BlizzCon's costume contests encourage fans to put together their best cosplay efforts, and the MMORPG.com crew was on hand to get some of the show's best on video for you.

I'm impressed with the quality of work in most of those outfits, not sure I'd agree on the winners but I applaud them all for the effort, some looked stunning.
these woman are after a model job or contract or something or hook some richnerd or businessman. wake up.
Right, cause they sure don't dress up because it's fun to make your own costume andf show it off or because you have fun.
I know that's what I aim for every Halloween, a desirable modelling gig. Too bad they ignored my portfolio after I dressed up as a cowboy last year and applied to be the new Marlborogh Man.
Strange -- I was watching Star Wars when I hit play on this, the sudden mix of both soundtracks starting at different points had me thinking my computer was breaking.
The world is a strange place if u think about it....
Few years bk u saw all sort of persons dressing up for Startrek conventions and they normally did not revive nice words from the masses for doing so....but now it seems to be all right to dress up like game characters.......
I just cant get the hang of stuff like that leave the game where it belongs in the game and at least try to get a real live outside of games....sure some of them were nice to look at not denying that but still
Maybe i am alone with my opinion maybe i just cant go with the time i dunno but if i see a person who is not payed for dressing up like that running around in there game costumes my first thought is poor thing she/he should get help

I think it is because we are geeks, would you really worry about a trekkie? Normal people still think this is really weird.
I did actually consider going to the GamesCon Guildwars contest as a male Norn, I do some re-enactment fighting myself, that is actually pretty fun and have a viking outfit (a realistic one, not the Hagar the horrible stuff Yanks seems to think they were wearing).

Nothing has changed. We're gamers on a gaming site watching videos of a gaming con.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre

By the way, that was sarcasm.
i dont see any short or big girl dressed up with a gnome mage or tauren outfit having fun, i wonder why...
NO one Likes Gnomes Anymore. Goblin>Gnome by 20times. Play Catecylsm goblins u know will know what i mean. (Uses belt to pick safe, uses belt to turn into a weed whacker... And more!)

I think it's safe to assume that there are some women who enjoy getting dressed up for these things.
There are women who are hired to wear costumes, such as the women at the Age of Conan booth at Gen Con a few years ago.
But there are also women who do cos play for the enjoyment of it. And men as well.
I actually remember seeing quite a few lovely women, dressed up, all on the arms of guys, dressed up, who looked like they needed to cut back on the pizza.
But that's just one recollection.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
I usually love watching cosplay vids from comiccon and such, but the ratio of hot chick to bridge troll is far better over there. This just speaks very poorly for the wow fanbase, because I deduce that you now have to pay models to sneak into a crowd of them in order to bring up their hotness quotient by proxy.

Got to love gamer girls. Or at least pretty models.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

Sure thing, looks like they are ready for some good old LARP

Something tells me I shouldn't be watching this on my work computer. Guess I better fire up the laptop.
Those girls are bigger nerds than we are

Do you really believe this girls play/care/know about video games?
What do you believe? Blizzard hired women to dress in costumes to compete in their own costume contest?
People like you take male-gamer chauvinism to the strangest level.

Hmm, I hope their mothers let them dress up like that or there will be trouble. Cool vid, though.

Yeah, teenage girls are really worried about what their mothers think of their clothes... Right.
But not a single one of them had a useful armor, Wow players.... I liked the girl in Starcraft armor, it was standing out.
But I would like to spar against the Wow artists in their creations against my actually practical armor and weapons, it would be fun.

This from someone who's still playing FFXIV.

Haha, there we have it folks, no qute girls play wow, they all look like priests and warlocks xD
You should watch the video then. Although not exactly a gnome mage or a tauren, but there is an orc there and other stuff like that.
People do these things for fun, they have fun making the costumes and they have fun showing them off.
It's the same as some people who like to trick out their car and go to car-shows to show it off to other people who share their interests.

And it's the same as going to a Renn Faire in costume.
