Im completly sold for this game, it would only get better if there were different playable SM chapters and maybe necrons, but ofcuz I can always wait for an expac for those
The thing I love the most is that 100% sure this will be P2P, so its like the best "IN YOUR FACE" I can ever imagine for the F2P crowd.
Sure kids, have fun with your 5 year old asian generic shits filled with terrible, terrible grind and gamekilling cash shops... I'll pay for this
I personally can't wait to kill Space Boars!!! Meh...don't mind me, I'm just bitter and jaded. Back to my corner waiting for something other then your typical MMO with a different art style and lore.

So this is the thing you love most about the game? Really? The thing you love most is that you have to pay an extra monthly fee to play it? So if the same game was released without a monthly fee then you would think less of it? Yeah screw whether it turns out to be a good game or not. As long as it charges you to play a game you already paid for then it must be good!
I would be very happy indeed if Warhammer 40k turned out to be a game that you just buy and play at your leisure like....hmmm......I dunno most other normal games perhaps? Of course I dont actually expect this to be the case as there are too many people like yourself waiting to throw extra cash at them.
I rather like the idea of being able to pick up and put down a game whenever I want, considering I currently work full time and really only have time to play games sometimes on the weekends......and I have other stuff to do during those weekends as well. Paying £10 for the equivalent of less than half a weeks worth of gaming time each month on top of paying the cost of a full priced game is hardly a good thing. If a time ever comes where extra monthly fees are not blindly accepted by the gullible masses as some false certificate for quality then it will be a good time indeed. Unfortunately with people like yourself blindly throwing their money at companies that ask for it but dont really need it, I see this as being pretty unlikely.
Hopefully Guildwars 2 will take some steps to highlighting what a ripoff monthly fees actually are. That will be the best "In your face" for the P2P crowd.......not that I actually believe the world is as black and white as that of course. If they can pull off a fully fledged mmo that competes with the best of them then there is no reason why all the others cant do the same. Monthly fees do NOT guarantee quality. They simply guarantee that the company will get more of your money. I dont mind paying a bit extra for expansions or to unlock content as and when I need to, but paying a monthly fee is a bad deal for anyone who doesnt play games all day every day.

I wont bother quoting more . Your whole argument is based on a game being exactly the same, be it F2P or P2P.
That is, that developers wouldnt put all kind of obstacles to make F2P player's life miserable and forcethroat the item mall to them, while giving high spenders everything on a silver plate, betraying what a RPG actually is...basically changing the fundaments of the game as they designed it first and foremost (tme progression, drop rates, balance, equity, customer service ), until the game is just a side feature wrapped around a money grubbing cash shop.
We both now thats false, the only difference is that one of us is wlling to admit it.
you name Guild Wars...I can effortlessly name no less than one hundred games that look, feel and play exactly as I said.
btw, am I the only one who finds hilarious that the game F2P supporters name the most trying to make a point, is actually B2P and not F2P...?

The whole F2P discussion is starting to get boring, but since I'm bored already here it goes:
GW and DDO are also 'F2P', LotrO will be and GW2 will be too: or, to be more precise, F2P, F2P hybrid and B2P, in short 'non-P2P'.
For the rest I've found the whole F2P/P2P discussion and especially the warped arguments that I've seen pass on these forums to be ridiculous, hilarious and causing me to doubt the reasoning and reflective skills of a lot of people posting here.

Heh, I laughed to myself at work over this.
I know that ppl have blinders placed on themselves due to their own particular beliefs . . . but I really do think the only thing he was trying to elucidate was if you were excited about the game because it had a monthly fee.
That is the money shot for you? As he said, if it were released without a fee, you would think less of it?
Following that logic, WOW, WAR, AOC, EQ2, et.c, all excite you, as long as it has a monthly fee. DDO might kind of excite you, becasue it has a hybrid payment system (which this game might end up having too, some form of RMT, which you won't mind, sine the monthly payment still excites you). That piece of crap, Craft of Gods--you may want to check that out for some awesomness, since it has a monthly fee. I didn't much care for Mortal either, but at least it has a fee.
It may have been an attempt to mock you, who knows? I really DO think he was just trying to figure out your thought process, I didn't get the impression he was a F2P fanboi.

