Didn't think much of either fights.Aion was just a mess of players all spamming at the mob and TERA was awful, the one guy was literally walking right through the mob and it also looked like no control just two people spamming their attacks at the mob.
I just looked at the other thread as well, some guy showed screenshots of his guildleves fights and it showed 4 attacks and dead, not much to get excited about in a 4 attack fight.I am afraid there is lesss tactics and skill involved in combat anymore, just spam away and collect your loot.TERA's combat although looks easier ,does look more realistic in the animations and speed. The players in Aion look PUNY way to small to actually enjoy looking at anything.
No wonder i just can't get into any of these games anymore,my favorite part is the combat and it is just done so poorly that i would not find any enjoyment in it,I'd rather go play UT99 and have some real thinking combat.
To answer your question,no i doubt TERA will match it ,as it looks like TERA from other movies i have watched is going to basically be easy mode, however being better than TERA is not really saying much. The animations in Aion are dreadfully fast, they don't even look realistic, they look like 5 frames of animation made up those swings, when should be 10-20.The gear also looks bad,it looks like something out of Silkroad online.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I keep seeing over and over again in TERA's boss fights; ranged characters and healers have to do nothing but stand there spamming 1,2,3 for 90%+ of the fight.
Replace the words TERA with AION.
Rangers= Swift shot chain, stunning shot chain, mau form. 3 buttons at most.
Clerics = Blessed shield, 2 aoe heals, flash of recovery, maybe a dispell here and there. Pretty much 100% of all fights.
...and all while 20-23m away. I also believe that some chanters can solo some world bosses with just recovery spell.
you must have done some low lvl bosses then
boss spawns... aoe skills that do tons of dmg and cc... random aggro change... random target skills... random adds from environment... invincibility modes that you need to do certains things to get him out of
and to top it off, most of the best bosses are in pvp zones
Yeah i guess the level 40 world bosses are low level (those I mention were the ones soloed by chanters). The only instance bosses that are uniquely challenging maybe would be the Divine Fort Instance(( maybe due to the cooridination of an additional group)) and Beshmidir Temple. Other than that all the boss fights usually diminishes to tanking them in the "Awesome spot," the spot that avoids all those Random Aoes and so forth. Even Menotios in the abyss is dragged underneath a building and then punished. Random adds, we anhilate completely with out a sweat.
It may have been fun when people first encounted the bosses but It's just not that fun anymore since people figure out and establish the norm of some boss encounters. The 2,1 update made things drastically easier too. You can pug people and clear out Stormwing like nothing.
lv 40 world boss? kraterr? chanter with good gears will tank it, but certainly not solo it
menotios? only thing hard about it is if asmos put up a resistance
fortress? ya it's easy with 5 alliances
im talking about real bosses like tahabata or bollvig

The funny thing is we are comparing Aion to a game that not even out. I'm sure that when it comes out the battles will be epic but people will find a way to make the battles easier....it always happpens. I for one have found a lot of enjoyment from some of the boss battles in Aion. I'm sure there will be and equal or better enjoyment out of Tera...we will have to try it first lol.
Well its very hard to compare boss fight in an automatical aiming system and in a manual aiming system.
In automated aiming, everything is about skills, the number of skill is important, and everything is in the timing, because there is literally nothing else to do for the player but this skills lunching and their timing.
But in a fps like setting you can't have a lot of skills, because the player already have a lot of work to do just to aim and position his character properly, not to add the fact a lot of his fingers are already and contently in use, and they are not much left to push those skills buttons. So player aiming system mean few skills, so it kind of feel at the oposite.
This make it impossible to compare, especially when it come to boss fight, which are long and suposedly demanding from a player concentration point of view. One system will ask you to have a good timing and choice of skill, the other will ask you to have fluid movement and strikes.
Its just an other style of gaming thats all, both can be very interesting and chalanging, or shallow and repetitive. It just depend how they set their system really, rather than how this system is. Some fps game are just boring as fuck, some auto target mmo have very nice an active combat systems.
So i won't follow the fps aiming = entretaining combat system, because its false, totally false.
But non the less i think fps aiming is far better if well done, its more engaging, and give a better sense of being in your character since your moves really mean something in the combat. So its more about the sensation you have about your character than anything else. Its like jumping, its just very nice to be able to jump, and evade a blow. But this is personal i guess.
Those fights clearly need some work before they could compare to Aion's world boss standards but they seem ok.
Post PvE boss fight opinions / comparasons?
Haha....ahahahahahahaha!

Clearly some people think Aion's PvE will be better for various reasons, no need to close the thread... perhapes you should state what it is about TERA's boss fights you've seen that you feel will make them a better experience.
