For the poeple who said "No, it will be 3 different games, why pay for one, if you can wait and pay for them all at once." I agree with you why pay for 1 now when you can wait 2 or 3 or whatever many years and get all 3 at once. But I also have to ask. For the games that are MMORPG that have more then one expantion and are p2p games. Would you really have gone and got that first game if they first came out and said "ay $50 for this game, and $15 a month, but also then were going to come out with 2 more "Games a.k.a expantions", that you will have to pay $X amount for when they come out." Would you really have gotten that first game? Or have waitted until all 3 were out and you could get all 3 for the price of one?
The problem with your rant is this:
With an mmorpg, the later content with expansions ADDS to an already existing FULL game. Normally, expansions to singleplayer games just add more to do after you've played the FULL original game.
What Activision and Blizzard are doing is CHOPPING ONE GAME INTO THREE GAMES to milk the cow.
I refuse to support that.
Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty is actually a bigger game with more content than Starcraft 1 was. The next two installments will be expansions, not full games, with a lower price. They will also be bigger expansions with more single player content than Brood Wars was with additional multiplayer maps. The trick is between Starcraft and Brood wars there were about twenty missions per race. Starcraft 2 will have about thirty per race. It's not one game chopped into three it's one game and two expansions. How is that not reasonable? Milking it? Yes they're giving more content for more money. I suppose that's milking it in the same way Brood Wars was milking Starcraft.
30 per race, eh? Are those races in and playable? You know, like they were in SC1?

Still doesn't change the fact that SC2 is merely a nice patch to a 12 year old game and charging $60 US for a standard version.
And on top of it, they're STILL chopping the campaigns up into seperate releases. What's funny is I think they'll be doing an EA / The Sims by releasing those campaigns in a month or two.
Sorry man, I'm not down with getting fleeced and suckered. They're dressing up a 12 year old game and releasing it today wanting more money for it than other new PC titles. Like sending me a ragged old lady dressed up in a schoolgirl outfit, and telling me it's a great deal.

Yes... dumbasses.
Who are the guys paying $60 for a standard box of a 12 year old game?
That's right... dumbasses.
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." I was in the beta and I decided to pass, at least until all three are released in a battlechest. I was completely disgusted when I saw they were selling the game for $60, especially in light that it's basically 1/3rd of the entire series.
Then again I am also not really a fan of RTS games. Diablo 3 might be another story.
I ll buy SC2 in few years when it will be platinium edition having all 3 games in one box for a reasonable price. But some crazy mods people are coming up with might change my mind and make me buy it earlier.

Might buy it in about two years from now, when they sell all three campains for a total of 15 €.
But there's no way i gonna spend 1.5x standard retail price on 1/3 of a game.
I hate WoW and what it has done to the MMO genre.
I'd be full of apathy for SC2 but I simply can't be bothered. The only RTS game I ever really got into was Dungeon Keeper II.
...however, if you are positively wetting yourself with excitement about it, then I hope you have an absolute blast. Good on yer!

I have zero interest in this game. Passed up beta as well.
I'll get it when some good UCM's are out.
EHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh No.

If there is any game on the market I will buy without a blink in the eye, its Blizzard's games.
I ordered one, from my friend's shop. He delivered to my house and installed for me already. But I am still on trip and won't be home for a long time.
I have no interest in SC2 and no reason to buy becouse it allready can be downloaded from torrents in my country.
im not buyin sc2 n could care f'ing less about it

not buying it till the zerg campaign...other then that I hear there is a sick castle fight mod...which is making me happy
Never was into RTS of Dune type. And SC1/2 is major representative of this gameplay.
Problem is we are not in 1998 anymore.
So. No...not for me thanks
Not buyin' it.
What is SC2?
My friend had beta access for a long time. It looks ok but more of an RPG guy than an RTS guy. To me, RTS gameplay looks quite repetitive..
My dad used to play the Command and Conquer series way back when, and it was fun to watch the campaign for a while.
Not ruling it out, but as of this moment in time, no thanks.
Autofire
I don't touch Blizzard products, so no I'm not buying it.
Nevah gonna buy this game, im into mmorpgs..this game tells me nothing.
Ah, 1998. I was dating this smoking hot goth chick. She got married last month....
Not buying because i am not into RTS.
Same here and I can only take turn based strategy games in very short doses before it becomes boring for me.
All those memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.
Nope not me, I dont enjoy RTS games
Same here.
