Everyone, go check out the TOROCast Podcast over here :http://www.swtor.com/community/showt...01#post3033701 as they've posted something truly interesting.

Bravo to them for bringing this to light - especially to 'NamesAreUseless' from their forums.

Really does seem like beta's getting close, no?

If anyone cares to see the original info from ithorians.com all you have to do is google search ithorians.com and click cached below the link to said website.

But really there's not much more than is posted in these threads

It's going to be a two-handed game, it seems.

For me, that's a pity. I prefer movement that can be controlled just by the one-hand using the mouse.

I wouldn't fully count that out yet mate :)

I agree. I imagine movement buttons can be bound to the mouse. At least I hope so - otherwise SWTOR will be at least five years behind every other MMO when it comes to movement. The last game that demanded I use my left hand to wsad for movement and the mouse for direction was the horrible GUI that came with SWG NGE.

Few of my small questions answered from this.

Smugglers/IA - Get action Bar swapped in cover and certain abilities require cover.

Characters can have first and last names.

Death takes you to a medical center, no corpse running among other things.

    Ok, wow! Very nice find!

Movement is traditional, I'm sure you'll be able to move by mouse alone, you could do that in KoTOR as well and it isn't always mentioned in the keybinds.

Character creation features slider bars! Great news there, I was thinking it would all be preset options due to recent statements; also first and last name, which is a nice addition.

Also some interesting points on combat, the rest is just standard information...

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

Get rid of the QWASDR and just have WASD with Strafe, no need for the extra two buttons.

So basically the game plays exactly like any other MMO, and this guide really makes it not sound special in the least bit.

But you can't expect much from basic controls. :P

Yeah, lol ass off, people are going "wow"  like it's anything we don't see in every other mmorpg game.

Functionality is a very important thing, people seem to forget that.  Traditional basic controls have been proven to work the best, people are more comfortable with them.  The thing is though, this information isn't exciting because of the information itsself but for what it might mean.  E3 is more than likely going to give more details of the game, it may even confirm what my instinct keeps telling me.  The theory that they have more done than what many of us think they have done and that beta is about to be confirmed by an actual date.

Uh, what?  Looks like spacebar=jump to me.

Nice find OP.  Looks like they've been doing "friends and family" stage testing since November.  Too bad they couldn't leak out something more interesting than basic ui stuff.

Got any revolution controls in mind?

    I'm a keyboard turner.

    :(

I could do movement with the mouse, but I am so righthanded that doing abilites with my left hand would be hopeless.

I just meant reading this list of controls and basic features makes the game sound very bland and generic.

Not the fast-paced, action-oriented combat the devs promised.

It's possible to do both, it just requires good hotbar management and setting things up in groups in a way that you feel comfortable with. Just happens that some people gave up on that entirely which is why you have UIs that look like someone vomited the abilities randomly onto the screen with giant type52 bold text screaming out ability names and numbers each time they press a button(see half the WoW UIs ever created).

Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

Hm, I could more or less learn to play WoW using this guide.

    A good sign.

Just gotta hope that the things done with these WoW-esque basics are as exciting as they say.
