Hey i started a thread about NcSoft information about Guild Wars 2 and B&S. I provided links to the source, Ncsoft were the ones being interviewed. We all know ArenaNet said they will tell us when it's released but NcSoft still has some power over them. Some people probably wanted to know this.
But no the mods deleted my thread and said it was false information...it's still information and if it comes from Ncsoft it should be trustworthy. The date could possibly change but right now they have said 2012.
What do you think we should do with these mods?
Edit: Now i got banned because i made new threads, when they didn't get i had the right to make a thread about that information. Don't get their intellect level, must be really low.

While it's likely that the news posted on mmosite is incorrect or at least mistaken, I feel for you about the mods. Unfortunately a large majority of them don't even follow their own rules. The admins are a bit better but it's ridiculous compared to how Guild Wars Guru was maintained. They allow people to clearly troll or resort to personal attacks while the mods delete posts criticizing the moderation team in the least bit for this reason, while the rest of their post is on topic.
The other day they deleted a whole thread whose purpose was thanking Anet for their work on the game instead of the pointless complaining (nothing constructive about it at all) posts within it. I hardly go on the forums anymore except to check for news because the amount of "I'm entitled to everything" posts are ridiculous. I miss Guild Wars's old community.
Ye i was first one who posted that source from mmosite on gw2guru and as soon it was opened, my topic got deleted. Then i just gave up.
It'll be interesting to read that interview, if it looks legit i'll post it in the TA sub forum. (the news forum is actually limited to official arenanet and a select source of websites, but they need to make it clearer) The (main forum, since each moderator can only change certain areas of the forums) mods do occasionally delete posts which don't seem to have had any ill effects but leave flames too. But we are all human i guess.
EDIT: on reading the article it definitely does NOT class as news, so if placed in the news sub-forum it will have been deleted. The article is rife with general statements and most importantly that it directly conflicts the NCSoft west meeting calls. Overall i say it's BS made to generate web page views. Thankfully
They keep deleting my posts over there too and it's really pissing me off.
Ever since those curse admins showed up the moderation has been bad. If you have anything to say that's not kissing anets ass then it gets deleted. Harsh criticism is not acceptable over there unless the vast majority agrees and voices a word on it too. 'Bout ready to wash my hands of guru.
I was not aware of admins outside of guild wars 2 guru actually being able to perform moderation duties. It's most strange. I tend to spend most of my time in the technical support forum though so it may have escaped my notice.
Curse bought out GW2Guru or something a few months back and is now under new admins and several regulars there are now moderators for some god awful reason.
It's a mess. I really dislike curse.
As for the first part i can't say much as i didn't notice any real admin changes, but promoting regulars to moderators isn't a bad thing as long as those given power use it correctly and help the community. Admittedly the deletion of the mmosite 'news' posts are a bad thing, as the news should be allowed to be ripped apart from the sensationalist bs it is (let's face it, if it were true everyone would be posting it by now).
The post is quite happily sitting in the tyrian assembly anyway now.
EDIT: or not, seems stupid to delete threads about this when one could very easily prevent the further creation of them. The mods are just making their work harder.
mmm, I'm not sure why you think you had the right to make a thread about something as it's the owner of the forum that defines the participant's rights.
Also, it depends on what you were actually trying to say/prove and how you were trying to say/prove it.

I don't believe for a second that this game will not be released until 2012.
They're too far along in developement. I give it 6 months.
Mods will be mods, everywhere.
It'll be released when it's ready, play something else in the meantime. I don't want them to be pressured to release early, i would rather wait another year for a more polished game.
Archlinux ftw
Thanks for the headsup, knowing that I won't touch the site. Regardless of the op being right or wrong, I simply don't like Curse due to some nasty little issues they've had in the past.
Al Capowned is probably the one which was deleting your threads as he usually does that, he gets pissed time from time and gets really volatile about some things...
But I dont believe in mmosite either, mmosite dont have many credibility due to a large number of sensasionalistic fake or misunderstood posts of their part
I will only believe if a site like ten ton hammer or even mmorpg.com posts about it with proofs about what they are saying

You know, moderation hasn't changed since Curse took over. Same mods, same style, same everything. Kvinna joined and is active, shes been good. And yes, new mods have been added. From the userbase, where else are they going to get them? Lets see, King's Quest was added. He mods QnA (he answers over half the questions) and Madness Incarnate. Corsair was added recently as well. Primordus Visions and Vigil Academy. He has done good work in PV, and maybe a little heavy handed in VA. Naut is the most recent addition. Mods PV and News. Haven't seen him do much. There have been literally NO changes other than some additional staff after Curse gained ownership.
Also, the moderation is almost exactly the same on Guru1 as Guru2, you can't praise one and hate the other.

I concur. I love gw2guru and I really appreciate that the moderation is a bit heavy handed sometimes (definitely not a curse thing). I feel it keeps the actual discussions people have about actual information pretty focused, and it keeps people from going all drama queen all over everyone else (usually). Besides, we come here for that don't we?
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.
Forums all have their own quirks, but GW2guru is really against freedom of speech in general and they only want people there that will glorify the game.
I've also had an admin there look into my personal hidden information to try and stalk me out for their personal vendetta.
Anyway, the game is indeed looking to be a 2012 release.
I think the OP reminds me of a player cautioned by a ref in a game and mouthing-back. Now you have to respect the ref for a few things:
a) Doing a tough job
b) Using their own interpretation as well as adhering to rules of conduct/spirit of the game etc et al.
c) Trying to keep the peace when ppl's adrenaline/aggro/passions take over from their pre-frontals!
Sure, the ref can be wrong, but is always right after they blow the whistle and further cards will be shown!
As to this incident: That information is baseless; the speculation could easily spiral out of hand what with so much expectation and anticipation to manage... seriously the mods probably did the best thing possible. Alternatively if you don't like that suggestion, you could make a thread without the sensationalism and add reportage of fact and lead others to the news/report to speculate on their own terms?
But bad-mouthing others reminds me of that EA Louse debacle, going so far as to trying to bring down bioware's SWTOR as well as Mythic-WAR. Talk about personal crusades!

The mods and 2 of the 3 active admins are all guru. Pre-curse. The only changes have been in server stability and that the forum is switching from VBulletin to IPB. As a whole, stability has improved. Its like people writing off ArenaNet/Guild Wars 2 because NCSoft is producing the game. GW2G is still GW2G. The only change in moderation style that I've seen is that mods are not supposed to swear in the #gwg IRC channel.

IMO, theres no use changing the barrel when all the apples inside are rotten. I've had very bad experience with Guru admin from the very earliest of days. They have no consistent policy or ethics to what what they do, its all very arbitrary; always has been, so this is just old news for me. Thats why I'm here and not there.
ive been playing since beta and always found guru to be a great hub for trading and help for fighting animasl. now these curse admins come and RUIN THE WHOLE PLACE >:(
i boycott now since i got 10 infractions for trying to give my opiniun and got banned. i hope those jerks are happy bc they arent getting more money and i pmed the admins to refund my money for gw
i hate the new mods i just got banned on my alt
If GW2 is releasing in 2012 that would suck. it still would give me time to play TOR and Rift perhaps which is still good :P
but 2012 for GW2 seems too far for some reason. but I dont doubt that for B&S
