Its pathetic they werent ready for this btw. Just pathetic.
Ever think that they may have done this for a reason? They needed to stress test the servers and what better way than to do it during open beta? This provides them with valuable information regarding traffic they should expect when the game launches.
Maybe, but to me it makes an aweful bad first impression.
But this is a beta test. It's suppose to be broken so that SE knows what to fix for the game's launch. If things like this happen once the game goes live, I'll be right here agreeing with you. Until then, as much as I wanted to try the game a bit longer, I don't have an issue with it going down.
Yes but it shouldn't be this broken 3 weeks before launch. I think this game is going to have a rather rough launch.
Actually, it should. I know that at this point in time an open beta is basically a demo of the game but in actually an open beta is used as a stress test in order to set up the proper hardware and software ready for launch. There was no way for SE to really predict the amount of servers and bandwith they would need when everyone started hitting F5 so they had to do it this way in order to set the hardware and the bandwith for when the game launches.
I'm not a fanboi of the game at all, you can actually check my post history and see that I am actually very critical of the game. However, I know the difference between a stress test beta and the actual released game.
