Looks like some major improvements in shadows and animations from the last I saw.

That definitely looks better than the last one. It looks more like real game footage than is usually displayed in promo videos. The dual wield melee guys still run like dorks though.
I am more interested about seeing or playing the game than I was before. Hopefully they'll have some more videos and maybe some stories to go with them before release. :-)
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

I'm not sure what you watched but the melee character in the video never even ran so you really couldn't tell.
But yes I do agree, more videos would be nice. I wish this one was shown from a players perspective though so we could see the HUD and how combat works.
I was more excited before I saw this. Quite a lackluster.
Considering it's a trailer you know they only show the best - and if this extremely choppy and laggy way of people running about is the best they could put in a trailer, then I do feel sorry for them. There also seem to be some heavy AA issues when you look at the trees and such. The environment looks interesting but I get the feeling that it might be coded very poorly.
There is some major shadow/texturing flickering going on there, and the jittering of the characters couldnt help but be noticed. It looks like its coming along, but this still looks like it just entered its beta phase, not a game releasing in a few weeks.

I would honestly rather see video and information on a game as it actually stands rather than as the developers hope it will be. I'd rather try the game out knowing it's got some glitches, instead of thinking it's going to run like HL2 and finding out it's got problems.
I could live with the graphical issues if they weren't extreme, but only if the developers made a conscious choice to focus on game play and mechanics instead. Need more information to actually decide.
The dorky melee guys - towards the end of the video, when the three guys are confronting our 'heroes' leaving the little outpost, the melee guy charges up his hand knives and some kind of shield, then he runs a few steps and attacks. Those few steps are the dual hand melee dork run from the first video. I could live with that, but I haven't seen such dorky running since Steven Segal.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
The video is poor overall. Honestly, not much better than the previous one imho. I understand it's and indie studio, but comon. I'm still as cautious as I ever was at venturing into this game with quality concerns, not to mention the high-priced digital down-load price.

Heh, I have, and it's in that same video, the female "jog" animation is terrible : ( Looks better actually running, but the hip-shimmy jog is cringe-worthy. Maybe the boys will enjoy it...
I too much rather see game-play as it is, but it's hard to escape Xerith's point that this does not look like footage from a game a few weeks away from release.
Earthrise had concepts that sounded great on paper, but by the looks of that footage it may be some time (as in months) post-release before they hit their sweet spot. I'll keep an eye on it, and I'd love to be pleasantly surprised at release, but that's looking less likely by the day. Here's hoping they're keeping a few aces up their sleeves.

high priced digital down-load price?
you mean the boxed version on the MHS site that is for EU only?
I'm not gonna dig for it, but it was mentioned that the digital download would be $50
To the US yes but EU it will be 49.99 euro's to me thats £42 which is obscene for a video game hell I've paid less than that for CE's before and recently got the entire Dragon Age Ultimate edition for £25 (steams standard price not sale price)
Looks alright to me. Its a sandbox game, its not meant to be ZOMG ACTIONZ %100 of the time. The melee running is pretty lol though, hopefully it gets changed.
Seriously, lol?! That's funny because I feel bad for the FFXIV crowd.
The animations look a bit better in this video, the video itself was a bit lackluster for a promo video, I can't really say it was better than the first one, the first video gave a better idea of the gameplay and the game mechanics like aiming and targeting. Still seeing some jerkiness in the gameplay. But all that aside, I would buy this game in a heartbeat before I would ever waste money on FFXIV.
Ans no, I am not going to drop $60 on it blindly without being able to try out the beta or get a trial. The concept of this game is very enticing but I am too jaded about MMO's to blindly believe the game is everything it is cracked up to be. Previous MMO letdowns haev taught me this.
Ouch, that still looks quite rough around the edges :< ... clunky animations, shimmering textures and some latency noticable. World looks quite attractive though. Hope they get to pollishing it a lot more before they launch it.
I had a feeling Masthead would release a cheap, poorly produced gameplay video. I wasn't wrong. For those of you who plan on paying legal tender to play this tosh, my condolences go out to you.

Would you pay $67 for it ??
most games are 59.99$ + tax in the US (yes I know mostly console) so ya if I wanna play it, I guess I would
No their not....most mmorpg digital downloads in the US are 49.99.
Edit: And if they've updated their information on pricing, good for them. Stil doesnt make up for Masthead's cheap and uninspiring game-play footage, again.
Improved since the last vid but still much polish is needed, the macro transition was pretty poor but is in many games and yes the female jog is pretty funny, the running on the big guy was pretty good though. In this game though game play is more important.
I think I'll wait for reports before giving it more time, I'm usually more than willing to be the first in but there are quite a few games releasing or beta'ing atm so time is tight for gaming.

Judging from most of yalls replys it seems yall think this video is showing the company is taking the game in the right direction, they just may not have it thier by launch time. As I've said I plan to get this game because of the potential (a very dangerous thing too do I know).
Im hoping that the gameplay will be solid enough at launch that most people will be able to overlook the less important things like animations and graphical glitches until their fixed.

The fps of this video is a bit clumsy but in overall this was better demonstration than the last one

Vid looks crap...
Im sure when Im in the game for real it will be alot better. But theres no way im buying this game on launch.
Gona let all you other suckers test it for me first.

haha, Funny how this comes right from a player that plays FF14
So What Now?

I wish the UI was on however.

one can only wish...
so far "son im dissapoint"
Earthrise girls got some junk in the trunk.
But the vid was pretty underwhelming.
The animations are bad, its like everyone has a stick shoved up their ass while running...
