n Aerrevan, NPCs are intelligent beings. You can talk to them by typing text the same way you would communicate with other human players. NPCs are able to understand the English language and respond in meaningful and incredibly immersive ways that bring the player into the game like never before. Ask NPCs about anything from global events and other topics of interest, local lore and even events in the NPC's own life. Quests aren’t always apparent to the player, meaning you may have to talk to the NPC to uncover a task that they need help with. This level of dynamic NPC interaction has never before been implemented in a large scale MMO environment, and we are very excited to present this system to the MMO market.
As far as actually being excited, the only one I feel that way about is Rift. Most of that has to do with the people on the team and the excellent community manager who is doing a great job on the forums sharing her own in-game experiences, making it hard for me not to get a little excited for this one.
Star Wars: The Old Republic (story, Star Wars, sci-fi look good)
Guild Wars 2 (story and realistically dynamic content look awesome)
Final Fantasy XIV (combat system and variable difficulty are pretty neat, story is alright, but it's a classic story-happens-to-you game with no player choice)
The only thing I'm currently interested in as far as MMO's go is Rift. Its the only MMO at E3 that honestly got my attention and the only western fantasy MMO I've believed actually has the potential to be successful in several years. Its dynamic content and expansive class system are the most interesting features currently known. In Rift unlike so many of the MMO's out or coming out soon its possible to make a truly unique character thats not exactly like everyone elses within reason.
Tera looks like it will end up being rather repetitive, and its a eastern style MMO, which means practical a insane grind feast, so its merely not my type of game. FFXIV more or less the same as Tera, its a eastern style MMO and a Final Fantasy game. Never liked any of the Final Fantasy games after the beginning of the 3D gaming era. SWTOR though I'm sure it may end up being successful its not my thing. For one I'm not a fan of Star Wars and another its looking to be the same generic MMO gameplay that I've gotten tired of merely with a Star Wars skin.
Warhammer 40k - or what ever they're calling it now. That has got me more than just a little curious.
BSG - even has me a little interested. Want to see what its about.
DC Universe - Hmm, if they can make if kinda Dark Knight-ish, I'll try it for sure.
ToR - Had me, and then I seen those crappy combat videos...havent lost me...but its close.
But...
WoD is the only one I'm looking forward to, to tell the truth.
Ohh and they are working on it. As if we didnt know that already, but I think its further along than they're letting on.
Secret..shhh, I wont call it a slip. But when I was watching the Alliance 8 matches they had Torfi (I think it was Torfi) on for an interview about Dust 514 and Dev Soundwave somehow got on about how CCP "has a Dev shirt for everything, Dust 514 and that game that we cant talk about." At which point Torfi (T20?) flaired his eyes. But by the whole exchange of body language it seemed very much like (from my impression) that things were moving right along, and CCP really wantes to keep very, very...very quiet about it. As in the dont even want to admit "its in development", kind of hush-hush.
My hope is next year at their fanfest (in March?) that we may see a sneak peek. Heck, it only makes sense that they're developing WoD animations alongside incarna's animations.

I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
Guild Wars 2 & Final Fantasy XIV .. when it started out I was more excited about FFXIV but as I hear more about GW2 I'm starting to lean toward that... hopefully it can live up to it's promises. But the great thing is.. I can play both since GW2 is F2P...
Thank god I have no life or I would probably have to pick one over the other. Sometimes having no life has it's advantages... I guess.... *sigh*
