Station launcher will try again after 30 seconds."
I know it's useless to post this here but any of you happens to know how to fix this? I think I have better chances to receive an answer here than in the official forums (posted there too though)
Tried everything and I have day off today.. I WANT PLAY!!!

You could try doing a full scan to replace any files you might be missing. Other than a reinstall that's all I can suggest, sorry
Tried to reinstall, disable uac, run in "xp mode", reinstall station launcher. Well, tried pretty much everything :'(
If you're on Vista or 7, I'd recommend changing the install location(move what's already downloaded and go on from there).
If you're on XP, seems like a corrupted files problem, delete the lp_temp /.../Animations folder that contains the nominated file, and retry updating.
Good luck !
Have you tried deleting the file it's having issues with before re-scanning? Also check that the folder isn't protected in any way.
Edit: bah, what he said

Already tried, and also I don't even have the file it complains about.
I have uninstalled whole game and tried to start again, still the problem persists.
Is the error identical each time? How much spare drive space is there on the install drive? Are you running W7?

Identical each time, yes. Little over 60 gigas, windows vista.
Completely uninstall the game. Make sure the directory trees are gone as well. Reboot. Defrag. Try again. It could be a bad sector on your harddrive that the game keeps trying to install to. If you completely delete all traces of the game and defrag, it'll allow the game to install to a different physical location on the drive.
Just a suggestion. I've had this problem with other games before, and that seemed to do the trick. Took a long time with a nearly full terabyte drive, but...

Well, I've uninstalled the game for 4 times now and always changed the install directory and deleted the remaining folders/files.
Defragging my computer would take easily over 10hours I think /
EDIT: By the way does anyone know if there would be alternative download for Vanguard?
Hmm... Well, you might try asking on the official forums. If anyone would know, the people holding down the fort there would.

Already done 2hours ago no answer yet. I also have tried to contact support but I have to wait like 10hours for it too
Well, no Vanguard for today.. and I had a day off :'(
1. make a games directory off the root of the drive of choice (using c: as a example c:games)
2. under that games diretory make another called VG (again using c: as a example c:gamesVG)
3. modify the preferences on station launcher to point the VG directory to gamesVG
Now try downloading
This seemed to work for other people with the same issue. No idea why? Although the support guy said it has something to do with the permissions to the folder in use, redirecting just bypasses that.

Done already, it always downloads to 7.43GB and throws the error. :'((
I got same problem, ...
I tried to change permissions in folder, so far without any succes
EDIT: can anyone that is playing full version upload that file:
Vanguardlp_tempAssetsCharactersAnimationsUEA_ettercap_M_advn.uea.gz
Maybe if we already got it, it would work ...
bump
I'm at work and can't check but I'm pretty sure those files are compressed, oncethey have been decompressed and installed they are delted by the launcher.

ouch... that's bad news I guess :'(
well, maybe if someone could just check, ...
It's 30s of work...
And if files are still on computer, they are pretty small, all other files in that folder are just couple of kb in size, so it's not big thing to ask, since on official forums, there is still no answer ...
I installed VG from DVD last week. The patch to today is no where near 7GB, what installer are you using?
Downloading whole game from the station launcher.. Those gigas are something that was already on your dvd.
I think we'r both using sony station, I already posted this problem on station support forums, but again, no answer.
5½ hours and I can contact technical support.
Maybe we should just contact their sale department and demand refund,...
Game is €10 on steam, so if they refund us, we won't have to deal with their stupid station crap.
Did you try to launch the game directly, and not using station launcher?
Well, the steam installs the station launcher, I have bought Everquest 2 from steam. Also, I'm pretty sure it gets fixed when the support opens..
