on that list I only want to know a little more about is warhammer 40k, other then that is secret world, and I don't hype games I let first then come out let it pass a month or 2 then I think if the game is good enough or no
So call them up and get more information. You work for a MMO news company. Do some investigating.
+1. And LOL!
Too much blog mentality going around now. People are just reading press releases and twitter and copying to their site. If I had MMO news credentials Id be bugging these devs constantly getting updates. Dont know if it would work, but I assume they want to market their product. Anyway, its just what journalists do. Make contacts, chase leads, write stories. Not write stories on what they would like to know. Sorry, OP, Im not trying to be mean. Id like to know about these games also, but its not my job to find out.
A zombie MMO, give me a break, what world are you living in? I mean come on, from a no name studio? If you have to have a zombie MMO, I am sure the one Funcom is working on, Secret World, will be far better.
Then you had to put Warhammer in there too, I don't see that as being a major, the studio making it has no experience in MMO's nor have they had much of anything in the way of hits. They could surprise, but the odds are against them.
You did miss one major one, CCP's World of Darkness, if that is not on your horizon you have to be in la la land.
Damn you guys are quick to condemn. I might not care about all the games on the list, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna attack the columnist.
Did you ever think that the author may have talked it over with his co-workers, friends, family, etc. and come up with this list? In that case, his use of the term "we" is perfectly legitimate.
Think of it this way: How could any writer ever write an article called "5 Games You Want To Know More About" and please everyone? Simple answer - he can't.
You guys need to get over yourselves and grow up.
If you write on a public forum to educate and inform the public, you should be doing ina manner that is helpful for the public. It seems from the responses in this thread that the write did a poor job of knowing what his readers would like to read about. Furthermore, beyond the title there was nothing there. We know that there are five games that the writer wanted to know about and wanted to let us know he wanted to know about, but he didnt tell us anything new about any of them. As the first responded stated, use your credentials and go find something out and inform us. As for the list, World of Darkness and The Secret World are on my "I would like to know more about" games as well.
A zombie MMO, give me a break, what world are you living in?
I don't understand - are zombies not cool anymore? I've been hoping for a zombie MMO ever since I saw Night of the Living Dead for the first time, so I'm actually kind of happy this got some mention. I realize the studio hasn't released much information at all, but I'm glad just knowing this could possibly exist one day, regardless. Also, I'd like to mention that after reading over the Secret World wiki, I don't see anything that makes me believe it's an MMO that's centered solely around a zombie apocalypse, which is certainly different. I don't want supernatural heroes and villains, or a collection of pop culture references, and some relation to urban legends tied into a backstory. I don't want an MMO about fighting dark entities, or a collection of fantasty creatures that are evil in origin, but rather a virtual world set in some manner relatable to our own reality, that is centered around the dead coming to life and eating their neighbors. Human characters, with a persitant feel of uncertainty, fear, and survival in a hostile and unforgiving environment.
Survival horror in an MMO? That would be fucking awesome.

I for one commend you guys for writing these articles that someone is always trying to pick apart for who knows what reason. As far as the list goes though I have to agree with some of the opposition. I could care less about Shillings game he is a big mouth tool who due to his baseball career and penchant at always thinking someone cares what he thinks I will avoid anything from his studios even with two of my favorite artists working on it in McFarlane and Salvatore. The mouht of beantown will not get a red cent from me mmo or not. I didn't play the original Jumpgate but have to admit the sequal has intrigued me some. Zombies have always struck me as a campy and corny subject that can far too often go one way or the next (I might be able to deal with it in a truly horrific sense) but far too often people will add silly humor to the equation and if I would list any horror themed game it would probably be The Secret World as opposed to a game strictly about zombies. The Red Studios mmo is what I have the biggest objection with there is far too little info about it to care, I'm not even sure who this company is that we should care so much about what they are making. This kind of thought process is exatly why we as mmo players are so often duped by incompetent and unscrupulous devs. Warhammer 40k while not something I ever played or took interest in I can atleast see a reason for it's inclusion in the list as well as even it's place at number one in comparison to the rest of this list. while I'm on the subject any one familiar know if Warhammer and Warhammer 40k are the same game world just different time lines?
If I made this list I think it would be Warhammer 40k,Giuld Wars2,Star Wars The Old Republic,The Secret World, and maybe Final Fantasy XIV because they simply do rank as the games we as a community want to know the most about, there is obviously debate as some would say they constitute the most well known and anticipated but none the less we still all want to know more about them and how they are going to play.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
Damn you guys are quick to condemn. I might not care about all the games on the list, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna attack the columnist.

