But mainly I think the complaints about lack of content is because ffxiv doesn't do anything to disguise the quests. In other games, like WoW, you'd get quests with lame little stories along with them, many of which didn't even make sense (not that anybody read them anyway).
The first time around, almost everyone reads them. They make perfect sense, and many are plays on words, have great pop culture references, and are generally humorous and interesting.
They all amounted to the same thing- killing a bunch of mobs. The main difference being that in ffxiv, all the quests originate in one place, there's easy transportation to and from the quest-starting points, and there's little story invovled. As far as what you're actively doing, it's the same.
Completely incorrect. There were plenty of kill x, there was also collect x off mobs, collect x off of interactive objects, escort character to a certain location, provide npc with specific crafted item, explore a certain area/cave, defend point from incoming mobs, etc etc etc. What's amazing is that many mmos incorporate several of these quest types, but ffxiv is so backwards it's hard to find a serious p2p mmo that has a similar lack of content.
I personally like it this way because it's convenient if I only have an hour or two and want to still progress and I don't have to run 10 minutes to turn in one quest. You turn them in right where you complete them.
So all this time when fanboys were telling dissenters that their problem is that they weren't sophisticated enough to appreciate ffxiv's fine use of inconvenient UI, they were completely wrong. Instead ffxiv is in actuality the fast food of mmo gaming, not WoW. Interesting reversal.

1. Well I guess I was the only one that didn't read the latest excuse why I had to collect 10 bandanas or 10 boar tusks. In any case, I hardly think lamely written quests = "content". Btw, there are quest descriptions on the cards for leve quests, but I don't read those either.
2. I don't know where you're getting all the other quest kinds. Remember we're talking level 1-10 here. We're not talking about 3rd expansion WoW level 70 quests vs. level 7 ffxiv play experience with 3 abilities (although actually I guess you are...). Btw, if you think collect x is really way different then kill x, well, your idea of content is really different than mine. Not surprising since you're such a WoW fanboi.
3. Interesting reversal? Way to talk about the UI when we're talking about content. For the record, I prefer the UI in ffxiv (once they fix the lag) while playing with a controller. I was never a fan of the "watch the UI box cooldown" game.
4. How is saying that it's convenient to turn in a quest right where you complete it an "excuse"? If anything, you're making excuses for the fact that you need to run 10 minutes to turn in each quest in WoW, saying that the time spent running is "content" or something. LOL.
You act like the way ffxiv plays wasn't a design decision. It would take the Devs about 2 days to stick a bunch of NPCs all over and make us run back and forth to them, and write out lame quest stories, but they don't want the game playing that way. It's different than WoW, so I guess that means it's bad to you.
GTFO out and go grind some BGs for marks and enjoy your "content".

Maybe you're relatively new to forums, but protip: you should probably do more to clarify about what you're giggling about. I don't know if you're slamming the game or supporting it here. All the video seems to say is, "Woah! I can heal while fighting! Cool!" Which is kinda off-topic.
