K dude really you got it all wrong every MMO steals something from other MMO's so your retarded for even saying that and graphics over gameplay like for example AoC (Age of Conan) has great graphics but its too shallow id rather play a game with the worst graphics in the world but if they gameplay is good well then its the gest game ever. And the second closest game to WoW's subs is probably GW which i heard had 3 million. So you got 12 million people your going to run into tons of retards but if you find the right guild it makes for the best game ever Blizzard always produces quality games and expansions. And think about this one of Cata's zones is so big it has three sub divsions almost as big as borean tundra so your opinion makes no sense

WoW is much better than it was before, Blizzard have really spent their time at something good. Everything looks fresh and new and graphic is stunning!  Races starter areas seperated and remade, troll is really good now,how i imagined 5 years ago. The new quests are better but something i would like to see is dynamic Events!

Want to win the alienware so i can play at ultra high settings, but i could dream haha.

By the way i was sad that outland was not remade.

Following the overly edited WoW lore, the other floating islands of Outland is for another expansion.  There are old world heroes that has been missing since the collapse of Draenor.  The Burning Legion's leaders are still alive.  Thrall as the new guardian makes it more obvious the Burning Legion is coming back for more.

My guild wants me to comeback... but the addiction... must... stay... strong.

They have made the old world look amazing using their updated engines and added amazing quests all over Azeroth that are much more enjoyable than the older quests were for new players.

Everything from vehicles to phasing has been added to Azeroth, one of my favorite examples is the end quest in Stonetalon Mountains where you watch as a bomb is thrown over a village and completely destroys the city via phasing. And the best part of it all is that none of these changes are even apart of the Cataclysm expansion. We have five new lvl 80-85 zones, all of which are larger than any zone in Northrend, along with more raid content than ever before, two new BG's and much more that are apart of the new expansion, so don't be too quick to criticize Blizzard for spending too much time on updating the old world when they have delivered the same amount of great content they do every expansion even without including the amazing work they put into updating the out of date part of the game. This is a expansion with a cherry on top. And i for one am grateful for the changes to the old world :D

I really must be missing something because the graphics don't look that updated to me . The quests in most areas seam the same or similar as well . It is a fresh lick of paint but it seams a very thin coating to me The old world revamp is definatly welcome but its on the scale of a major patch ( which is what we've seen in the shattering today ) But this makes me wonder what exactly the xpac itself will bring to the table . 5 levels some new bgs . a few endgame areas and battlegrounds etc . Sorry to be a doubting Thomas but this to me does not look like its building upto be the expasnion and reset I'd been hoping for . I'm quite disapointed was looking forward to this but I really can't see where all the works gone into it  thus far . But as I say too early to really judge .

But I have a bad feeling about this .

You just described whats been in every expansion ever so far, i'm not sure what you were hoping for, but this isn't a new game. Its still the same old wow with new raids, new levels, and new zones. Hey, they even threw in a redone Azeroth for us. Given that you are fully aware of whats being added to the game, and that you know its the same content thats always been added to the game, i assume you just never liked any of wow's expansions before, which is fine. But don't criticize it for not adding enough content, when the five new lvl 80-85 zones combines are larger than Northrend, and have virtually added more content in every aspect of the game than in any other expansion so far, especially in the number of raids they added. So as many said before, it comes down to this, if you hated wow before you'll hate it now, if you loved it before you'll love it even more now.

Good thing I did not buy that expansion.  I guess I should thank Blizzard for saving me money.

Your choice .... but ... picture your server that has many high level chars on it who basically live in dal.  now enters a hoard of low levels worgans, trolls, gnomes and goblins ... plus those new class race combos.    We all know how convienient to park our low levels in Dal.   Convenient portals for both factions.  Get anywhere in a flash.  Pictire dal  now ... full of alts and 80's ... not crowded .... full .. be a line at the portals.  And the new chars will miss a lot of the new terrain as well.

    Dalaran Lag anyone?

As to the talent reset I LOVE it much better talents,  much better arranged. No need for elitest jerks to figure it out for you ... way cool.

Good luck with your new game,

I played EvE for 2.5 years.  The only thing hard about it was trying to stay awake while you waited for the other guys to show up or watch your ship endlessly warp from gate to gate .. or deal with the hundreds of spreadsheets for parts cargo ships and a zillion other things.

My sister talked me into doing a demo of LOTRO ... I thought it kinda sucked but went on to read a couple reviews.  A couple of clowns on UTube said LOTRO was just a poor copy of WoW.  (WoW whats that ?.... never heard of it) Thinking of my sister I downloaded a trial for wow.

Three days later I canceled my sub in  EvE ,,, keft char with 1.5 billion isk , about 75 ships   and i think 50 mil skill points (I know they must bre much higher now)

I have never had so much fun in a game or met so many interesting people ... I never looked back.