I have to atleast agree I was very intrigued once I read the title, and that is the only reason I read those lists I don't read them all. But once I entered and read the list it was a pretty big let down because it could have been used to sum up the games that people want to know about that are going to be out in a year or two and it has a game that may not even exist, one that isn't an mmo as far as I know and one that could hardly be the best of the bunch in it's own sub genre (the zombie mmo). I hope MMORPG doesn't look at this really in a negative light from me just what I felt upon seeing the list. I can say the writer either has done some research on these games or actually have an interest in them but I just don't see these games having a blip on the radar of this community.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
UM....might want to change the title to "5 games I want to know more about"
agreed good point that
LMFAO I Know really I thott they was going to have some Real MMORPGs on there list. I Think the Title Change. The 5 MMO's That no one wants to know anything about,BUT My Boss told me I had to write this Story. I Lose the Straw Pull. ;-( I got the Short one. A Long title but at least it would be truthful.
Richard Garriotts next "Lord British" game - He hinted in a recent interview that it may be in "UO's niche". Woot!
Wow been a long time since we got a Real good Lord British Game. UO wasn't really Super but of Corse it came out a Long time ago I myself Enjoy all his Pre UO Played and Beat them all. I Know I'm showing my AGE ;-P
Ah, people failing so horribly at reading comprehension is so amusing sometimes. Am I about the only who noticed that he specifically said in the article that this is about wanting to know more info on games we dont hear much of anything about and/or arent talked about much publicly at all? It was not an article about "We want more info on the most popular and already very much talked about games"
People keep saying stuff like "waaaaah Tera/Rift/wtfever game that ha sbeen talked about constantly for the past couple months should have been on the list" completely ignoring the fact that it's the exact opposite of what the article was about.

I'll grant you the games you've listed have been talked about a lot. What about The Secret World? I've seen all of one "semi-in game" video and two CG videos and that's about it. That one counts as "not talked about and want to know more."
40K heck yeah I want to know more, but at the same time I just know they're going to mess it up. Seriously how the heck do you balance a game? The source isn't based on single players but SQUADS. I would have prefered every player be a squad, so the Space Marine Tactical Squad of five guys would be equal to say 10 orc choppas. But no we'll all be single people running around doing crazy stuff. (Though crazy stuff is cool sometimes.)
I do not want another Warhammer Online! PLEASE NO!
Current Game: Asssasins Creed 2(PS3, Gamer Tag: Happy_Hubby) Current MMO: World of Warcraft and World of Tanks Former Subscribed MMO: Star Trek Online, Aion, WoW, Guild Wars, Eve Online, DAoC, City of Heroes, Shattered Galaxy, 10six. Tried: Too many to list
Didn't put Rift:Planes of Telara on there as we are getting a steady stream of information out of those guys. Well, those of us following it anyway. This site isn't always posting it, lol.
Other than that not real interested in any of the other titles in Bill's list or that are in development for that matter. Well, I do enjoy World of Tanks, lol.
"Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..."
Wow, no World of Darkness Online? That's my #1 I want to know more about. I think a vampire game that isn't that crap twilight sounds awesome! Especially coming from white wolf and the makers of EVE.

All I know is the White Wolf WOD MMO will NOT be Old WoD. It will be New World of Darkness, specifically Requiem. So no Masquerade clans for us. No Tremere for example or my favorite bloodline, the Gargoyles.
Blizzards unannounced MMO would top my list, followed closely by WAR40K, or maybe vice versa... but Blizzards project is certainly the least uncovered of the two.
See guys, this is why every article comes with a forum thread, so that you can whine and complain that "MAH MMO NOT ON LIST DIG GUY R NOOB!"
I agree with WAR40k, but couldn't really care less about the rest. Still, I'd never even heard of the zombie MMO, and knew very little about Copernicus, so this article educated me. Thanks.

Gaming since Avalon Hill was making board games.
Played SWG, EVE, Fallen Earth, LOTRO, Rift, Vanguard, WoW, SWTOR, TSW, Tera
Tried Aoc, Aion, EQII, RoM, Vindictus, Darkfail, DDO, GW, PotBS
Why is *I* am only interested in one of these? Warhammer40k

lol, these articles always get such a beating. Should probably not do them anymore.
Any why am I the only one who mentions TERA? Am I the only one who can recognize great potential when I see one?
Shame on all of you!!!

Grammar and spelling fails are becoming too common on MMORPG.com. Come on guys, get spell check. This isn't the dark ages.

I have to agree with most of the others concerning this list. WOD is the one game I am interested in that so little info is out there on.
Magic is impressive, but now Minsc leads! Swords for everyone!
2. Copernicus
1. World of Darkness Online

5. EverQuest Next
4. New Blizzard MMO
3. World of Darkness
2. Copernicus
1. Warhammer 40k
Add these to the list (keep Copernicus):
-Fallout Online
-Blade and Soul
-ArchAge
Heh I don't care about *any* of those. I'd only be mildly interested in #5 because I like Curt Schilling.
