MMO's are alot different then your standard standalone console / PC game. A console game you pay around 50$ and eventually you get to a ending and you can restart at will and most of the time you can use cheat codes to enhance the gameing experience ( For some it might not be enhanceing but you get the general idea)
Now on the other side you got MMORPGs in which case you cannot use cheat codes or hacks otherwise you get banned or even banned to life unless you get a different IP address to log from. Most of the awesome MMO's currently out there have a monthly fee. When you got a million users paying 15$ a month and the company at the other end ain't doing f*ck all on updates then yes it is normal for the players to "whine and bitch" all they want,it is their right, they are paying a monthly fee for entertainment and they pay for the casual major updates and tech support.
And in the middle you got F2P MMOs (Free to play) where in this case I agree there are way too many cry babies. The game is free , play it or leave it , that's the Devs mentality and won't waste time on those kind of people. Their main revenu are the cash shops. As long as morons keep buying cash shop items from a perticular game the longer the crap hole will stay online. Yes I called those who buy cash shop items morons , I was a moron also once but learned from my mistakes. The major issue here is 90% of people of play F2P is because they don't want a monthly fee , but at the end of the year they would have wasted more money on a F2P game then if they just paid a monthly fee for 5+ years. Monthly fees are the way to go,I would much rather pay 15$ a month on Atlantica Online, for example, and have perm bonus to exp, damage, defense a mount quest being able to +7 any equip no problem , rather then having to pay 15$ a month for only the blessing scroll which gives exp, dmg, def bonuses don't forget you got like 9 guys to upgrade their equipement with. If people would just stop being dimwits we'd freaking have a way better MMORPG experience out there. MMO's back in the 90's were 10x better then the crap hole we currently have available on the market , which ain't supposed to be.
Take Fairyland for example , in the last 5 years the game got shut down like 5 times and are now online in North America and is free with a cash shop , as long as people keep buying crap on there , Fairyland will still be online and ripping people off. There are more examples but FL was the most easy and obvious example.
Call me a whiner , but in the end and deep down , when you think about it , we're heading no where mighty quick. Thank God for Diablo 3 which I know isn't considered a MMO , but still , if there is one game that can maybe change the aspect of any future MMORPGs it will be Diablo 3. Until then I'll enjoy EVE-Online and TTDX Online (transport tycoon deluxe).
You make no sense. Its ok for a person to spend $15 a month on mediocre games such as WoW, but F2P players(really 90%!? its like refering to all players) are idiots be spending $15 a month on item mall? And saying that P2P should get a free pass card to whine because you pay a monthly free. Wtf?? If a F2p game is a piece of crap full of bugs people been whining about for years, the population would die down fast. Nobody wants to play a game were the grind is impossible either. So F2P devs are going to have to litsen too, or nobody would be buying stuff from their item shop. Stop the double standards!
as for the OP I certianly agree that people need to stop their whining. Litsen.. your dream games arnt coming, unless you planning on become a developer yourself. The best thing a player can do is find bugs and play the game. Im no saint, I suffer from the complaint diesese myself. But I wont sit here wishing for impossible things that are not under my control. Its a big mmorpg world out. look on the list find your game and play. That is all you can do, and Im not talking about grinding away mobs all day either, role play.
Every time I look around mmorpg forums its just people whining and complaining about the littlest things..
Why are some (well allot) mmorpg players so weird compared to other gamers >.>
I mostly see it here at mmorpg. A site that caters to multiple games.....insta cross hate.
I mean its like a EU soccer match. Sooner or later a fan of the other side is gonna throw a molotov cocktail and all hell is gonna break loose.

