It looks amazing but as mentioned before so did the Aion trailer.Everything shown the Aion trailer was ingame o/in-engine that was obvious but did it ever make it into the game so far and after all this time? The awnser is no
It does not matter 1 bit who is the dev it is the publisher that stages these things.Devteams jump through hoops to keep their publisher (AKA: the hand that feeds them) happy.But i do hope that this time they actually do deliver.

In GW Santa comes down the chimney in the form of Grenth and Dwayna. In GW2 santa comes n the form of a dragon that wants to give you epic lewts... wait till gamescom, hear the impressions and also see the gameplay for yourself.

Awesome trailer! Like I said it may bring back some of the magic that MMOs lost when it took over in place of D&D PnP. I will be buying this and SWTOR. Why you say? Why not? It's not like GW2 is gonna be charging me a sub for it. Once I buy it I own it and I don't have to worry about "catching up". So I will play SWTOR with my buddies first, then relax to some GW2 in my downtime......kill another MMORPG....don't make me laugh....that's like sayng the release of Deus Ex2 will kill Portal 2.....retarded prediction at best. Unless I'm limited to one game per lifetime.

aion 3.0 was what ncsoft dreamed of coming into aion in the distant future, they said so themselves
This manifesto trailer is all gameplay and ingame skills that will be avaible on release, there is no hope or dreaming going on here, its all cold hard GW2
Actually no that's not how it works. The people who may do that would be NCsoft west which is mostly comprised of former A-Net staff anyway. NCsoft's purpose has and always will be to just provide the funds. A-Net doesn't even answer directly to them but to NCsoft west which as I said before is mostly comprised of former A-net staff. A-net develop and promote their own game.
It might not kill the game, but it might be the one you end up spending more of your time with.

That true. And the fact that NCsoft is the primary billing site for the games, whether its for billing on subscriptions like Aion or adding a game to your account.
Arena.net and Guildwar2.com is the primary advertising site.
I did play 1.9 and was banned, so no I haven't played 2.0
I have a lvl 50 chanter....... I know the game and know what the trailer means. Does not change the fact that it is just a trailer.
Any instances are bad, more or less. WoW was the start of games calling themselves MMO that weren't really MMOs. And yes, I've read a lot about the game, so far its been all talk, and a few cinematic gameplay trailers.

I don't think NCSoft controls whether someone is banned from the game or not in Guild Wars. I'm pretty sure that's up to Anet. And Anet bans for botting, that much I know. So don't bot in Guild Wars, not a good idea. 3700 accounts were banned for botting a few months ago. But NCSoft is merely the publisher of the game, not the developer. Anet is the company that controls the rules of the game.
Gamescom is next week, PAX is in 3.... we'll wait and see..

Well I spend more time in life doing things other than playing video games, does that have any bearing on the fact that I still consider myself a dedicated gamer? All I'm saying that the "kill this mmo, kill that MMO argument" that the fanatics like to spew when they pledge holy allegiance to these temperary distractions of life need to be brought into perspective before they hurt themselves or worse another.
Sweet trailer I say! I'll definitely buy it. They I will play it. Then I will move on. But to praise all thee thy holy in our darkest hour.....no....that I will not participate in.

LOVE IT.. I got tears in my eyes I'm not going to lie... I may be pathetic but oh well. This MMO is just shaping up to be everything I've ever hoped for. A few things:
00:48 - zoning via portals. there other screenshots of these portals and this portal is for sure leading outside the city gate.
01:08 - The girl on the bottom definately looks like a Mesmer.
02:02 - Also it looked liked Assassin was revealed in the concept art. I too do not think that is a Ranger with the black and white outfit duel weilding daggers.
02:55 - Really looks like a dwarf even if it's not.
03:02 - ArenaNet said people don't just stand there when we are given a quest.. but look at all the villagers just standing around stretching as their city burns lol. (not complaining.. it's just funny.)
03:29 - The way he is dressed I really think that Asura is an engineer. Not the one in the golem the one watching over the fight.
03:40 - The enemy rat throws a gernade. (It's an old video but I never noticed that before.)
03:59 - You can make out the look out of a ship.. implying that area is that area that is drained of water or Orr maybe?
04:34 - big spider in the background
For me it's only one reason really, community
This is an MMO and will have separate servers/worlds with a number of players on it, as time goes by some players leave and new ones arrive but the community persists... or as anyone that has played MMO's for at least the last 8 years or so has discovered if the number of players leaving is too high then the community suffers making the game a lot less fun to play. Server/World mergers, though sometimes necessary, tends to accentuate this. Even a very good game or one where things are improving dramatically will suffer from players leaving in large numbers, this is much more likely to happen with a very high hype level.
If the game sux it doesn't really matter, you're out $50-60 (or $120 if you got a second copy for the wife) but it's not the end of the world, if it's a good game that you could enjoy for years with online friends it does matter.
