?  I really didnt understand this.

As a female that has played many mmo's I have to say WOW is one of my favorites.  I have played many games, many of them from beta, WOW is the first one that I can honestly say I love playing.

J-Monster, I quoted Firemagic and was talking to him. He knows the post I am refering to, the fact you don't means you don't have all the facts so should avoid replying..although not having the facts never stopped you before don't know why this would be different.

As far as "us EQ2 types coming here and bashing WoW" please highlight the part of my post where I said something negative about WoW. Hmm, gross generalzations Mr. Hypicrit? I think so.

Firemagic called me out by name. I am resoponding, otherwise I never would have.

"I personally have to read EVERY quest unless ive done it before."

    This explains a lot.

chicks who play wow are hot<3

    do any chicks play eq2?

why you keep bringing the quests up? you have to read them....where the fuck are you going to go to do them? isnt wow the best questing system ever developed for mmorpgs at this point of time?  its basically derived from AO(instancing) and then CoH made it awesome last year....and yes there's go kill some shit or fed ex quests, but theres couple more.

last time i played eq2 back in october, the waypoint shit was broke and i couldnt even tell where to take my quests too(it was a pain)....what made me like wow was that i could walk thru town and see the people i needed to take the quests to either on my mini map or by the "?" above their heads.....btw, i played eq2 before i even tried wow.

    whats yur point?

  • ajaxxajaxx Member Posts: 476
Yeah, not really sure where he's going with the quest thing.  I usually read the whole text since the summary omits the story and usually some important information.  Maybe I'm just being dumb and should just try running around and clicking on stuff.

    LOL.

You can "repharse" all you like. The discussion regarded your assertion that a player can complete every quest in WoW without reading the full text.

You asked me to prove you wrong, and I did.

No amount of pouting or teddy-tossing, or even "repharsing" is gonna change that.

Thanks for making the effort though.

Um, no its not the best quest system ever. its pretty average. theres no story at all in the game so the quests are not important (w00t i saved the world by killing 15 wolfs, thats not a story).

    Jodokai give it a rest.

No one on the WoW forums cares about what you EQ2 fanbois have to say. Obviously you have nothing positive to say about that awful game on your own forums so you come here to spit poison.

I've been wanting to play WoW for a long time now, but have never gotten around to buying it. My parents don't encourage me to play games, especially considering that they think I play TOO much, and that I need to keep my straight A's in school. One of these days I'll rack up the courage to ask one of them if they will buy me WoW. I don't know when though.

Arent children sweet? Thank you for that heart warming post killer.

Anyways, from past experiences I have learned that you do have to be on top of your game to argue with firemagic. I remeber when we argued for like a week straight. I feel I got the best of him, but that's just me. Jodokai, while I agree with you it appeard fire has won this round. Keep fighting the good fight though!

First, Jorev, coming from this biggest EQ2 forum troll you're the worst guy to be saying anything.

Jodokai give it a rest?? I never would have been here if Firemagic couldn't get over the one time he's ever been right, and drag me into it.

Oh and you're starting a little late to be keeping score. You missed the first 60-70 times I've burned Firemagic.

Oh and Saigon you're right he got me once. I could go into how I meant that you could go to level 60 without ever reading one quest, but that wasn't really worth it. I decided to give Firemagic his one chance to be right and I just let it go. Then he decides to keep bringing it up.

Hi :). I was one of the reviewers the Op commented about.
No, I'm not from another gaming company. I played Open Beta, and been playing since release. At this point in time I've been 60 for 28 /played days (got to 60 at /20 played) so its more time being level 60 than i've been leveling, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm playing with a high end PvE guild (Doing Onyxia, Kazzak, Azuregos, MC up to Majordomo) ::::02::
The game gets kinda boring once you hit 60. Customer support is STILL a piece of crap, but at least now the patching process seems to be more streamlined.
And for the record, I played the EQ2 trial and all I can say is that the game is ugly, slow, bad animation, bad movement, non-immersive, and just plain all around disgusting ::::07:: .
I still think their customer support sucks. With the new addition of the Honour System (as in 6 months after the release, when it was supposed to be released with Battlegrounds too) it might be a bit less boring.