The title of your post looks exactly like what you were complaining about. I have a feeling you made it that way on purpose, if you didn't however, then it is pretty ironic and funny.
Yeah, it's the same irony as saying 'I hate haters'
Still, the OP has a point: I've only visited the mmorpg.com for a few months and even I'm baffled and astounded about the abundance of whining, trolling, hating, whining and ranting that's going on on this site, that's on average far more than I've encountered on other generic MMO and game sites.
The sooner you and the OP realize these forums are for PVP the sooner you'll understand why people post the way they do.
We do it because we can, we do it because its fun, we do it just for the F@#$ of it.
You think theres whining here you out to go to a comic book forum site ( dc or newsarama main offenders) . The whiners here are rookies in comparision. i never thoguht i would here a multi page argument about which flash is which because of his boot hight shown on one panel
I challenged my reflection to a staring contest....4 days later i won
Your remark sir, that I blow everything out of proportion is not true. How dare you accuse me of blowing things out of proportion. Don't make me come over there and show you what blowing things out of proportion truly means. Ok, I'm just trying some bits of humor there. I know I shouldn't quit my day job.
Anyway, to the point of my reply. Many (not all, as you suggest) mmorpg players blow things out of proportion because they are trolling. Yes, even those that pretend to be asking genuine questions that ask questions that have been answered 100 times over are only attempting to rile up the feathers of everyone else in order to get laughs. And the people that "fall for it" aren't really falling for it as they known that they are being trolled and decide to keep the trolling continuing to the next person.
It's just a way to keep everyone busy so they aren't bored just listening to music while staring at the ceiling all day (which seems like a good way to relax to me). Of course the noobies come in thinking there's war going on and soon fall into the trap of just passing on one trolling comment and question after another until they realize that's it all just in the name of aggravating another person who isn't really aggravated but just pretending to be in order to continue the trolling cycle.
Seen worse. Honestly MMORPG.com is a pretty tame compared to the likes of other forums sites that I have visited over the last few years. Though all forums regardless of their subject matter, generals style will always have people whining and griping over one thing or another. Its pretty much ingrained that we dont even think about it.
Ever catch yourself saying its too hot, wish that winter was here? Then come winter, say its too cold wish that spring/summer was here? Its a constant cycle for most people myself included.
Take a look around mate and you will see it aint just gamers who moan all the time, it's life and most people are moaning daily. IMO it's got a lot to do with the media pouring crap at us all the time.
Many years ago you would not hear half the crap we see on the box or where ever, the world is very small place now and it's only gonna get worse.

When the market has things called mmorpgs like sto, age of conan, Mortal online, aion, DF etc etc the list of these things go on...
wtf do you expect us players to do? whining ofc..maybe in the next year they will try a bit harder and release a quality mmorpg that is not in pre alfa or beta state, my money is on swtor...apart from wow and 1 or 2 more all other "mmorpgs" are just a big LOL because they have no quality nor polish, and the player base retention speeks for itself.
I'd much rather read "whiner" posts than those of the "haters"*. They set an all time low for the respectablility of gamers in general.
* defined as individuals who have no rebuttal for a statement, but instead attack the character of the person who made the statement as if this somehow disproves the validity.

I think it's just the people on this site and a couple others really, I can (and often do) pull the average discussion here, post it on another forum, and have a legit and understanding discussion/review about certain games and features.
They're jaded and they're bored. An MMO is an MMO, just like a pony is a pony. We're all hoping someday to jump into a game that feels significantly different from the 15 or 20 odd games we've played in the past, or those one or two games we played for years. Each time a new game is released, it's like Christmas coming round again, we got a pony last time and the time before and the time before that, all different colors, sure, but still ponies, and we know we're getting a pony this time, too, but we keep hoping it will be a pony that's more like a tank, or a fighter jet, or at least a unicorn. Alas, it's just a pony.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

I think most people are actually having fun playing their current game. And those players don't bother visiting this forum.

Everyone whines and when you're given a place to voice it where you might have an audience, then you can surely expect it.
These forums, or any MMO forums, are really no worse on that front than any other that I've been to.

Yeah, clearly the monthly fee brings a sense of entitlement.
I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.
Very wise!
