My choice is not listed. I would preorder:

    Nothing!

    Top 5 features of Nothing!:

    1. totally bug free

    2. saved money

    3. no grand dissapointment for lack of promised features

    4. no first week/month/year login issues

    5. time for something else (like checking out already released stuff)

And no, I havent preordered APB or STO. These are just two reasons more for why I don't do.

But most of the games in the poll are on my "keep an eye on it" list.

Yep, I never pre-order ANYTHING.  I let the frothers waste their money and then, 6 months down the line, if the game has a) survived b) is getting some reasonable comments from the user base I'll then download the demo.   IF- and these days it's a big "if" - the game seems worth playing, I might buy the game. Unfortunately, a few months later, I invariably unsub and bin the game.

Because MMOs these days are usually (give or take) 80% hype and 20% game.

I have never pre-ordered a game before, however based on the current market and my desire to find that new fresh game.. I have to say that Guild Wars 2 is making me think about it..  Why?

    1)  I love soft grouping..  To me mmo's is about open world play, which means anyone should be able to join in on the fun.. Boss spawns outside of town, it's time for everyone to run out there and take down the big bad boss.. NO tools like gear score or other artificial means that exclude people from public events..

    2)  Persistent World..  I have stated for years that a good mmo game should be a living evolving experience.. The dynamic events are spot on IMO

    3) NO artificial god modes.. This refers to friends being forced to play apart from each other because of some level restriction..  Games using mechanics such as side kicking, that adjust levels of players based on the group and activities is GENIUS..  I hate having to make alts so I can play with certain friends or groups because of a level restriction..

    4) The Devs have a good track record of quality.. Not like some devs houses that believe in spitting out a new game every 2 years while runing to the bank  cha ching..

    5)  Buy to play, NO monthly subscription.. Sounds intriguing..

I would not preorder any game. I might preorder either Rift: Planes of Telara or Star Wars: The Old Republic (the only two on the list I am remotely interested in) *IF* I got into beta and found that the game was fun, the performance was decent and the bugs were tolerable. Otherwise, I will wait for the rants and raves to come rolling in before I decide if I want to try any game.

I don't pre-order games. But I am definitely looking forward to Guild Wars 2.

Need a more than one choice as I plan to pre order GW2, SWTOR and Rift, especially if they offer CEs. The other games I'll play but I will try before I buy them.

My 5 reasons for voting ToR?

    1. Choices in storyline.

    2. Voice overs.

    3. it's scifi

    4. It's made by BW.

    5. The interface.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Well, listing an option with multiple choices would be enough for the poll anyway since u r only allowed 10

    I'm pre-ordering SWTOR!

What's that? Did I mind-read you saying fanboy??

  • OzmodanOzmodan Member EpicPosts: 9,726

Mark my words, you won't see SWTOR in 2011.  Bioware is just like Blizzard, you won't see the game until it is ready.

I was never a huge GW fan. But I bet out of all of them, GW 2 is going to be the most polished and finished game. I still argue the mmo phrase with GW, but whatev. I really only want to try one of them and it's GW2. The rest are eaither fairly unknown to me or severely overhyped.

    Edit: polls fixed

My vote goes for gw2 but my real vote would go for Diablo 3 collectors edition(i know it's not an mmo but hey)

Voted for SWTOR as this one i'm sure i will be buying.

    Might also consider:

GW2 - never really got into 1 due to it's heavy instancing and un-persistance [a.k.a. not being an MMO]... but details about 2 looks much more interesting.

WH40k - Maybe. Looks interesting but the available information is insufficient to make a judgment. Also it seems shooter-ish and shooter-mmo have a great track record of... imploding a few months after release. Also i doubt it releases in 2011.

TERA - Will consider it if it turns out to be not a korean grinder... but the chances of that are low :)

    Other nonlisted games:

Xyson - A sandbox with worldbuilding and more than 2 crazy developers working on it? sign me up! If they can actually get it out the door in a working state that is.

BP and/or JG:E - A space game that isn't Excell Online would be nice for a change.

Not really planning on pre-ordering anything, as I don't normally have trouble buying a game on launch day.

    FFXIV for the PS3

    1. Cause its from SE.

    2. Bugs should be worked out by the ps3 versions launch.

    3. Loved FF11

    4. Since its the PS3 i would not need a super computer to play it and i can enjoy the game on my coach and 60' led lcd like the rest of my games .. ff11 on the xbox 360 is great on my setup.

    5. Nothing else out there appeals to me personally.

For those who listed their choices and not their reasons, let us hear why you are making the choice!!!

    None.

No matter what rainbow shinies they offer. After FFXIV I'll never make that mistake with a MMORPG ever again.

That game sucked, and any new MMO that looks great in its pre-release I'll probably avoid for a few months.

Hah, I preordered a game once, never again. It's just hype, you get a bunch of bugs and full crashing servers that have to emergency patch all the time. Plus you get to see all the downsides, which are usually there, and some of them are gamebreaking. Not worth it.

  • KabaalKabaal Member UncommonPosts: 3,042

Depending on how things are looking with the game in a few months i'll pre-order SWTOR. Any other game really depends on how it turns out, assuming it releases in the spring. If it doesn't release in the spring or looks terrible when it gets close to launch ill buy others like GW2 but i won't pre-order them.

  • ElikalElikal Member UncommonPosts: 7,912

None. I am way too skeptical in ANYTHING to do preorders anymore. I wait until release day info, maybe the first few weeks. I was a fool to preorder year by year buggy, not ready or just bad games. No more!