Can this be ANY MORE obvious. Clearly WoW is far superior to any MMORPG out there...ever. I find it extrememly fun to play--whether I'm grinding with buddies, questing, or auctioning goods at the auction house (a fantastic in-game ebay). I don't know what evercrack these guys are smoking, but what could he mean by, "...kinda fun, until you get to the max level (which doesn't take long)." Are you high. How long do you guys play a day--10 hours? Maybe THEN it would still take months to get to level cap.  But the majority of people I've talked to on forums are 18-30, and we have full-time jobs. I've been playing for almost a month, and I'm only at lvl 20. And it's starting to take a lot longer to lvl up now...

These people must have been payed to say these things. I would like them to explain to me which mmorpg IS worth buying; since WoW is so UN-fun, I wonder which game they DO play.

Don't be swayed by these ludicrous statements--WoW is fantastic, and that is why it's #1.

LOL. I wouldnt trust the opinion of a 20 warrior.  You havnt seen all this game has yet, so dont talk until ya do.....

I had a 60 mage on whisperwind, and yes this game IS VERY FUN.... until you hit 55+.

At 55 - You start to realize there is hardly any more content for you, and you have probably soloed almost all your lvls. Unless you run instances alot

At 60 -  You raid for ridiculus drop rates and it just gets more and more boring each timd you do..... no fun.

So if you plan on playing a MMO that can keep you interested for YEARS, try FFXI - EQ - or DAOC.  WoW is a good choice for casual players.

-Nytur retired 60 Mage of whisperwind.

--Nyture, Arc Convoker of fironia vie server (EQ) --Retired--
-- Nytur 39 Conjuror of Lucan D'lere (Quit due to low populations)
-- Currently playing WoW while waiting for vanguard
    Explorer 66%
    Socializer 60%
    Killer 53%
    Achiever 20%

PLEASE SOE MAKE A CLASSIC EQ SERVER. Shadow of luclin was a prick in EQs side. PoP Was a gun to the face.

I'm a AI programmer and system design constructor and my opinions differ severely (sorry). From a mechanical standpoint, the game is hideously flawed.

YES, the game is gorgeous and has a lot of appeal to it, but once you start getting into the core mechanics and gameplay, you find so much wrong with its structure. The AI system is well, lame. It isn't so much poorly programmed, because it isn't, it is just intentionally lazy. Instead of making a unique enemy structure, you have several dozens of aggressive mobs packed into one area, no passive enemies at higher levels, and a frustrating solo portion of the game.

Soloing in this game is definitely possible, but it's one of the most teeth gritting experiences around.

J-monster you're an idiot. I don't know any other way to say it. I want you to read this line again:

"First, Jorev, coming from this biggest EQ2 forum troll you're the worst guy to be saying anything"

Now read it slowly and sound out the tough words. Now point to the part where I say J-Monster is a troll. Oh wait you can't, because I didn't say it. I even say the name of who I'm talking to and about, and you're still too dense to get it.

If my posts are repeditive it's because you're too dumb to understand it the first time I say it.

WoW is number one for a reason, not because its a game for casual gamers and it looks and plays good at first then gets boring. Its number 1 cuz its fun. Remember that? Those of you who play EQ2 and Lineage2 (games i used to subscribe to) and some others, might not remember how fun games can be. WoW is fun beyond compare and the questing is as fun and enjoyable as any game out there. I have played them all since pong also, Ive played every RPG u can name and World of Warcraft does the genre Extremely proud image Bow down and save your fingers, Im at work right now or youd never see me posting, ask your self this, why are you posting here to diss WoW instead of playing those other games you love so much? EQ2 has a ton of potential but its not as fun as WoW yet. WoW is number 1 and has turned the MMO community on its ear.  It rocks

really? odd. considering WoW solo experience is considered one of the best of the sector.. even from its destractors... as WoW is one of the few games in which you can solo at ALL at high levels.

Didn't notice much of a difference in this guys AI than, say, DaoC AI. at least not so far.

if you played 5 hours a day , and u worked hard during those 5 hours u could probably get lvl 55 + in a month ...or so which isn't that much ... thats like 10 levels of hardcore EQ =P . it took me like 1 month to get 60 and i messed around a lot and i have 8 hours of school everyday
