In the end I think my biggest source of frustration is how misleading I feel those forums & its community is and there are going to be people who get burnt buying the game.    While I have experienced many games with launch issues like AO and DFO, once the server issues passed there was a lot of game under the hood.   With MO, it really does feel like it's just beginning in many ways.   That's not a bad thing for those who want to pay for and be part of its progression.   Whatever; I'm moving on and since I won't be subscribing now that my 30-days is over, I'll just remove the link from my bookmarks and save myself a whole lot of aggrevation =)

For that long. I made this video.

I never said DF sucked BTW. I just want to switch up with MO, thats it thats all. The reason is, i am not ready for darkfall yet. Reason why, if i start DF too seriously, i wont be able to keep up with my life. I rather wait to be older so i can have less stuff to carry on to spare more time with DF at the same time at the end. Stats grind is my only problem just to say and the most time cussuming ever. I already had a social problem with mmorpg's before, it made me quit football the 1st time, i dont want it to make me quit an other thing again. Plus. pvp is all i think about and pve get boring after a while. I even had to start swimming during my last 2 days because i had enough.

As for mortal online, i tried the open beta and MO is not a grind at all. Its a choice to grind. Even if you dont grind, you can quickly gain stats and skills. Join a clan and you dont have anymore trouble with the item grind and i can keep on with my life easily. I dont care about MO flaws, i just want to support MO at the same time.

a lot of players have the mentality that you have to get in something 100 before you can pvp on near equal terms w/ someone, that is absoloutly not true.  weapon mastery damage is linear and so is spell damage, you can quickly get to a point where you are only doing 1 point less damage than the person w/ 100 in evertyhing.  really the last 10 points of mastery will only give you like 1 more damage and its much more work than getting to 50 and for every 10 points of str you will get 1 extra point of damage in melee as well.  You don't really have to "grind" that much if you dont want to to be viable and compete on near equal terms where the difference in winning or losing is going to be 1-2 hits.

Don't worry OP, you"re not the only one in this case, I have gotten baned for "excessive trolling" because I was talking negatively about MO, regardless of how polite and constructive I could be.

What you need to know, is before, they had the "reputation" system, that allowed anyone to "neg rep" you, and flame you with anonymous comments.

Now, they removed this, so the only way for the fanboys to impact posts that they don't like is to report them as trolling.

This kind of behavior will not help them and will drive new players away, if they think they have so much money and their game is doing so good that they can just piss off customers...

I try to avoid arguing about games, but do try and provide constructive posts  to give some additional perspective on this game, which is usually very much needed since many opinions are way out-dated.

With the changes to DFO and the free trial, I think there are a lot of gamers who would experience a very different game than what many posts I read would lead others to believe.

As an avid MMO fan, particularly of games allowing FFA PvP, I decided to give MO a go at release.  That was a $50 mistake, but oh well.

On the Mortal Online forum there was a bug that didn't allow me to link my forum name ChinaCat with my account, so once the subscriber only forum was put in place the last week of June, I started only using my forum name that is linked with my account and that forum name is "Gratus".

In this thread  http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/48272-leaving-darkfall-mortal-online.html  we have what in my opinion is a troll OP.   Be that as it it may, I tried to keep the thread constructive and for the most part it was going ok.

My last post today at the end of that thread was just deleted and I was given a warning for "Trolling".

What do you guys and/or Mods think?   Was this not constructive and trolliing, or was it an excuse to remove a post?

    Dear Gratus,

You have received a warning at Mortal Online Forums.

    Reason:

    Trolling

    Do not troll.

    Original Post:

Look guys - We all know the "vision" of sand and such for MO. We also know the state of the game. DFO over shadows MO with content and simply the ability to play dramatically. You can prefer the "vision" of MO and that's great, but comparing the games as of today is ludicrous. There are hundreds of DFO videos made by players that reflect a full and complete game that is still evolving. I can't find one single video of MO, let alone my own in-game experience that is even remotely what I'd consider a comparison. MO is in Alpha/Beta at best. I've played alpha/beta's I've enjoyed, just not willing this time around to pay for it. More power to those who are and hope the end justifies the means; if it does, we all win.

    Good luck. -Gratus

    All the best,

Unfortunately, these days just because you didn't agree with somebody else, they can label you as a troll. I was called a troll because of all this Real ID rubbish, just because I was putting forward my own views on it. So if I was you, I would just get on with your life, keep expressing your views, in a nice way of course, and don't let anybody stop you from speaking what you feel.

Hey ChinaCat from looking at the post they may have removed it to prevent people trolling. But still not worth a warning for but then again some forums are more strict then others.

Its clearly not a troll post..its a heads up to reality...MO is Dark and light 2 but in a different level...amplified by 100x...

Lacks everything, its not ready for beta...its still in early alpha...im sure no site with quality standarts will even review this game...they cannot take this game seriously.

I was polite and constructive, but when I was attacked by rabbid fanboys I was often sarcastic, which is still polite btw.

I sure was rageposting, but that isn't trolling either is it? Wouldn't you ragepost if you had gamebreaking issues such as crashing every 5 minutes and had no support at all and totally ignored by the devs? So indeed I would keep asking about client crashes, and used sarcasm when fanboys would tell me that it had to be my hardware and I was a troll, which is pretty "unconstructive" but devs for some reason never give any warnings to those who do that.

