OP is right and its not about rewards, but about ArenaNet future way. From HoM we can clearly see that they dont care about PvPers anymore. From core GW campaign things are going only worse for PvPers (and all that want some challange even in PvE) EotN is a joke and spit into a face.
Even GW1 is easy as hell right now with all PvE skills and I still dont get why in MMO game there are Heroes? I can play single-player for such experience. I dont even talk about that easy (normal) mode they put in so every dumb person can solo all content with hands in the ass.
HoM for GW2 is only next logical step and we can see that GW2 will not be GW anymore, but more like GWoW. PvE game for casual players... thats about it.
PS: Why PvP players shouldnt get some nice looking items to use in GW2 GvG? I was proud to wear nice weapons and black armor in GW1.
Why there are heroes? You will rather beg/wait for hours to do 1 quest? BEcosue majority people "outlvled it" ? Thats the reason lvl based games sucked. Grind zone to x lvl move to next and repeat.
I think he's saying that he's so infinitely cool that he can solo all content on HM without heroes or henchmen. Of course, he's FOS, so he's just vomiting up a few excuses to bitch about GW and GW2 being primarily PvE games. More of the same.

You must be absolutely loving the fact that GW2 is going completely away from the quest grind and level grind then, as we all are.

Based on their leveling curve I can probably hit max level in WoW at similar speed right now as in GW2. Also quest grinding and dynamic events grinding aren't really that different.
And before you try to argue it, there are multiple ways of leveling in other mmorpgs as well, you don't even have to do a single quest in WoW if you don't want to.

Yes, or at least the same time as you did in Vanilla Wow. But it will feel somewhat faster since the last few levels wont feel forever. But there is a certain time leveling should take and still be fun. Wow and many other games have that right already, maybe not perfect but close at least.
But quests and dynamic events are very different. At least I always have a almost full quest log and are doing parts of different quests all the time. With dynamic quests you either act fast or whatever bad that happens when the event fails will happen.
There are advantages to dynamic events, like the fact that I probably forgot what most of those quests are about. And no one tells you exactly how to do things.
And yes, there are multiple ways to level in Wow and similar games too. You can quest grind, mob grind or run dungeons.
In GW2 there is quest grind (personal story), PvP (the mist, you are supposed to be able to do all your leveling there), dynamic events, mob grinding and dungeons.
More is better when we talk about things like this and it is good that GW2 have more ways. And BTW, I think you have to lock your XP if you plan to do every quest in Wow, there must be a few thousands and leveling is pretty fast now.

Firstly they added Hard mode, normal mode was the standard before and hard mode was only available after beating the campaign in normal mode once it was added.
If you take a look at the rewards there are 6 PvP titles that in addition to the linked account that everyone gets would put you at 11 points in honor just for doing the PvP only. That counts for over 1/3rd of the rewards you get (from 1-30) just for doing PvP and being good at it. Now add that anyone can train a pet and put that in, as well as MOX is a free hero just for owning all the games so that's 2 more points without really having to PvE. Lastly I have no idea if you get minipet bdays on PvP only characters but assuming you just created 6 characters around release and received their bday minipets you would have another 6 points quite easily just from minipets.
So without even doing PvE content you can get about 2/3rds of the rewards for the HOM. In addition with the money you made from being good at PvP you could easily buy your way to the 30/50 mark on the HOM calculator without having to grind through any PvE content. That seems quite reasonable to me.
My kid lost the pet to some swindler. I had to take a new one and bring it to lvl 20. No real problem, just some hours of grind. When I got to the hall, it wouldnt recognize it for some reason (maybe a bug, or maybe I'm missing something). How ever I did not try it any more.
Next it wouldnt accept MOX. This must be a bug.
Any ways I run some silly "challenge mission" (with the pet on my ele to lvl it), and guess what, after 2 hours of this silly grind I got 3 points for heros. Now I do compare this with the 100's hours I spent GVGing while getting nothing at all. This does not sum up in my book.
In MMO there is a thing called balance. When there is no balance the game goes down fast. Here we have a clear view of imbalance, when mokkery GVG Vs NPCS gives you points while 100 times more real GVG Vs real people doesnt.

I can't really speak for the bugs you ran into. I don't know of anyone else personally that had any problem adding their pet, rare pet, or MOX hero, or anything else for that matter. That can definitely be discouraging so I feel ya there.
On the topic of the hero armor, I agree that's an easy way to get points at least the two in Nightfall that I've done. Keep in mind though a lot of the PvE hom pts feel just as grindy as the PvP alternative. I will personally never get the majority of the titles for things like vanquisher, master of the north, wisdom, treasure hunter, etc. they just require a huge time or $$ investment that does not make sense for me. Luckliy I'm at 26 and can buy my way to 30 right now if I wanted to so I'm looking pretty good. I have a friend that just started playing GW about 3 weeks ago at a fairly casual pace with me and he's up to about 15 pts so far. Yes he is knocking off the easy ones on the hom but I have no doubt he can hit 30 before GW2 comes out.
Realistically though if you really care about the hom rewards which mainly benefit PvE play, then it won't kill you to do a few of the easier PvE pts to supplement the pts you have from pvp and get to 30 quite easily still. Is it completely fair? Nope. But even for people that started playing GW late and don't have the benefit of minipet bdays it probably doesn't feel fair for them either as that's 6-8 easy pts before GW2 releases.
Anyone that really cares that much about getting all the rewards for 30 pts will just have to be willing to put in some time in a few mildly grindy activities. The good news is that the choice is yours and there is plenty of time still to do it.
After 4 years of playing PVP in GW + doing all the different PVE missions, I've entered this "hall".
Well, I got 10 points out of 50. That is how Anet appriciate their PVP gamers.
All my GVGs amount to practicaly nothing.
My Hero fights and my Team-arena and random arena amount to a few points.
On the other hand any PVEer doing one pseudo GVG VS NPCS can place his hero there and get more points for his 10 minute effort than all those hours I spent GVGing.
I suppose that is what Anet thinks of PVPers and how they position themself for GW2.
It's a shame, I liked GW alot and have so much fun there, but GW2 does not look like going the same way.
Why whine about it ? You still have plenty time to catch up with the pve points, in fact pvp is one of the hardest, i don't think i'll ever get those 3 points from pvp... the game won't be released any time soon .. and in fact.. even after it is released you can still come back to GW1 and finish whatever you were missing...

Robert you're right. Have a cookie.
Eat me!
Please dont make this a WoW vs GW...
Ready for GW2!!!
