker Them damn Linkers used to fry my a@@ good.
Anyway, I do miss TR, even though I fought enough about it. The thing I love about SciFi MMOs is the sheer amount of potential they bring to the table. TR had some brilliant ideas, great NPC and mob AI and some kickass combat and music.
Lack of endgame, progression, no need to group, lack of epic gear (I do not like looking the same from lvl one to max lvl), no storyline development, lack of meaningful crafting, no territoral control, no raids....the list goes on, TR was missing too many things that keep gamers interested. Its a shame though, it will always represent for me a missed opportunity.

Hey Broomy long time no see. You and I always seemed to feel the same about TR. Sadly while the game was still live we were ignored.

Heya Rokurgepta,
Indeed we did share alot of the same opinions about TR and all the arguing and suggestions we made fell on deaf ears. I may also add that TR lacked an official forum site, and I beleive this hurt the game immensely. The only forum that were available was a certain community (Planet TR) that had a bunch of carebears that didnt want the game to evolve. I still partially blame them for TRs demise.

When I think about how they moderated and treated people on that board I have to agree with you they were part of the problem.
Little story to show the way they treated people. They banned a player for continual foul language and bad behaviour. He made a new name and started attacking all my posts with curses and insults, and when the mods realized who it was they reinstated his old account. Planet TR banned me soon after. Not because I broke the rules, but because they said my posts caused others to respond with hate to me. Since the haters were their friends and guildies I got banned instead. Sadly these were the officially unofficial forums for the games. As you know TR devs went and posted there and it was a mess.
I miss it... and sadly I regret throwing away my collectors edtion in anger.
Oh well I can pick up another for $5 from Amazon if RG does get the rights to it.
Speaking of raids... I always though a cool raid would have been for a large group to hold a fort with a HUGE onslaught of bane, bane Generals, and Bane creatures we hadnt see before.

Thats the kind of fights TR was missing at higher levels. A few of those would have went a long way.
Its a shame they did'nt try something akin to DDOs hybrid f2play/subscription model before junking it . I think it could have been a success like that . I did'nt play it a lot but from what I saw it was quite a bit of fun .

Tabula Rasa underfunded? Seriously?
I'd think Earthrise would be a decent replacement for TR, as it's offering more, but within a similar SciFi package.
I do.
I am hoping Planetside 2 ends up being a reality myself.
I miss it /cry.

Working on it

I actually liked Tabula Rasa. They should bring it back. May need some work but very much worth bringing back.
Of course it needs work, lots of it. If it did not need work it would not have been canned like it was.
I thought about this. Tabula Rasa is to return, packaged as Earthrise. Fear not, my people.

I miss the Tabula Rasa that was promised, but not the one that was delivered. I miss Asherons Call 2 a lot more, however.
