With E3 on our doorsteps and the developers telling to hold out for new information at this years E3 convention, what type of information are you hoping they release. I know thats a stupid question, hell give us all the info, but is there anyting in particular?

I think we can expect another sizzling trailer.

We'll also get another heavily preset combat experience, this time from the Alliance side - I'm guessing the Jedi Consular this time around.

What we won't get are credible answers to the questions:

    - Is this truly an MMORPG or a single player online game with networking features?

    - Will there be flight combat in this game at launch? If not, why not?

    - Is what Bioware means by 'open world' the same as what ordinary mmo players mean by 'open world'?

    - Are crafting and selling really integral to this game? Or bolted-on afterthoughts?

    - What about housing?

    ... etc etc.

I think they are going to talk about end game and pvp and also go deeper into the talent trees of each class and also companion characters for each class. I think they will whole off on talking about space and wait until a few months before the games is about to tells us about it

Hopefully, they show or at least talk about the MMO aspects of this game.  Beta can't be too far off, and those details or lack of will leak out once that happens.  They might as well be the ones to put it out there.

Moar VOs, companions and rest of the single player nonesense they been talking about for a year.

    Because that's all they got.

Most likely another CGI, possibly at one of the press conferences like last year.

Then we're getting half an hour of dedicated time, so I hope we'll see plenty of footage in that; as well as all the interviews and stuff that I hope we'll be getting some flesh on some of the features like PvP etc in.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

Hopefully some gameplay to go with the trailer this time =0

they will show us another cool awesome trailer, this time with the jedi being the main characters.  more combat videos probably of jedi and a beta announcement plus any other things that are ready to be shown.  space probably not because it is probably not ready to be shown.  bioware is truly operating off the first impression approach to me and they dont want to show anything that is less than stellar because they know how mmo players will spout it from the rooftops about how bad the space combat is if they show it as less than stellar, so they will hold off on that till its ready, a couple of months before release.

bioware has already shown us and told us how this game is an mmo and not just a singleplayer game with multiplayer access, some of you just wont listen to your own ears.

A new CGI trailer - Some talk about Story... and story... and also companion characters... There will also most probably be a jedi gameplay showoff and a talk about how "heroic" you will feel playing the game... Annnnnd maybe... Some info on when the beta starts.

Then why have they released those combat videos? They are certainly less than stellar.

because they know how mmo players will spout it from the rooftops about how bad the space combat is if they show it as less than stellar, so they will hold off on that till its ready, a couple of months before release.

They know how much of a stink there will be when they admit there is no space combat. Remember, they have not confimred space combat is in the game - unlike crafting, PvP, and raiding.

No, they have only told us.

Damn, you must be new to MMOs to trust the devs like that.

    - What about housing?

Some notes from the lecture “MMO Retention - Learning from the First 25 Years,” by Scott Hartsman of Trion, and Gordon Walton of BioWare.

Gordon Walton of Bioware discussed aspirational experiences, and pointed out that they didn’t necessarily have to be day to day, they could be things that people aim for over the long term. In Ultima Online, for example, the data showed that people who had houses stayed longer than people who didn’t, so making changes to offer housing to more players became important.

And what will we hear from the forums after E3 announcements?

More whining that it's a single player game

More whining that it's too instanced

More whining that the graphics are bad

More whining that Bioware knows nothing about MMORPG games

More fanboys claiming it's the best game ever

    And so on...

There are a lot of people who have already made up their minds about this game and it's not even in beta. I am going to reserve judgement. It kills me  some how gamers can have some predetermined bullet list of items that a game must have before they consider it an MMO and deem it worth playing. If I play it and it's fun then great. If not, I move on. Hopefully it won't cost me a fortune to try it and find out.

I am sure the trailors for SWToR will be awesome. We should see some game play as well. I personally hate crafting so that has no interest for me what so ever. Flight combat either needs to be done right or not at all. If flight combat is not ready, then it should not be part of what is shipped.

Talk is cheap, and from an MMO dev - almost worthless.

The question is - why do you believe them?

If it isn't 'ready' after 6 years and $150 million, then they never had any intention of including it.

A playable demo would be nice.  But that being said the company should be posting on there web site what to expect to see during E3.

Yeah they really aren't that vague at all.  This thread will go the way of so many others.  You'll see a couple people in particular make remarks about certain features BioWare has already spoken about or shown, and then try and convince everyone else that they really haven't shown anything.

Then they'll say that everything they haven't shown doesn't exist because BioWare is obviously trying to pull a fast one because they've never created an MMO before (or some other perceived well to do opinion based on the notion they deserve what they want)

Then in the end it will come down to noone knows anything until they play it and the haters will feel like they've accomplished something.   Once you strip the troll bait out of the thread we might actually be able to stay on topic for more than 10 posts without the same few people derailing it.

As DE said in one of last months interviews, all of the core features are in game and the game is starting to get all of the art and polish in. He went on to say that he can't wait for players to get their hands on the game at E3 so I'm guessing they'll have a much bigger demo of the game.  I also suspect more races will be confirmed... some interviews will be given about some more features that haven't been released yet, and we'll see if BioWare is in the talking mood, or if they want to keep things quiet for a while longer.

This is pure genius. I am actually applauding you in real life maskedweasel. If the people in my office weren't so distracted/busy with their own stuff, they'd probably think I was weird.