Based on this single statement, you invalidate your own argument on the basis that you have no CLUE what you're talking about.
Do some research on the cost of the upkeep of an MMORPG...
You have hardware costs, software licensing, data center space leasing (or building/maintaining your own all over the world), man hours for the Software house, the Hardware house, the Marketing people, and everything and everyone in-between.
If you think for one moment that a subscription fee isn't "really needed" when charged for an MMORPG, you are completely and totally incorrect.
You either have an Item Mall that all the rich kids and scammers pump hundreds into each month, and the regular players like me might drop $15 or $20 a month into (revenue for the producers/publishers) or you have a monthly subscription fee (revenue for the producers/publishers) at around $15 a month.
But all of this crap aside? Yea, DMO looks AMAZING!!! I CAN'T WAIT!
And FYI, I'd pay $20 a month for it. MMOs are my hobby. And it's a very, very cheap one.
True mages don't die. They strategically miscalculate.

It seems youre the one with no clue what theyre talking about. Arenanet has already proven they dont need a sub with both GW1 and the upcoming GW2, neither has a sub, and GW1's "cash shop" doesnt impact the game or give anyone any sort of advantages, it simply adds some optional content or saves you time.
According to my friend who has some knowledge of the table top: Dark Millineum is the rule book (Or whatever they are called in the table top world) before they added Tau and Necron. I dont recall if he said Eldar and Dark Eldar were included in that

Tau would be fun, but necrons wouldn't be a great player race.

Regardless which races are in the game, I'm still gonna give it a try. They can always add races in xpac's.
The only thing is that it doesn't look as dark and "grim" as I would have hoped for. When I think of 40k, whether it be the original 40k or Dark Heresy, I think grim...like....very grim.

I hope that you can costumize your charcters. What is Warhammer without the option to costumize?
The trailer shows only Dark Templars what I could see. But hopefully its just because the video is still in early state.
So later on you might be able to colour the armour so it looks like a Dark Angel for an example. And maybe some emblems aswell, so finnish it all.
That is what I really want, thr option to change colours, maybe adore them with skulls, purity seals and so on.
I did see Imperial Guards for just a few seconds in the video, which made me happy. Those are the one I wanna play when it comes out. So hopefully they are playable. ^^
From a lore stand point this game blows and is worse then even Warhammer Online. Factions in this game have been reduced to simplistic good vs evil in order to pair up sides which would either never ally with each other or would be hard pressed to find a common reason to fight together for one battle let alone an entire war.
From a game play perspective 2 side factional warfare is a proven failure.
Artistically this game is cartoony. It will have a teen rating which means a lot of the hardcore aspects of the 40K universe (you know carnage, death, destruction, blood, gore, blasphemy, etc) will be missing or diluted to appeal to the schmucks who have no understanding or knowledge of the 40k universe. Which I might add is no different then what happened in Warhammer Online.
They took everything I loved about War 40K and just tossed it aside to earn a quick buck.
Here's hoping CCP doesn't screw up WoD like THQ has done with War 40K.

you get what you pay
that is, you dont pay a monthly fee, you get a game server that can be run in a home desktop, which doesnt provide a real massive experience nor persistent world, just extremly instanced rooms of few vs few battles, which are created when you join and dissapear when you finish.
dunno you, but I dont want WAR40k to be anything like that. no, and a million times no...
thats what a monthly fee gets you, a MMO, not a room based lobby

True mages don't die. They strategically miscalculate.
What i find to be a big let down is that they are taking a "Good vs Evil" approach to it...
which most likely means no 3-4 sided faction pvp mayhem, just the WAR approach.
BLEH!
Why are companies steering clear of the DAOC approach to pvp?
Agree, I was hopeful for down the road but the fact they are pulling this good evil angle I doubt I will try it now.

Yep.
We're still hopeful that Eldar/Dark Eldar/Tau will be included when they announce playable races/armies.

yeah, i dont want that either they hopefully will have 3 factions. or think something up. i hate to see this IP get screwed over. due to good vs evil.
