There is a screenshot floating around of a GM answering a page last week. He showed up with his schlong hanging out. Kind of funny as the picture showed what appeared to be a horse twisting it's head around for a better look...
Whatever floats your boat I guess...
The GM didn't have his schlong out, the guy he was helping did. The horse WAS staring and looked somewhat hungry though.
LoL
I don't neccessarily agree with the extreme nudity in this game, but that was funny...
It was advertised as the next big sandbox MMO and Darkfall killer, sadly the truth is that the only sandbox you can compare this game with, is the ones cat's dig up and crap in.
I really wanted to like this game, but the game bring back to many memories similar to Dark & Light, it is just the same unfinished piece of crap, no quests, no content at all.
The only amusement factor I had in this game was laughing at all the shemales running around flashing their beavers.........
The game is completely unplayable. I know much has been said about this on these forums but I found several posts saying the game was fun just after launch. Foolishly I ignored the hundreds of negative reviews I've read and handed Star Vault my $50.00. After 5 days of downloading/patching, I could not even log in. Finally the servers are up and I can only play the game for a minute due to a memory leak error which kills the game. Many others have the same issue, and I assure you, my hardware/drivers are perfectly fine.
I'm all in favor of supporting indie developers, which is partly why I forked over the cash, but this game is truely unplayable. I just requested a charge back from my credit card company which is looking to be successful. This post is simply to warn people who are on the fence about buying this game. DO NOT, at lease not now.
...and please spare me the "blah blah it's only a week into launch blah blah give it some time blah blah WoW launched poorly blah blah..."
You have been warned, you are welcome. Now, somebody please give me an old school EQ/UO stlye of game that is PLAYABLE.
Yes the game is unstable . BUt the fact it ids fun and very very playable far outweighs this. Making a server stable is doable over time , if the game isn't there to start with it does not make a difference if it is stable or not.
Best game in a long time and I hate PvP, but am finding it so much fun I will let that one pass and not die too much.
THis game is an old style UO game but with a better world full stop. You obviously have not played this if you don't believe it has the UO attributes.

This game is in the alpha stage it needs 2 more years of hard work to be called a game, i paid for game spent more times crashing to desktop and servers crashing needs lots more work, graphics are great but this game needs real content.
I would check back in a few years if it is still around.

Sadly I disagree with you here -- because two years of hard work from the same team that has been producing terrible results will ultimately not really get you a better product.
The reality is that the management needs to change to a more experienced and seasoned set of folks, and the development process needs to be brought into line with how actual programmers work, not modders who've never programmed a thing in their life. There is such a thing as a software development life cycle that when I look at MO (and other MMOs sometimes), makes me cringe.
Of course though, the ones that don't follow a proper SDLC are the ones that are now defunct. For all my issues with DFO, it seems like they still followed a proper SDLC, they just made a really boring game. But building an engine from the ground up means they had real programmers on staff, and that shows because little things like the patcher and launcher worked from day one. We are a year+ into MO and the patcher still is a piece of garbage, written by a forum member out of charity. If that doesn't show you how bad MO's programming is, that they had to rely on charity for getting a critical piece of software written that basically supports the whole game, then I don't know what does. Of course, people will be along shortly to tell me how flawlessly it works, I'm sure.

Maybe this is something that was wrong with the Epic part and that is why they are talking to Epic to fix it? The problem I see even if that is true is where will all the new people come from if it is fixed. Most peopel that wanted to play the game tried it and moved on. There is no more new people waiting for something to happen to try the game.

Did you install all the necessary components to run the game? I know it's annoying that they may not all be automatic, but it should eventually work. Typically, with enough effort, you should be able to get the game to only crash when the server goes down (which is a totally seperate issue all together)
All the red is BAAAAAD.
Seriously?! I don't play MO but I do read up on it and have been following it passively with slight interest. But REALLY?!
$50.00 purchase price(equal to other AAA titles) with full priced subscription cost and you have to suffer annoyances. Realize you may not be among the typical crowd or be unable to copy what others "should" be able to accomplish? You mean to tell me that I have to pay full price for something I have to work with and tweak carefully to get something working in which the game itself is commonly called unfinished?
Now, I get it that some of you may think I am lazy or want things handed to me on a silver platter, but thats not the case. If I can get a better product for the same price, what draws me to waste money?
Objectively speaking, if you remove the entertainment aspect of the game, which I can only call niche by any standard, MO suffers severely against its peers of equally priced products.
Do you not find it unfair to pay equal for this game as you would others but you must deal with all of the lack of support and the amount of unfinished product by comparison to dozens of other products that have comparable cost?
There is no way that I could be convinced that if the game requires tweaks and preparation on this scale that the game itself could be better than others I'd pay the same for. THAT would be why the game is a sham.

Yup....

Delete it from your HD already.

What am I agreeing with? Wait.. if I call myself a troll and report myself, does that mean I get a warning?
Hahaha, I'm making myself laugh... wow maybe I should play the game instead of wasting 80% of my gametime on these forums.
