So I activated a ClickandBuy account last night becaues that's what FFXIV is using for their payment method.
Earlier today I received an email with the title message, and no other info, just to contact the company.
I checked my credit card online and there is a $2.50 pending charge from ClickandBuy with plenty of available credit.
I just wanted to see if it was just me, or if anyone else is having trouble with this service?

Yes,I bough CE of game and cant even start playing it coz' of Click & Buy payment method....My country does not support Crysta apparently....So i wasted 40 pounds on this game i guess!!!
yeah i have had dealings with these muppets..i opened an account and they blocked it immediately,i had to phone em to verify account and guess wot i was in a q for 30 mins..when i spoke to someone eventtually they said they were very sorry...seems to me its deliberate,hehe must be a parent company of soe..robbing b-----ds.especially when it cost you £3 for each call to them.
also if i remember correctly .if u have a new account..they go into your bank for 2 small amounts of money..you then have to input the amount they have gone in for in security tab. only then is your account activated..you have to phone your bank for the amounts that c&b have went in for.
So when on monday i call my bank i type in those 2 amounts they charged me,they will unblock my acc. or i will have to call them anyway?
Is this click and buy the credit card option ?
Is there something that prevents SE from using direct payment like every other MMO?
I had the same problem. My bank has ClickandBuy on its "Fraud Table" due to customers claiming fraudulent charges from them previously. I had to go into my bank and request that they lift the block on my bank account so I could use it.

SE has had terrible and shady Credit Card paymeny since 11, couldnt take your info off the account, and you couldnt remove your credit card info from their database, as bad if not worse then Microsoft Live service

Good lawdy.....this game just keeps digging itself into a deeper and deeper hole. I've been kind of watching posts here about it and I have to say....unless I was a HUGE FF fan.....I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole at this point. This information here was about the final nail in the casket for any consideration from me.

Yes,Click / Buy are fraud company.They charged me 100eur 2 years ago for nothing.I was fool back then,and I payed.As I said,i bought CE edition of FFXIV and I cant even play it because of their billing system.there is no other option if you are from anywhere except US,Canada,mexico,Great Britain.So be aware of that.You HAVE TO USE FRAUD COMPANY to pay for FFXIV...
I refuse to use either of the payment systems they offered up. So that's another thing on my list of things that need to be fixed before my 60 day trial runs out.
I'm playing and enjoying the game...it's just the lil things that are getting to me. The lack of an AH and clickandbuy are prolly gonna be deal breakers for me. Sad too....cuz I'd like to play this game. But I'm not gonna click on bazaars, I'm a mage so I'm not walking anywhere there's a tele crystal...and if it's not super easy to pay my fees, I won't.

When paypal, and other online financial institutions, confirmed my account they made a small deposit then had me varify it....NOT a freakin withdrawal....wtf?
I opted to use the crysta system for the trial period, which didn't involve entering a cc number...and if they don't straighten out the payment system I won't be playing past the free 60 days...*rolls eyes*

ClickandBuy was used for Dark and Light. I remember that horrible time and I had to repeatedly call them to try to get my account and payments for that mmo cancelled. I insisted on my money back and dealing with ClickandBuy lasted months, until they finally gave in and reimbursed me.
Multiply that times thousands, and I can understand why they are overly cautious. Needless to say, my account was also blocked . . .
I also got blocked with that stupid click and buy. Lukicly I mamaged to get it cancelled when I can buy crysta. Will need to keep the email they sent to me saying my account was cancelled incase of any shady charges. Where I'm at paypal could not go thru....
You don't need to verify your account with click and buy.
All you have to do is register and select a payment method through the SE account site and you are done.
Took me 3 minutes to set it up.

Uhhh, no? As messed up as SE is, I think even they expect to get paid at some point.
Uhhh, yes! You don't need to go through the whole verification process that takes money out of your account and then immediately puts it back in to pay for the game.
If you can read, it clearly states that you only need to verify if you want to use the advanced features of Click and Buy. Which part of that did you not understand?

Followed by this in your next post where you insulted my reading comprehension and quite helpfully made my point for me:

So just to be clear, what I didn't understand is where you lied about not even having to go to the Click and Buy website in order to pay for a FFXIV sub using the Click and Buy option. Is that clear enough? What part don't you understand? The part where you made crap up or the part where you contradicted yourself?
FFXIV doesn't use Paypal. If it did, I wouldn't have chosen the crysta option ( nice that you don't have to actually buy any crysta to choose the option ). No way I'd ever touch clickandbuy after the shit they pulled during the Dark and Light shenanigans.

I did never go to the website it all ran inside a frame on the SE account site. So where is this contradiction you speak of? I went there after i posted just to check if there is any information that requires me to verify. And it clearly says you only need to do that when you want to use advanced services.
So, what now?
Ahh so that is the explanation. Thank you Taus I am now happy to know this. I have not bought this game but I intend to in the future and this fact is a welcome info when I play from Europe where I bet the crysta thing will not work. So you all need to verify to use the extra features.
