I have to agree with this: Earthrise will not make a huge splash when it launches in February. It will have its share of problems that normally plague releases from small studios (bugs, stability, etc.). But, much like Fallen Earth before it, the talented and dedicated staff will turn this interesting player-driven title into a diamond by the end of the year. It will be a niche title, but unlike major releases, it doesn’t aspire to be more than that and its fans will be numerous and rabid like CCP’s in time.

And.. I already regret for typing this.. It might become "better" then EvE.
Mainly because of the combat system.
Anyways.. It would be wierd to think if people thought it would cause
the same amount of movement as a game like Cataclysm or SWTOR.
Yeah as long as it's as deep as EVE but with better combat it will rock.

Dont base your opinion on a video. It was the devs fault that the cam that recorded it couldnt see the mouse.. And thus you have a wrong view of the game.
Besides.. In my opinion, I find the combat in EvE Online not fun at all. So it isnt hard to thrumph that in my opinion.
But I guess it is personal taste.
Tbh just about anything is better then EVE's combat, even the horribad combat we saw in the video.
Free Realms has more fun combat than EVE
and thats just sad lol

EvE's combat is eye-cany.. It looks amazing but its completley boring.. Still, i have fun running a 40man nulsec group.
I think this game is destined to fail.. I wanna like it.. I've been waiting a long time for it, praying for a release date.. And now that its here i'am worried.. There not enough gameplay info or any news on beta testing.. Even Prepetuum had extensive beta testing and i think it has around 10k subs lol.. And that beta video, omg, it dosn't do this game any justice.. It'd be nice to maybe get a beta video of the PvE or some quest in action.. Idk.. I jus have bad feelings about it being rushed.

I have to agree with you on the anything is better than Eve's combat hehe.As far as ER,regardless of whether or not the video showed the mouse or not it looked almost as bad as the video they showed almost 2 years ago so time will only tell if it gets any better in the future.
As for me I wont even think of touching this with a 10 foot stick til they have a trial available.
