cool .. thanks for the info.. i know when i left. several others had left also or were right behind me .. i just couldn't stay interested in the constant grinding of repeatable kill quests.. i left wow for the same reason.. doing daily quests/ running the same instances over and over was mind numbing... and i had no desire to start anymore alts
Even while I was playing the game I shuddered at the thought of making an alt. That would just be a third job on top of my real one, lvling my main which was supposed to be fun, then adding the alt. There's some fun things about this game, but the negatives, for me, outweigh them by far.
i keep trying out various 14 day free trials of games looking for a new game to play.. non of them are even keeping me interested long enough to finish the trial period, let alone buy the game. I'm pryaing SW: ToR lives up to the hype

Although we are getting off topic, I am in the same boat as you atm. Jumping from trial to trial and f2p to f2p with nothing holding my attention. Personally my hopes are up for GW2 though I think SW:tor is looking pretty good as well.

Exactly, I am in the same situation. I just try every beta testing, and trail but in the end I just quit due to them being the same mundane grindy game.
Have played: Old School Runescape, Flyff, Maplestory, 2Moons, World of Warcraft, Aion, Aika Online, Battle of the Immortals, Allods, Global Agenda, Heroes of Three Kingdoms, SWTOR, TERA, FFXIV, Vindictus, RIFT, Planetside 2, Elder Scrolls Online, WoW Classic, Guild Wars 2, Destiny 2
The game's far from dead. On Lumiel(soon to be merged with other servers) we recently took the core fortress which requires a very large number of 50s(think we had some 300-400 elyos). Participation seems to vary depending the moral of your faction. A month ago the Asmos were the ones bringing the numbers and we were the poor outnumber ones. A natural up and down effect. The real secret is finding a legion that isn't a "game of the month" type. I've not felt any lack of numbers. I'm not saying it isn't at all happening but it's far from game breaking.
Aion is still the number two mmo as far as world wide numbers. Mostly because of asia. Lineage 2 has been around for years let alone L1 both having regular updates to this day despite much lower numbers for NA than in asia.(before WoW they were the number one mmo's on earth) I wouldn't fear coming to join us now if you're in for the long run. If you're just looking for a distraction I might wait a bit. The game as is "good" with a solid base. It needs some pruning still though. I really enjoy the game but I'm not blind to the fact that it really doesn't offer a huge amount of new for jaded mmo players. If your not into large scale pvp the game as is isn't anything you've not seen before. It's a question of taste and exactly how tired you are of the mold. With 2.0 coming let alone the "far off" promise of the visions trailer the game has some interesting growing to go through before it's done.
hi , im playing on server gorgos and its still full of people , our server doesnt need merge and asmos and elyos has the same numbers,
AION=Grindfeast but all mmo's around are, anyway if u have a couple a friends and a nice guild/legion its much lesser grindy as the only things i solo are: farming some mats (aether, diamonds, herbs), and doing some craft, rest im always on sieges dredgion, upper instances....
I remember the wow stuff , was not better and pvp in wow , ummm you know what that means, at least pvp on aion its quite balanced in group, even if your group sucks in gear you still have chances to get some wins on pvp
About people who blames the game L50 pvp - gear skill, well its a point where all mmo's are the same, gear>skill
I play on Triniel which was the first server to take divine fortress a few weeks ago on NA side and it took hundreds of people. The server is still fairly busy but not launch busy. Merging the servers is a great idea and will really bring the game a step up by having more people to group with and pvp will be a lot better as well. While Aion has lost people over time its still doing well and Aion as a whole is always between 6th and 9th place on Xfire. 2.0 patch which brings more content and more pvp will be a nice improvement when it comes out around september. Today is server merge day and the new merged servers will be very busy from now on, have to say Im looking forward to logging in tonight
