Heard that one, not in beta so it does not affect me unless it is an issue at launch, which will piss me off, but what game has actually not had issues at launch? I played a few and they have all had issues that got resolved real quick. So not worried about it until I can't log in for 2-3 days.
And according to there various post (SE), and twitter's they fezed up to the whole log in issue and said it was fixed and a lot of other beta players have said that this was the case. I think you just got stuck as one of the players that the problem persist. Hope they fix it for you, and if you dont like the game anyways from your complaints about it you should probably stay away from it at launch, your lucky to be in Beta even though you have not had a chance to play. But they also have 3 phases as well are you sure you where going to be in all of them? That could be the issue that you are going to be in a later phase which would come out in a few weeks or something. Just speculating I know nothing
"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties that may make it difficult to log in to FINAL FANTASY XIV. Investigation and recovery work is currently underway, but we ask for your patience as this matter is resolved."
just now starting to look at it ? its been that way for days
Beta != Demo. The object of betas is to find 'technical difficulties' and resolve them before release.
Our thanks for your assistance in discovering issues with their login servers.
Most of them are Chicken Little post, 'The Sky is Falling, everyone is going to die!' Happens with every MMO before launch while some might be a bit more stable then others some one will find an issue and its the end of the game as we know it. It will never be stable because we know nothing can be done in two months prior to lauch!
First, why is this post not stickied yet!? Come on moderators!
Second, there's a bit of info that I'm unclear about and I have never seen it discussed up to this point. Here's what I want to know:
Lets say my Physical Level is 20 and I have a Skill Level 20 Gladiator. Now say I want to start leveling Conjurer skills. Can I fight the level 20ish mobs I've been fighting with my Gladiator skills, or do I need to go to a level 1 area until I get my Conjurer skills up, like in FFXI?
I'm ok with either scenario, but I'd rather have to go back to fight the level 1 stuff. Makes it easier to group with friends if we can all have a Discipline that's around the same skill level, regardless of what our Physical Levels are.
I just wasn't sure with the Physical Levels how this effected leveling the other disciplines.
"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."

Physical level is simply a bonus on top of the skill level and equipment, not the deciding factor.
Of course you'll do better with a high physical level, but you will still get your ass kicked by lvl8 mobs at lvl1.
Man there is something I'd like to add to the OP but I can't, not sure if it's even intended change or not but I think it's pretty awesome and came literally outta nowhere. Really makes the itemization in this game interesting.
Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".
Thanks for this thread. Is there a mechanic that allows players of different rank/level to play with eachother? Say a level 20 gladiator wants to play with his friend that just joined. Would they be able to play the same content with eachother?
I know some will say you can swap jobs to a lower level one, and that will work at first, but not 2 years from now when you've done that already.

S-E will introduce new classes to the game in steady intervals.
That said, change your class to a lower level one .
Nothing else has been announced so far. XI had such a system though, not too far-fetched to think we will see it in this one too- just not initially.

I got a question for you, one thing that upsets me in FFXI is that you can change your gear while in combat. I read that you can't change your weapon while in active mode, what about the rest of your gear ?

Thx and keep on the good work !
You can in XIV now, however there is a 30sec penalty where none of the stats on the new gear are active during that time. And 30secs in FFXI or XIV can be very deadly.
Its like those 8-sec rodeo commercials, a lot can happen in that short time!
First, let me say great post. It was the reason I sign up for this site.
Second, this is my first posting so please don't hate on the noob. I am very excited about this game. As such, I have been searching the usual sites for any and all news I can get my grubby little mouse on. In the week since the beta has been released, I have seen quite a few videos of the benchmark and some of the in-game combat (dispite NDA). Shame on you! With that said... why do you think we have not seen any leaks of the crafting system? Have there been any limitations put on the beta by SE in terms of the Deciples of the Hand and the Land?

Thanks for your time.
Yes, they have limited it for the time being so it's harder to start off as a crafter. As gatherer it is much easier right now.
EDIT: Oh it is a sticky, that's great! I'll keep updating this one as more info is revealed.

Hey Hyanmen please add a date or something to the edits/additions you add to the original post so that if someone comes in they can see what has changed over time.

I'll do that from now on.

Just want to say thanks for this thread, it is greatly appreciated. I will be the leader of a ls/company in FFXIV and I pretty sure that all of us who will be leading companies are chomping at the bit for info on in game information pertaining to combat, crafting and also company/ls management. Especially the whole ls/company inter-relationships. Trying to get the info out to my membership in advance makes me appreciate this thread all the more!
There is one thing I'd like to know about crafting, they aren't doing that whole you need a buff to get the crystals thing again, are they. I hated that and the fact you couldn't get the crystals off grey mobs... Please tell they aren't doing this again... I'll be sad if they are.

You can always buy them from me! LOL j/k it was kinda lame. I'm with you on this one.
While I agree on the whole buff thing sucking to get crystals, I will have to disagree on the gray mobs dropping crystals, now if they do then it should be an extremely rare drop since you would be screwing with lower level mobs that other's might be leveling off of. To prevent that then they should make just like FFXI where you do not get crystals from gray mobs.
And yeah it would be good to get more info on how the LS's are going to be running.

My theme song.
Who knows~ hohoho
Dang it really? Crystals and mats took up so much damn space in my inventory. I thought they would have found a better way to do crafting... =(
My theme song.
Now did I say it's like that? I'm under the NDA geez.