Honestly everytime a new expansion, bigger patch is on the horizon you'll get tons of "new posters" praising it exactly the same way as Blizzard's devs are doing it. So its obvious, Blizzard has tons of viral marketers hyping their game. Only 5 ultra fast paced levels is nothing for an expansion worth 39,90 $. Devs are crazy and lazsy if they honestly believe, people would reroll just because they updated (streamlined, watered down) quests.

I also read somewhere that they[object Window]ve removed all former open world raid bosses how ****** stupid is that?! How about some good old schoool guild races? Why not remove stupid crap like gating, [object Window]hardmodes[object Window] and only make one progression mode like it used to be in the better raiddays? Oh yeah because its expensive and Activision does want to please shareholders not gamers..

All in all the better MMORPGs will take advantage of this, cause the easymode/fast paced/instant gratification crowd and annoying kids will soon be gone and hopefully this time forever. Thats why I[object Window]m really really looking forward to the Cataclysm launch. Blizzard[object Window]s new philosophy is so flawed in many ways, MMORPGs are about the setting not the story AND exploration something the stupid fly everywhere, everytime will soon kill..

    [object Window]

Communities in other MMORPGs will benefit heavily :-)

We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!

"Everything you're bitching about is wrong. People don't have the time to invest in corpse runs, impossible zones, or long winded quests. Sometimes, they just want to pop on and play."
"Then maybe MMORPGs aren't for you."

Yes, I agree with you...WoW sucks -- 12 million WoW players worldwide have shit for brains for subscribing to the game

Here is one reason of the reasons why this game sucks so badly:

Eh more quests, more achievement, and more items to collect. The more things change the more they stay the same. I'll pass on this one. Although I will say the McDonalds of MMORPGs has aged well, hopefully people won't burn through everything in 3 months.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Not true. They probably removed the old ones and replaced em.

People are screaming Blizz's praises about how "awesome" Orgrimmar looks now.  It looks like all the other Northrend Horde cities, so I don't see what the big deal is, except it has a huge crater in the middle.

Classes and class mechanics have changed so drastically that seasoned players are leaving in huge numbers.  They did this to encourage you to, once again, roll a new toon!  I have max levels of everything you can make.  Two new races aren't going to freshen it up for me. BFD.

Changing the landscape and making me run around a few new Alliance cities in the Horde areas is fun for about the first three hours....and then it's the same-old, same-old.  Grind out those achievements, level and raid the same crap over and over and over.

I'm happy for Blizz and for their fanbois.  Yay Blizz.

Here is one reason of the reasons why this game sucks so badly:

I think you better check your figures.  6 million of that figure is from China, whose servers have been shut down for legal reasons.  Blizz claims 11.5, not 12 million, so minus the 6 million players in China, that makes 5.5 million.

Less 1/3 of that leaving because of huge class mechanic changes, makes roughly 4 million players.  That's a lot, I agree, but it's not 12 million anymore.

I don't know what server you are on, nor do I care.  80% of my guild left and we are an end-game guild.  9 of the people I know in real life have quit and have not come back.

If you just started playing the game, you'll probably like the changes.  If however, you've been playing the game more than 3 years, you're probably one of the people who quit.

Personally, I thought I was going to soil myself when I logged into the new world for the first time. Tirisfal is way more epic now, not boring and grey any more. Stonetalon has received a great upgrade and the quests are way more fun and varying than before. And as for the Ashenvale quests...they were actually pretty good, considering the fact that I had loathed even the thought of entering the place for its depressingly empty and boring areas, and its infuriating array of roots and hills that never failed to draw profanities. Thumbs up to Blizzard. they timed it well.

I'm really sick of the whole "There's a massive fanbase for X", or "Y would be a WoW-killer if it just had a chance".

There is no massive conspiracy waiting in the MMO playerbase.

There are no "sleeper-agent fans" waiting to convert once the X or Y is unleashed on the world.

Now chat will be full of:

Elitist idiot #1:  "Remember zone x and how it was blah this and blah that?  I liked zone x so much better cataclysm.  All these noobs missed out."

Elitist idiot #2:  "yeah, it was great.  These newfags have no idea."

The old game will be glorified by an elitist club of vets that dis the changes, brag about the old game (although they'll keep paying to play if only to spend hours creating new ways of making themselves seem important) and put down everyone that didn't experience it.

The overhauled quests are really good, i had a good laugh when i saw Horatio from CSI Miami in Westfall and John J. Rambo in Redrigde :P. From what i heard the quests in Azshara and Stonetalon are amazing too.

I really enjoy the new questing experince, never liked doing a twink because the leveling in Azeroth was so damn boring. I remember my horror with pushing my Blood Elf paladin on BC release, after that i pretty much never made a attempt to reroll.
