I know that many of you become upset (including me) after Relevations of Gipat patch, Gpotato and AN see how mutch potencial-population has this game and go straitgh to the point of making money, but know things have changed tha game gives you all that you need to play free ppl are coming back fresh patches are coming sutch us pvp patch and i believe that Gpotato and AN have learn their lesson.
I wouldn't count on them learning much of anything. The game is still pretty much dead, most of the once thriving population is gone for good, no matter what they do. You can't blattantly lie to your customers, lie some more, and then lie some more again and expect everyone to just forgive you. That's not how it works, the damage is done.
Edit: typo
Waiting for Guild Wars 2, and maybe SWTOR until that time...
Once a game gets a bad rep, that's basically it. In the gaming world, word of mouth between players is a very strong medium. When word got out about how this game was a huge ripoff with the massively overpriced cash shop and game changes requiring its use, that was it: damage done.
It is very hard for any game to recover from something like that. Twice as much if it is a F2P, since those have the historically crappy reps of F2P to overcome in the first place.
All in all, it is just another F2P that failed to succeed with the NA/EU audience. Just one of many, and not that worthy of further attention.
perfect said. i agree 100% . whoever was responsible for the cash shop disaster a few month ago killed this game and ruined the investments. i feel exactly as you described, i had fun played in beta then suddenly the greedy cash shop opening.
for me it felt like "Yo US and Europeans give us all your money, you have to much of it, and you can play !"
Originally posted by withintempt People still play this game because we stuck with it for a long time and see that it's one of the best f2p MMO's on the f2p market and that's something that anyoen who has played the game for a long time can deny. A person above complained about the incense necessity? The issue was addressed with last patch where it's free now. I also don't see how anyone can make the arguement for f2p games of "someone had to pay for the cs items in the first place". Imagine a f2p game with no CS items in the game, most of the end game content cannot be played, so that's not knowing well how f2p games work. We see that every patch brings cool stuff to the table. It doesn't sound like you guys follow it but there's supposed to be a big pvp update which is what lots of end game players have been waiting for, so we're all juice for that next month. You can't tell me that there are than many high quality f2p games out there that beats Allods in graphics, gameplay, UI, features though....
Had they actually stuck with the lead they had in graphics, gameplay, UI and features I'm pretty sure the game would be thriving. If they had tried a model more like DDO or LotRO, I feel it would be the dominant F2P game in the U.S. and Europe. Now, no matter what they do, it's run by, well, thieves. I'm not sure how they managed that, since the game was free to play, but they did.
*edit* Had they switched to a subscription model instead of their stupid F2P model, they would still be thriving.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

True, killed by greedy cash shop while still in beta, sums it up quite nicely.
