Guys one way to get the patches manually is go over to C:Users<your username>DocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-betad96437e6metainfo, then use the torrent files inside, the BT client by SE is a failure, its better for you to use a 3rd party BT client to download those patches, then once finish downloading paste the patch files in C:Users<your username>DocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-betad96437e6patch
After that load your client again to have it patch.
Yeah, Arch... that's how I got the client. For me, the SE patcher was a complete failure, to the tune of going unresponsive for several seconds every 10s.
I'm still seeding the patch files.

hmmm...did the trick from ffxcore and managed to log in for 5mins. then game lagged out and crashed. Now i cant even get to char select before the game goes unresponsive
Anyone else having issues with the patcher right now? I was able to log in this morning and create a character, but at the time the server had a 400 long queue so I quit. Tried logging back on an hour later and the patcher started up, got to around 50% and stopped.
Just wondering if they tried pushing a fix out just now?

Did you try restarting? (Silly, but it's amazing how many problems this simple thing can fix). Also, are you overclocking at all? Sometimes that can upset your computer stability and cause things to "stop working", especially if they put a lot of pressure on your resources.

The servers are down apparently. I guess either for maintenance or problems. Everyone is getting the 13001 error or whatnot.

Alright thanks, so the maintenance was legit? It isn't because I have the wrong file or version, or any of that, it was going on for everyone?

It seemed to download alright (at least the file is in the correct folder) but when it finished, the patcher timed out. Now I get a timeout whenever the version checker starts.

Yeah, means that the patch server is down most likely. Just gonna have to wait a few hours or something (hopefully shorter) for it to come back up. They are fixing it so that more people can log in to the lobby at a time. Supposedly it was below the desired threshold...

The game crashed after i created my character
now the moment i click on start ... the client crashes:( and get the error 1015

It took me about an hour or so to get my key applied last night and I FINALLY got to get into the game and see what it was all about.
It's been posted in other spots, but just to repost, you can use uTorrent to download the files (a LOT faster).
For me in Windows 7 using
as my main drive. You may need to change 
to C: or whatever your drive is.
Open utorrent and go to File > Add Torrent, then go to this directory:
D:UsersYOURNAMEDocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-betad96437e6metainfo
The 2 patches that we are currently stuck on are the D2010.09.02.2000 and D2010.09.02.2001, so add those torrents.
And when utorrent prompts you to place the file somewhere put it in:
D:UsersYOURNAMEDocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-betad96437e6patchd96437e6patch
Then just run the beta launcher and it'll have them all download and will install/patch.
Works the same for the older patches, too. =]
