Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the box art and the details of the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm. According to the press release, the CE will only be available at retail outlets and will contain an art book, an in-game pet, a behind the scenes DVD and more.
Art of the Cataclysm art book, featuring 176 pages of never-before-seen images from the archives of the Blizzard Entertainment cinematics department and the World of Warcraft development team, as well as progressive visuals from multiple stages of development.
Exclusive in-game pet: he may not be a breaker of worlds just yet, but Lil' Deathwing will still proudly accompany heroes on their struggle to save Azeroth from his much, much larger counterpart.
Behind-the-scenes DVD with over an hour of developer interviews and commentaries, as well as a special Warcraft retrospective examining the rich gaming history of the Warcraft universe.
Soundtrack featuring 10 epic new tracks from Cataclysm, including exclusive bonus tracks.
Special-edition mouse pad depicting Deathwing menacing the ravaged continents of Azeroth.
World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards, including a 60-card starter deck from the Wrathgate series, two extended-art cards, and two Collector's Edition-exclusive hero cards, marking the first appearance of goblin and worgen heroes in the TCG.
The expansion will come in at $79.99.

I'm ready to pre-order. I'm so weak.
The only reason why people buy the Collector's Edition is really just for the ingame pet, everything else is just for Collectors sakes.
I will order one...if nothing else the Cd is worth it.
Official page link works fine now.
I never pre ordered the other 3. I don't plan to miss this one. To many nice things in it. Love the soundtrack, love the mousepad since I need a new one, love the art, love the ingame pet, and I play the card game from time to time, so love the trading cards. Very worth it.
Thanks I'll pass, normal edition is good enough.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
Did I read it correctly? The full expansion set (including all the expansions?)
I don't have anymore room. QQ. I guess i'll bump into the collector's edition by accident like the last two.
Already preordered but not sure I want the collectors or not.
Even though I won't be getting cata, one of the big reasons I enjoy getting a collectors is the music. I've listened to much of the new music on youtube, and I can't say it's that great or any improvement over the old stuff in the least.
If it's the full WoW expansion set then it's definitely worth it in case you don't have one of the previous expansions.
I dont' have any of the other CE editions of WoW, so I see no reason to break with tradition. It is a nice box-o-stuff though. I didn't look at everything included, but with all of the recent account thiefts, an Authenticator would have been a nice addition to the package.
My opinion.
can't... resist... :'(
Definitely picking it up to go along with my other three CE's.
This looks to be the best CE by far, stoked.
I agree the authenticator woulda been awesome with cataclysm inspired art with maybe deathwing on it or something.
Alright ...I'm weak too...I'll get it...LOL!!!!
lawl, so many suckers...
Game DVD: dur
Behind the Scenes: who cares
Pet: meh
Mouse Pad: Teflon Pad > that POS
TCG: because you can never get enough WoW....lol
Art: meh, who cares about concept drawings
Soundtrack: it'll be a "@320kbps"-torrent by the end of the week
Just a bunch of useless trinkets that are NOT worth an extra 20 bucks
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall.
ha! mousepad?
I tell ya what... you switch the pad for an authenticator... and you have one sold. Mousepad... what you flip it over and you see a gecko with Geico in big blue letters? Nothing but a free pen in my opinion.
The rest is just "fluff".. give me the shwag I can USE. Blizz up and down advocates authenticators yet they cant include one with this release. Makes little sense.
The music cd would be all I would be interested in.. if that.
boooo!

Damn that much for a CE expansion? No thanks I'll spend 75 on a soon to be released game.
Agreed.
F the mouse pad and give out Authenticators instead.
Then again they know a ton of people will buy the CE as it is now anyway, so they can still get away with selling the authenticator to them later.
I mean hell, if anything, dont include the actual authenticator in the CE, but rather a Blizzard Card that you can redeem for one. That way if you already have one, you can gift the card to a friend.
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
THIS^^
So brilliant this idea. Not only does it help Blizz by eliminating restored accnt hassles.. it PROMOTES thier enthusiasm for players to get on board with the program should they not have one.
smart reply.

None of that looks like it justifies the $80 price tag. As was mentioned before, the soundtrack will be torrented in the first 24 hours, you can buy a mouse pad (who stil uses those? I haven't in years) for less than the difference between the x-pac and CE, no authenticator, and who needs anohter useless pet that you have to call out everytime you load?
Purely fanyboy fodder, and not worht the extra $30 bucks, assuming the x-pac will go for $50 that is, if you ask me.
I'm not that into's CE's, although the art book alone may be worth it if you're into that sort of thing. It's actually a nice set of extras for what it will probably cost (the book by itself is probably 20 bucks).
Im sold...
RIP Orc Choppa
Pre ordered, just hope that with battle.net it doesnt matter if ti a Euro or US cd key haha.
Main reason is for the book obviously ahha.
