Who carry a gun around  lol?

I love Gun and Bow also why?

Gun is faster but use bow will have more feeling

i think GW2 should have 2 choices Gun and Bow and about Gun better use old modern Gun.

Yeah.. "Huh" pretty sums up my reaction to that post too...

I just want to use a magical gunner class, one that uses energy or mana or something to shoot, as well as using other spells as well. I'd be like a magic cowboy *fantasizes*

Same here, I can't stand any mmo that has guns.

So don't freakin' use them. In the case of WoW, guns and motorbikes make perfect sense, seeing as theres an ENGINEERING PROFESSION, as well as other "motorized" contraptions. In the case of GW2, my opinion stands as well, if you don't like it...don't do it. Guns in GW2 makes perfect sense as well. Based on the concept art, the Charr have advanced themselves quite nicely, almost to a steampunk type of community...guns fit perfectly. As for the Asura, I wouldn't be surprised to see projectiles shooting from from Golems, much in the fashion of the siege devouers.

Bottom line is, if you don't like guns and/or motorbikes in your MMO, nobody is forcing you to use them.

Weak analogy.  You can easily get through any fantasy mmo without using guns ever.  There's usually only 1 class that can use them and they often have other options too.  Guns are never a main feature of the game, just a detail.

Haha no. That's like telling someone who likes cars and not violence to play Need For Speed. If they really don't like violence, why are they considering GTA? I like your logic.

What they ment was that they didnt really want guns in the game at all, no matter who used them....... cause they felt it ruined the fantasy feel for em!! The dude then answers.. well U dont have to use em.  But they ll still be there and kinda mess up the whole feeling of the game..

The GTA analogy was just what first popped in to my mind and I thought it was funny seeing someone just standing there lookin at the cars.. LawL now go bake a pie!

My point is, the game has perfectly valid reasons for the guns to be there, so their argument is void. A game that has lore supporting something, can't ruin the setting seeing as it's part of the setting.

What does that have to do with anything?  I really don't see your "this is immersion breaking" point in that statement.  Guns are in the game because it makes SENSE for them to be in the game.  In fact, I would be disgruntled to NOT find them in the game after 250 years of innovation since the first game.  The only explanation for GW2 to not have them would be if they went through some sort of collapse (similar to the fall of the Roman Empire) and the entire damn continent of Tyria fell into some sort of Dark Ages period which was prohibitive to the innovation and invention of technology due to some oppressive overlord or cult-faction which held sway throughout the region.

I like guns if they are well done. Something like this:

The game had a lot of Pistol / Rifles skills. Quite interesting. Even skills for melee weapons mixed with a pistol.

Whereever you have Wizards and Rangers, guns will not be overpowered. image

i think the shooing in those videos is a little too fast for this though

Hoping that there are sniper-esque skills. We have already seen artillery skills, sniper ones shouldn't be too far fetched.

The over-the-top anime style is kinda cheesy and ruins the whole feel of the weapons imo.  I'd rather it be more realistic, excluding having to reload.

I think Reloading will definitely be in.  I linked some concept art for what guns would be, and there were multiple examples of different types of reloading different weapons.

I hadn't given those pics much thought first time I saw em, also looks like they'll definitely have different ammo types, to.

This makes the gunner class a lot more appealing imo.

I loved the guns the Witch guy in WAR had, they seemed to fit in very well in that fantasy setting.

Shame about the rest of the game, but yeah, guns work well if done right.

If anyone's played Borderlands.  I get the feeling the "different ammo types" might be something like that.  Where the bullets do a certain type of damage and every time they hit, there's a chance they will cause an elemental effect according to the bullet's type (like a fire bullet might proc an immolate effect on the target).  Except the guns will most likely be one-two shot guns with maybe 1/4 of a sec between each shot/2 shots for reload time.

I'm not really fond of procs, I didn't mind it in borderlands since it was much more fast paced and proccing didn't make much of a difference. I'd be ok with a elemental bullet doing more damage to a mob weak against the an element and less damage against a mob that's more resistant to it.
