Feel free to discuss, but don’t vote twice.
--------------------------------------
Ultima Online Pre-AoS is my vote.
Imo best end-game of all time. This was pre-item based times, before all the luck suits and all that. I could play my caped characters indefinitely, always something to do like Fishing, treasure-hunting, organized guild vs. guild RP PvP, Christmas parties lol, wheeling and dealing etc etc etc. After AoS it became an item grind, which is sort of like a never ending level grind in a way, which was odd as UO is skill based, then all the mini-game junk like BOD’s. But before those times, it was golden!

Voting concluded.
And we have a winner. Out of 85 legitimate votes, EVE wins by a nose *and the crowd roars*

Quantity wise, there's no beating it.
Some events were a bit on the unbalanced side (especially the first ones from many years ago), but it has gotten a lot better. Word "Raid" doesn't exist in that game simply because no event is like the other. They're all unique in some way or the other. And there's a l o t of it.
World of Warcraft
If we were to judged based on endgame, I wuold choose World of Warcraft. Only because all the content in the middle is trivialized enough and easy enough to hit max level that it's not hard to get to the end to start actually enjoying the game.
I really don't think an MMORPG should be rated by its own end-game. Plus end-game applies differently to different games and generally sand-boxes do not have a clear-cut "end-game". The game should be enjoyable through out early and mid-game as well but I think too many MMORPG's have geared everything towards throwing content at max level and it's really awful hence why Blizz had to make Cataclysm because their pre-max level content became so trivialized and useless.

I guess if I had to choose PVE, EQ1 wins it. Held my interest for 6 years, so it must have struck a chord with me.

Aion. Best graphics and gameplay there is. The game is not user easy like WoW, yet not super hard like EQ.
Ultima Online - there was no end game.
Age of conan.
I'm not sure how I can get around not voting twice since a lot of the game's end game are better for decent reasons, so I'm going to have to break the rule and vote more than once:
Quantity (PvE): Everquest - Each expansion had loads of raiding content as well as endgame dungeons. After many many expansions (what is it now? 11?) it's hard to deny that Everquest has the most endgame content to keep someone who has even been playing it for 10 years busy. If only it maintained it's population and you could actually find people to do it with.
General: World of Warcraft - WoW has the best variety of end game content from battlegrounds, world PvP, arenas, raiding, and heroic dungeons.
Quality (PvE): World of Warcraft - Originally WoW's raiding was like a more heavily scripted version of Everquest's, which already made it an improvement of over EQ's. Over the years it's gotten even more complex and scripted, and some raids are genuinely interesting and fun (when you do them successfully for the first time - after that not so much). I think this area could use a lot of improvement in future MMOs.
Quality (PvP): Dark Age of Camelot - I think it pretty much speaks for itself when players who played it rave about it's PvP and are still hoping for a game with similar quality of PvP after 10+ years.
Out of the gate it looks like EVE & UO are nose and nose with 2 votes each
Because I'm not going to read through each post multiple times trying to figure them out If first word is a game than it gets counted (if you don't post games multiple times)
You'll need to decide on one and repost, hehe I can't give you two votes for WoW. lol

Why not use the insert poll feature if you just want to tally votes?
To say that Eve and UO had no progression? Is that true?
.
I know in UO for example, lowbees were fresh meat.
.
Isn't there at least a learning curve? Or a money curve? I can't see someone preforming at max right after log in. Or an equipment curve? Or a need to build your ratings up?
.
WoW has tutorial levels 1-79, 80 is where the game starts.

Star Wars Galaxies (pre-cu) mainly as it didn't feel like end game we see with today's gen. of MMORPG's
For me today's gen. of MMORPG's end game is what I mainly play in mulitplayer games, obviously with less players in it then it can be in a MMORPG.
I'm throwing annother DAOC vote here
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
EVE - even though as Kyleran said the 'endgame' starts from day 1.

DAoC! Why can't someone just make a good DAoC clone?
WAR really sucked.
What exactly is "end-game" in a sand-box? There's no true definition that could be all encompassing. Is it reaching GM blacksmith and being able to make GM crafted armor of rare metals? Is it getting to the end of the hardest dungeons? Is it being able to spirit speak as a native language?
There is nothing that can cover all of this to define end-game in any sandbox especially when the game is generally built to keep things going. The experience revolves more around the players than the environment itself in this case. Even EVE with its tiered equipment and 100 different activities has no clear cut end-game, you just do things and have fun ultimately or at least try to n o get pwned all the time.
Asherons Call most dynamic ingame events, unique pvp and one hell of a storyline shoulda been a movie:)

Would be biased unless I list every game. Se-see the list lately??
Even with just one vote, makes it to noteworthy.
All mmo’s have end-game content of some form. It’s what happens after reaching the skill/level cap. Can start before, day one like EVE or SecondLife, but it’s what you do after training or grinding. I tend to look for that in games, as I don’t care to grind just to grind again, I like games I can subscribe to for 5+ years and not be in just some endless level grind push. But they all tend to have... something.
