My first MMO was Ultima Online & I loved it, but my all time favorite was EverQuest 1. I've played WoW, EQ2, Vanguard, Runes of Magic but nothing has come close to being as fun as EverQuest.
That game made me so excited for the future of MMO's. There is room for themeparks, but there is still plenty of room for an MMO to be about being immersed in another world with other people.
Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
Wow,Darkfall (Would be one if it didn't take SOOOO long to hold your own in PVP), Runescape when it was full loot pvp, GW
Playing: WoW Sentanced Level 80 DK GW Eazy A K Level 20 W/N DF Max Pain Dwarf Played: KO EVE SL RS WAR RoM EQ1 Allods OI Waiting for: Cataclysm Diablo 3 APB!!! GW2
my alltime favs I guess I'm gonna have to say AC2, and Everquest before 2004. After those they began to kinda suck and then came FFXI which was ok until all my friends started playing EQ2 which was pretty good then we all switched to World of Warcraft about a year later and really liked it until Outlands came along and then WoW started to suck like no other and almost made me stop playing MMO's forever. My last attempt was Vanguard which quite frankly amazed the shit out of me and restored a little faith in MMO's. Till I relized SOE did not want to have the best MMO on the planet and put it on lifesupport, I'm still deppressed about that, Vanguard has the potential to be the best game ever made but SOE must be just plain retarded. Currently playing LotRO and really enjoing the various game systems that come into play as you lvl up but looks like it is going free-to-play pretty soon and by then I will prob be fed up to the point of no return! For I currently see no light at the end of the tunnel. And NO I am not holding my breath for SW-ToR or any other upcoming game in the near future. Thanks a lot Blizzard for ruining the genere, now everyone just seems to want to make crapfest money cows with no community, cooperative social gameplay with any depth whatsoever. Excuse me now while I go throw up!
As many problems that I have with WoW, it's still my favorite so far. I played that game the longest.
My 2nd would be FFXI... that's the game that got me into MMOs.
3rd would be WAR. This game had (maybe has) many problems, but it allowed you to advance through PvP, big plus for me. Too bad everything else was kind of ass after a while.
God I miss these golden days of MMORPG's and esp. the community.
This 100%.
Serious death penalties makes every close call an adrenaline rush, and every minor achievement a major victory. This alternative rule-set should be in all MMORPGs.
I would say POST CU/NGE/WhateverYouGuysCallIt Star Wars Galaxies. Played both 'eras' and prefer the way it is now. I'm not in the mood for flamers and not trying to start drama, so just don't. Guild Wars would be a close second.
FFXI pre level cap raise that happened this month. I actually quit because I didn't like the direction they are taking the game now. It's really to bad was my main mmorpg for the better part of a decade.
I have high hopes for JGE in the mid terme. They got rid of the instances which, to me, is a good sign that they are going for a true MMORPG. For the long terme though, I see Infinity: The quest for Earth
being my haven in the time to come. That game is one of the next big evolution in the MMOG market imo. No bottle neck... a feeling of infinity in space... I just can't wait for this game!!
Atlantica Online. But even it's my favorite MMO, I stop playing it because it's a f2p(item mall) game. And I have spent too much money on virtual goods.

Without a doubt Asherons Call, then runner up PRE-Cu SWG
Pre-NGE SWG. Best experiences and community I have ever been apart of. Damn you Smedley and Julio Torres!

I lol'd.
There are two kinds of people in this world. People who pick their nose.. and liars.
My all time favorites:
Everquest
Everquest 2
SWG pre screw up
Hopefull for some of the new games to come out. Currently playing AoC but my hearts not all that into it.
Ultima Online
City of Heroes
World of Warcraft
Proud MMORPG.com member since March 2004! Make PvE GREAT Again!
It's WoW, I play alot of different games, but they are always when I'm taking a break from wow.
My Thoughts on Content Locust
EQ, but I hated it later on, it became a rat wheel of endless raiding and stats.
I kinda liked Vanguard, shame it didn't succeed.
SWG Pre-CU followed by Anarchy Online Pre- Shadowlands. I hate that companies screw up the games I liked.

Once more Hyanmen brings absolutely nothing to a conversation. Congratulations on being a useless member of this thread Hyanmen.
For me it would be either Anarchy Online or WoW. I still love AO years after having stopped playing it.

atlantica online.
even though it's my favorite, i stopped playing it. Since it's an item mall game. I have the trend to spend too much on item mall game.
Pre-CU SWG
And I wouldn't call it just my favourite but the only true MMO I've ever played, and I played many.
has to be Ultima Online, back in the day, just wasn't anything else like it. and plus its the only game that kept me hooked for several years

Allow me to go in the futur.

I like runescape because its fast simple and its a good time waster.

runescape. there was just something special about that game....