I agree that your posts are usually constructive and helpful however with lines such as the one I quoted it makes the post look like 'hate speech' against the game, which most companies don't like.

I can understand that and could have been more sensitive, no question.  However being perfectly honest with no hate or emotion at all, I have to tell you that is exactly how the game feels to me.    Please keep in mind that for 13-years I've participated in qutie a number of tests; not just the ones most are used to but real Alpha and Beta tests that existed prior to "purchase & get in to beta" type deals.    Do I really have to list the insane number bugs, server issues, broken mechanics, absent content to get my point across.    There are a lot of wonderful races and customize options when you roll a character yet only one is viable and used by 99% of the players.     If you know MO, you know where I'm coming from and although I agree that calling a "released" game "alpha/beta" is an insult, it wasn't meant that way; but as the truth based upon my experience with games past and the current shape of MO.

Agree 100%.  Is it an insult if it is the truth?  Maybe it is just someone pointing something out that is not appealing, but is nonetheless the truth.

Is it just me or does the game feel like it is turning into a game the devs build on their free time to play with their buddies in Sweden.  Its like a bunch of kids that think they are rock stars because they built this game and have some die hard fans they can mess with.

I agree MO wasn't in the state I would of liked for release.

    - Proper AI   - High res graphics   - Better stability

However the game is fun and the developers are devoted to the max + they listen to the community and interact on a regular basis. This will keep me interested for now.

What I disagree with is people saying the game is full of hackers/exploiters/economy is ruined. The devs have been very good at removing hackers from the ingame world and they've actively gone around removing duped items (see that from multiple people) including items created from duped items.

Shit like this for instance ChinaCat, it's just a blunt statement which is absolutely false. The Devs put their heart and soul into this game and it shows through big patches and regular patches but people like the above will type any old crap to put the game down.

How do you explain the devs suggesting a roll back to remedy the guild "13" getting a spot for a keep that their buddies in Aegis Imperium were going to get?  Not speculation, or heresay, the devs were saying it in front of the keep... Explain

But thorpes, the game is full of exactly what results from hackers & exploiters for many reasons.  The first few day book advantage is not a small thing.   The unlimited nodes and durability to axes is not a small thing.   The Steel bug/exploit that solid reports from those considered "fans" of MO know for a fact were in game for weeks are written off as merely a bleep for a brief time.    Every one know the actual guild whose been using the bug that crashes others targeting them,  yet SV does nothing about it.  The list just goes on & on & on.   There is so much wrong, so much that appears like favoritism it's really tough to ignore.

And to the point of it feeling like a bunch of kids making a game for themselves when they feel like it, that is how it feels to many.   How do you rationalize the fact this game was released Internationally and it took 2 solid weeks of complaints on the boards before SV realized at least one person needed to be on call during the night hours in Sweden to boot the freakin server?    This entire experience has been like nothing I've ever seen before and I'm not talking as much about issues as how the developers appear to be posturing.

I like how this is the response to everything in MO.  There is no cheating, duping, Instant logging, etc... because if you talk about it you get an infraction, and if you don't talk about it, it does not exist.

It shouldn't be to hard to figure out why your post was removed. You were basically advertising MO's biggest competitor in their forum. As Sov said earlier you may not have been trolling, at least in your intentions. They had to give a reason to delete your post, they picked the closest thing to it they could find within their TOS.

There really isn't much more to it than that IMO.

I wasn't advertising DFO.  I was responding to an existing thread made by another player that SV decided to leave open and moderate in a manner that would remain in its comfort zone.   I actually cautioned them early on that threads like that one were an invitation for issues and genuinely expected it to be closed.  Only after the predictable BS that came did I reply and those replies increased in specifics as the other posts increased in their specifics.   The post that was removed was like #60 in a thread that began like this "by another players"

    "Leaving Darkfall for mortal online.

So i tried darkfall trial. I hate the stats grind and the reason why i wont buy it. Mortal online, i was there on open beta and i love the idea. There still room for improvement, but difference between MO and DF, MO make plenty of small patch while DF wait for like months to finally release a super huge patch taht will leave even more issues behind."

    OMG they did it again.

A pretty nice "Goodbye" thread was made by a few leaving the game since this is the last night of the period of game play that comes with the purchase of the game.   I made a nice post wishing  all the best of luck and hoping things turn-around and the entire thread was removed. lol    Whatever

Ummm, you mean this one?  I suppose it might be deleted in the morning, but it's pretty clearly there right now.

Yea well as I join you guys on the way out and as a fellow pain in the ass, I'd like to say some thing positive. I'm sure SV would have waited longer to launch if that was a choice; it wasn't. I'm also sure SV is doing the best it can. SV certainly hasn't enjoyed having to deal with the issues that have emerged any more than the players have and had some very difficult decisions to make; ones I don't often agree with but tough ones to be sure. MMO's are complex projects and I don't see any miracle patch any time soon. Hopefully those who remain and the investors who support the game will be sufficient for SV to realize its dreams.

    Good luck.
