Originally posted by robbykl1415 First off I would like to say please no one flame for having a opinion. So I have been playing WoW for about 4-5 months now. I got it for xmas and have been playing non-stop ever since. I think I have played every race and every class to at least level 10 (but have played many long past level 10). And before I got the game I had done a lot of research on it, I didn't just go out and buy it. And I had to say that when I first got it I was itching to play it. And of course my internet went out, so I had to wait 2 weeks for it to get fixed. So finally the guy comes out and fixes it, I was so excited to play. Now granted I am a pretty experienced MMO player, but I was extra excited about this one.
Too much of anything nonstop is bad. Go get some air LOL

Man you guys are stupid. All you trying to blow on me cuz I said I played it non-stop for 4-5 months are stupid. It's a freaking figure of speach dumbash. I didn't mean I sat inside all day and played it I meant that when I had free time I did. And I didn't level an average of lvl 10 I said I at every char to AT LEAST LVL 10, but many far past it.
And no I am not trying to get people to play the same game as me, I was jsut puting out there some info for anyone who was going to get the game. Through that whole post if you read it I usually said "in my opinion" or "to me" or something of that nature, and if I didn't i certainly meant to.
*Edit*
I changed it and I apologize for it. Just a little aggravated.

Mister Board Moderator. Is it not unfair to chastise the poster for defending himself when he is merely pointing out that those who have been unfairly characterizing him as having no life and/or deliberately been saying he doesn't know what he is talking about are a bit intellectually challenged? I don't think it's fair to chastise him. He isn't the one who began the line of insulting posts but is, rather, defending himself. Granted he is being a tad blunt but he is correct. He never stated that he averaged level 10 (I myself pointed that out 2 pages back but people chose to ignore that fact).
I think that if you are going to threaten to deal with his post you should likewise deal with the posts that were fairly insulting to the poster himself as well.

I've been very dissapointed with the new MMORPG games recently launched, WoW, EQ2 and SWG didn't get me hooked as if expected. I want to try something a bit more 'original', not a new way of grinding. Any advice?
When will everyone realize that apparently the easier the game, the less challenge and the less thinking you have to do, the better the game is! WoW has an extremely quick level grind and nothing to complicated or involved, so that makes it the best MMO. However, a company one-ups them and makes an even faster level grind, even simpler game mechanics and there you go, the next sliced bread. I swear, in the next thread i see someone asking for a free MMO, with fast leveling, PvP and great graphics I'm gonna tell them to buy Unreal Tournament. That seems to have everything they want.

Not exactly what i would call challenging. Infact it only took 10 days from launch for the first player (xenif) to reach level 60 after the US launch. Someone did it after the EU launch in 9 days. For games that are supposed to be long-term affairs, getting to the level cap in 10 days then endlessly grinding through the same couple raid instances doesn't sound like much fun.
For traditional singleplayer games with 20 hours of gameplay this would be great, but for a game that you would hope would be entertainment for months if not years leaves me unimpressed.
Sure someone will say that they have content updates. This has become the standard way for developers to launch products that have little or no elder-game content with the promise that it will come later.
Then there are those people who claim that the people who raced through the content in 10 days are lifeless nerds who need to spend more time in the sun and make friends. To them i respond that the hottie girls at the mall don't care that the other guy has a lvl 60 paladin and you only have a lvl 34 paladin. To them you are both lifeless nerds.
Finally, there are plenty who will point out that the game makers need to keep making content to keep the world fresh. Here's an idea: instead of making worlds that are persistent and static (by static i mean you can't burn down the trees, or take over the castle, or when you kill the black dragon he doesn't respawn in exactly 5 minutes at the same map coordinates) make worlds that are persistent and dynamic. That way players actions impact the world in a real and meaningful way. The upshot of this is that players -- whether they know it or not -- create drama and gameplay. They are infact creating the content as they go along. Why should someone sitting in an office cubicle be the one inventing the story. I (as a player) want to be the one making the story through my actions in the game world.
I wonder how many others have noticed that nearly all persistent state worlds are roughly the equivalent of watching a movie. The movie has a story with a beginning a middle and an end. Nothing i can do as the movie goer to affect what happens. Similarly, in most MMOs there's a story with a beginning, a middle, and an end. Just like the movie nothing i do can effect the story. To me this is one of the worst failings of most MMOs.

Me it took a month of none stop play (5+ hours generally a day) to get to 60. But I did instances, farmed drops. and did PvP
Wow is the kinda game, that if you really pushed you could get 60 in 2 weeks ish (or less if your like the afore mentioned people who did it in 10-9 days (just so you know they grind shifts with buddies, so the char is effectivly grinding 24-7))
There is a lot to do, not much crafting wise, but it terms of PvE and PvP i find it fun.
Wow has kept my attention since christmas, which is the longest I have ever played a MMORPG, and with the PvP rewards patch that just came out, I have gone back to playing as much as I can. Really, WoW gets a lot of bad rep on forums, for one simple reason. The 1.5+ Million people who enjoy the game, are ingame playing not on the forums talking about it =D
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
