Other companies had no problems releasing OB to everyone ... and it works out well for them.

You can post whever you like of course. However did you notice I didnt add an option for not getting it? Reason I did that was to maybe keep flaming away as many post here have become flame wars (that I have paticipated in no denying but its nto that I like to). I like gettong votes and seeing what people are going to do what your race class etc. etc. Nad its the same thing here I had thought less people even here would have gone for the CE and more for the Pre Order of the regular edition but its seems I was wrong. That 8 day head start seems to be the clincher.

Don’t waste your breath with this guy, i have explained to him 100 times that his beef is with File Planet and not SE but he just fails to get that.

Urgghhhhh I don't know... I'm so conflicted about this... I want both of them but I don't want to buy both of them.. which is why I haven't ordered either of them!

You wanted my time, so I played you. You wanted my money, I forked it over. You wanted my soul, I gave it willingly. Not to complain... but when do I get my end of the deal? And no, I don't want your flippin' carrot. If you can't do that give me back my youth and keep the change. Why don't you try chasing your own damn carrot for a change? I'll gladly hold the stick.

Just go with the CE. I hear the SE goggles probably have charges on them, and they become useless after a while.

I actually canceled my SE order and just kept my CE, once I analyzed it rationally.

Just the fact that you get the security token, and the 8 day head start, is probably enough reason, considering all the tokens are currently sold out, and who knows when they'll be back.

Early access, nothing else matters. Ive never seen a CE preorder item used more than a week with any real impact on gameplay anyways. I wont even bother using whatever it is, I'll be too busy leveling/gathering to care.

CE for the Early access, not even sure what else you get with it.  Just hoping the whole gamepad / mouse issue won't be a disappointment.

    Play: -
Played: FFXIV, WAR, Allods, Aion, AoC, DDO, EQ2, GW, Lotro, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WoW

Unfortunately I got the collectors edition on pre-order. I just hope this game is gonna be good enough to keep me playing until GW2 or TOR comes out.

NO pvp= Not a happy customer... but then again it was always said this is a pve game so can't be too mad about it.

I did enjoy all the FF games when I was a kid growing up, I hope I can sit down and enjoy this one.

CE made more sense to me, 8 day free head start and 30 day free gameplay so the extra money evens itself out.

Unless of course the regular game has 30 days free, but then I still get the 8 day bonus and my brother and his buddies are and my friend are all going with the CE.

I didn't know the CE gave 30 days free play. That is tempting, and it's not the most expensive CE i've seen out of MMOs either.

If you haven't played FFXI, I will say that (unless you hate console games) the control + keyboard is actually kind of relaxing. I was thrown off by it a bit in FFXI, but I came to enjoy it fairly quickly. I wouldn't say that I'd like it if all MMOs went this route, but for FF it works.

I'm hoping I can get some beta keys before making a decision on whether or not to buy this game.

I recently got my hands on the beta - and I have to say that the control problems are quite exaggerated imo.  If you played FFXI without problems then you won't have that much trouble adjusting to the FFXIV control scheme.  The only bit of awkwardness is that you'll sometimes want to use the mouse to control the camera or target things, and sometimes the keyboard - depending on the situation.  Most people probably recommend the gamepad because it would allow you to get around the need to worry about moving your hands at all while controlling, but I can see myself playing just fine without one.

Navigating menus is another story, but I expect those to be streamlined - or atleast greatly reduced ui lag at launch or shortly thereafter.

P.S. - I recommend learning how to make macros in the game quickly if you plan to switch between classes often.

I'm def gonna have to order a gamepad for this , i can see that already.

Yep, the CE has a 30 day free trial. Thought all games had this, but the regular edition doesn't mention that on the site. Just says 30 day gameplay for CE plus those 8 early pre release days , I guess. So , if I am correct than I would have spend as much money anyhow if I bought the regular edition and then had to pay 15 dollar for game time.

Good to know. I expect the controls to be fairly similar to FFXI. I was comfortable with that, and when I had to play the game w/ out a gamepad I was able to manage, though I was more comfortable w/ the gamepad for that game. I'm also very used to macroing, so I'm glad that's still in. I used to main a BLM, so I was very used to macroing timed spells for bursts =P.

If you don't mind messaging me, may I ask your thoughts on the game so far?
