For the last 45 minutes or so, all I've gotten is the Servor Error screen. I've been able to get my key, actually log in once, but when I tried to apply it, I timed out. Since then it's been the error screen. So I would imagine they got heavily flood and may have crashed. Who knows though, just have to wait and see.

Actually, Im dead serious. I have been able to get into my account with very few problems and as soon as I clicked the Apply for Beta link, it took me to another login. I logged in and then it gave me that error message.

Maybe I'd be prepared to believe you if I had any firsthand reason to believe it's possible to get past the "server is congested" page. The way you've been claiming to cut through the congestion everybody else is encountering doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless perhaps you're the Moses of the Internet, able to part packets with a wave of your hand.

"We have an important announcement to the testers who have participated in FINAL FANTASY XIV Closed Beta Test.
Between 19:00 and 19:50 (PDT) on Sep. 1, 2010, an incorrect notice saying "Participants of closed beta test do not need to obtain new registration code for the open beta test." was being made on FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test Application Site.
Participants of closed beta test also need to obtain and register dedicated registration code for the open beta test. Please follow the directions listed in the mail "Guide to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test," which was sent to the participants of closed beta test on Aug. 31, 2010, and obtain the registration code from FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test Application Site.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
So, not only have they apparently not suspended their applications, they're sending even more players to clog their badly clogged servers.
im in, but my husband is having an error after he hits play and gets to the part where he can create a character. Its telling him there is something wrong in his acct and to log into square enix, which he did and FFXIV is there and all registered. Anyone having this problem?
After receiving my key via email I was able to get past the server error page by logging in from http://member.square-enix.com/na/ -> account center -> SQUARE ENIX Account Management -> select service and was able to add my key.
It was more like 12....and skillz :P not that hard to click through tabs hitting refresh OR coping and hitting control + v into the address bar over and over.

It's been congested lately, but keep trying and you should eventually get in. Just scroll to the bottom of the page once you select your region, and click on the Apply for open beta tab and then go from there. Good luck!

i was able to confirm region and etcc but then when i had to go on the apply page i just got the error page X_X
but yea i just go and open like 10 window in new Tab and keep refresh spam till one go trought XD its how i was able to make progress
