I scored 2000 which is very depressing considering my rig runs other 'pretty' games fine like Aion on max settings. Pretty sure you need an i7 and a Nvidia 400 series to score well on this which is somewhat insulting. My cpu is getting old and I can see myself changing it out before XIV is released but if my GTX+ 9800 isn't good enough for SE, then I really don't like them right now.
if you can run aion on max I wouldnt be worried about being able to run this game....even on high resolution.

Aion looks nice and all, but it is not quite on the same level as games like FFXIV or GW2

Lol I knew there was going to be people with comments like yourself. Where everything is insulting. I am sure some changes will be made to the benchmark. Not many have scored much over 4.5k with top end machines. Chill out.

The i7's and 480's are clearly the FFXIV standards. Well guys start digging deep into those wallets. Still have time to upgrade before the game is ready to be released.
Edit: Nothing is wrong with ATI cards imo. Most cases they are equal to or just slightly behind Nvidia cards on gaming rigs BUT they are generally cheaper therefore more accessable.
And then look under the sensor part for GPU mem usage.
There are also some GPU wigets out there for vista that show this too.
Nice, I've been out of the loop. When I last focussed on this stuff, GPU programs had trouble getting available memory figures out of Vista, since the call used in XP didn't work. Nice to know that's not an issue anymore.
I'm going to do some comparisons tomorrow and see if the benchmark hints at whether or not the 512MB GPU's are going to be bottlenecked. Wouldn't surprise me if the graphics broke the 1GB mark when maxed out.

It's unthinkable that some optimizations won't be happening in the next few months, from both S-E as well as Nvidia/ATI. But yeah, there'll definitely be some people who need to upgrade to play this game. And be careful when listening to a benchmark that tells you your high-end rig is merely average, and your average rig is the pits, when the benchmark is at least partially sponsored by a company that sells GPU's.
No conflict of interest here, *wink*wink*

You'll find that it's the other way around. Price for price comparisons the Ati cards have been coming out slightly ahead for quite a while now, wheras the very top end card changes hands for who has the better depending which company has the newest one out.
The problem is, at least in my experience, that i tend to have more problems with Ati on stressful games due to them often having a higher top end framerate than nvidia but not as good bottom end of the scale, the average FPS is great and all but those dips annoy me.

I know what you mean because you really can create a benchmark to prove anything in your best interests. The game itself though does appear to be on the extreme end of the eye candy but trying to build your system to over 8000 based on that benchmark wouldn't be wise. Unless SE has pulled off some kind of hack job on the games engine there is no way the system requirements can be that high. Just wouldn't make any sense because how many people have systems that high end? But it is also possible they aren't really considering the PC market? and most design considerations are for consoles?
I'm sorry, but these graphics are not THAT good. I find it impossible to believe it takes more computer power to run FFXIV than Age of Conan.
It's amusing to have this "benchmark" give me a score of only 800 ( supposedly I can't even start up FFXIV according to their "scale" ) even though I had no stuttering or anything else while running it.

Considering a mid-range computer can outdo the graphics of a PS3 or Xbox360, I doubt it. Maybe they plan to release it for the PS4 and Xbox720. Otherwise, they need to do some serious optimizing.

I don't know how to resize it but I would guess i'm on the higher end since i just bought a new Alienware computer two weeks ago. .. but if someone can tell me how i can actually see my score i'd post it.
If I want to get 2k+ more rating on high res, will getting a new processor and new GPU accomplish that? Will a single GPU do that, or do I have to upgrade CPU as well?
If I can get a 4500+ score i'm happy, any suggestions?

I think it's the video card, mainly. I have the 9500GT as well, and got about 890, which is below the recommended specs.
To be honest, it doesn't surprise me, considering they're targeting the game at next gen hardware, and the 9000 series NVidia is what... 2 or 3 generations behind now? That's a *big* difference in computer tech. Not to mention the 9500 is more in their "budget" line of cards, not even at the top end.
I hope to have at least a newer video card by the time the game comes out... I have a feeling the difference in performance will be substantial.

So anyone able to get higher then my 4389 on high settings?
My high which I didn't take a pic of was like a 4589, and my low was a 6849. This is totally crap. It's so dang Nvidia biased lol. Here's why. Specs: Evga X58 E760 3x Sli Classified mobo, 6 gb ddr3 ram, Intel Core i7 960 oc'd to 3.8 ghz, 2 x 300 gb Western Digital Velociraptor hdd's in raid 0, a 1 tb western digital data drive, and two "Ati Radeon 5870's" in crossfire. The problem is that I have the ati cards on an nvidia benchmark. Because, there's not many cases to where a gtx 480 would outperform 2 5870's in any game, and it shouldn't even outperform the 5970.
A lot of people have shown that the benchmark doesn't even measure SLI or Crossfire rigs correctly.
Second, it seems that FFXIV is going to be CPU intensive because the PS3 utilizes the processor more than the build in gpu.
Looking at other forums/boards, the recurrent theme is that SLI/Xfire rigs are getting lower scores..... you might want to run the benchmark with only one gpu running.
Second, even rigs with an Ati 5870 and 8+ gigs of ram, you're seeing very low scores. Reason? The CPU is low. I guess, unlike most other games where the GPU does the heavy lifting, the CPU will be just as important for FFXIV.

My 2 Cents.
Yes...... That would be fine and dandy, yet I have the intel core i7 960, and it is overclocked to a good and stable speed of 3.8 ghz. Would you consider that low? Avery has the 930 and a "GTX 480" which is outperforming mine. So if it were mostly processor dependent I would probably win out unless his is overclocked higher than mine. Yet, if not the nvidia card definitely establishes an advantage.

This is a mmo which is supposed to last for 6 to 10 years. It's different for the single player games where you play it during the time of launch and you're done. Obviously nobody can reach the highest points in this year or the 2 years to come. My rig can handle it in average and I'll wait a bit more before upgrading. The average of this game is better than high on many mmo anyway.

Everyone seems to hate on ati cards but so far from what ive seen from scores my 5870 is still beating the nvidia 470's.

system specs:
Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67 GHz, Quad Core
ATI HD 5570 1GB

Low Res: 3298

I got 2800/4500, and from the score sheet it seems like anything above 2500 will have no problem.
3800+ score for me in 1080p mode. I have an i7 running on the P55 chipset with a SSD and the GTX480.
Why wont this run in fullscreen???
I hope there will be 1920x1200 res. I dont want to have to go through the registry hacks from the FFXI days.
This benchmark has me so excited now though...badass!

2800~ high res
3839 score low
10999 download time O.o
i920, 64bit windows 7
295GTX

idk..

ROFFFLLLLL I Tried it with my hunk of junk and got 471.
Core 2 duo 2.3ghz nvidia 8600 integrated ROFLL waited till this year to upgrade.
just did it at high reso 1920/1080
got 3834 score.
but i should have over 8k once the bench actually works and uses full screen
im runninv 480 SLI and the test only uses a single card so its bullshit lol
