Game 3 will be the same engine as CO and STO, just reskined. EPIC FAIL in my opinion.. I didn't spend one dime on STO (thanks to my good judgement) and because of the pooch job on STO, I won't even consider game 3.. Until I see many chief execs get their pink slips to unemployment, I'll boycott all Cryptic games
BioWare and Atari still have their claws in the IP
It might be something to rival TSW
Atari bought Cryptic. I think this is the main reason for them doing so. They own the IP (they probably had to pay EA a lot of money to pay for the part the bioware owned) so it's only natural that they will have cryptic make the title. Sadly though since they are the ones making it, it will be shallow, incomplete, and rushed to market just like all of their other projects. I'll pass.
I'm much more excited over the harry potter mmo by turbine. At least they know how to make good games.
I wonder how aware Cryptic is in regards to their trust level with the general MMO population. They're like the laughing stock of the industry right now and I wonder if they are really going to find an honest way to climb out of the hole they dug themselves with their last 2 escapades. I guess only time could tell.

I think any competent and professional MMO studio has people reading the important gaming sites these days.
Whether Cryptic does is another matter.
EDIT:
I am interested in getting such a job, BTW. Any serious offers - PM me.

Bioware didnt had its claws on NWN at all since many years now. Its Obsidian who did NWN2. And even they dont own the IP.
Atari is just a publisher and doesnt own the IP either.
The IP is owned by Wizards of the Coast. Everyone who wants to do D&D games (including Forgotten Realms, including Neverwinter Nights) has to get their permit.
I just read a gaming magazine that claims Cryptic has registered City of Heroes 2. Don't know if its true for sure.
NCSoft registered for the name, which means that Cryptic more than likely will not have anything to do with it.
It was in the latest issue of Gameinformer. I'm assuming that Gameinformer must have just gotten the story wrong, though there is some speculation on CoH forums that CoH 2 was copy righted to prevent someone else from shooting for the title.

Chances are - you would feel that way already.
