all game breaking issue i was aware off has been fixed, as for the launch everything went smooth. No lag, server are up and stable.

I wish the best for this game

Seems like it went pretty smooth. Thou MOs launch was different from many other games, in here they just slammed a "We are no gold" sign on the game, while in most games a launch usually means new servers opened and more people playing. Atm there are same people playing who were in closed beta.

People seems still to have some issues with random crashes and such, but it's not as bad as some other games.

    Hey, here's my experience:

I logged on a couple minutes after the window for DD purchasers opened (about an hour after the server opened for the first guy; they staggered the login based on what version of the game you bought, DD was last... a bit unpopular at the forums but the servers stayed up so it was probably worth it)

after making my character (the background desc bug was finally fixed), in a fit of morbid curiosity I chose to start in Fabernum.  This is probably the most popular town (I didn't see Meduli, but that's the closest competitor).  The spinning sword wasn't too long, suprisingly.

When I spawned, there were at least a hundred other players surrounding me.  The textures lagged a bit loading, so the player models all started out white.  There was considerable lag , but it quickly smoothed out as I moved away from the spawn point.   A dozen yards or so away from the tower (where you spawn)  the lag wasn't noticable, and FPS was smooth.

I didn't even bother entering town (probably should have actually to test performance), I just head to the wilderness.  Came up to a guy at Sausage Lake and we fought for a bit, no sign of lag.  (For the curious.. I won :) )

Oh, I also tried to trigger desync a few times by repeatedly crossing node lines around the spawn / tower.   No signs of desync.

And looting works now (nick of time on that one... probably the most disturbing day-before-launch bug ever)

I've seen a bunch of people running around Vadda.

Server seems pretty stable so far.  No real lag yet.

Wow sounds great! Been looking for info this morning on the launch and been finding nothing but positive news. I'm starting to think about picking it up. I never followed this game much at all, heard a LOT of bad stuff about it, but kind of kept my fingers crossed in the background since I have dreamt of a game that can deliver what Mortal says it can. Keep the launch reviews rolling!

I never understood what was wrong with this game.  I had open-beta and besides the millions of crashes, bugs and just being unable to play when I actually got in the game with maxed out graphics with a uber system the game looked rubbish, I mean like really bad, Bethsada's Morrowind had better graphics.  Downloading the game again for my free month, I dont have high hopes but can any of you tell me have the graphics improved?

Very glad they had a smooth launch. This game was ambituous for a small company. Best of luck!

If a storm had not knocked out my DSL, I'd say I'd be in there. But I'll drop in soon enough.

This is great news. TBH, the last time I logged into beta, it was pretty bad. I've had high hopes for this game though, and I hope it does very very well.

Gratz SV, you've really turned the game around, from what I'm hearing.

There IS still hope for the REAL MMORPG genre.

The only issue I experienced was moderate lag for the first 20-30 seconds after logging in. After that it was fine though.

They really did do a great job getting the server prepared for their launch.

I've spent the last few hours playing, and haven't encountered any serious lag.  I have had a couple of hiccups here and there, but nothing to write home about.  I'm really impressed with the performance, and look forward to even better performance as they further optimize the game.

I believe the server may have gone down twice now, either that or I crashed.  I'm guessing it was a server crash though because I couldn't log back in for just a bit.  If it was indeed a server crash, then they got it back up and running very quickly as I was back in about 10 min later.

I made a character in both Morin Khur, and Meduli.  I didn't bother checking out fab, I knew it would be packed.  LOTS of people in both Morin Khur  and Meduli though.  I happened to log into Meduli just as it turned night time, very pleasant at the shore in the dark.

The weather system is just amazing.  Actually seeing seeing storm clouds rolling in, or watching them build off in the distance is incredibly immersing.  I'm loving it.

There's a lot of work to be done, much content to be added.  The future is looking absolutely bright for Mortal Online.

As I been trying to say, that is because that wasn't a big deal of a "launch", they just started charging money. There is no difference between the "launched" game and the beta version people were playing the day before except for the loot fix. There are same people playing it who were playing it the day before, give or take ~50 extra.

I would really be surprised if launch didn't go smooth, since the only thing they had to worry about was extra load on the server. Nothing else was different, they just slapped a "We are now open" sign on the game..

Did they wipe the beta players or no?

lol, I guess I will be brutalized by players already with max characters. Oh well, it's all good. ; )

Give or take 50 extra?  Even wandering for 30 minutes away from fab I saw more people than I've seen in any one place during most parts of the beta.

You can't give SV even a little credit on a good launch?

Edit: @Sovrath:   there was a wipe at launch... but there probably IS one guy who has somehow grinded his way to max stats already.

No, they wiped the servers, so it's all new characters again.

In open beta I had an issue where I couldn't even enter the game.  Upon seeing the Splash screen my game crashed hoping they fixed this, still deciding on whether or not to buy the game, for some reason there website won't load, probably way to much traffick right now.

For all of you that have no lag issues say where you are from, I'd be playing for the U.S. east coast.

Hi rez textures are coming soon.

If you didn't like the way the game looked before, you won't now.  It hasn't changed, just runs a LOT better now.

Outstanding job by Starvault. Tough I'll be staying with Darkfall because I love the freedom and massive work for your skills I really wish MO well.

We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!
