Nintendo Revolution Video

noobletnooblet Member Posts: 2,274

This is pritty freaking crazy. You'll be able to make games with it(im guessing a simple yet flexible game maker something along the lines of rpgmaker but much more content) and some use of 3d glasses and move in-game by moving yourself. While theres a possibly its fake , with it being so close to E3 this could be completely true.

http://rapidshare.de/files/1741533/Nintendo-ON-Revolution.wmv.html Go to the bottom of the page and click free and then you'll most likely have to wait in line to download it (which should only take around a minute) The actual footage of the rev starts at around 3 minutes in.

Dang it, the site says I have to wait an hour or something:

"You have requested 12652 KB in one hour. If you request a file and get a download-link, your download-counter is increased immediately. This is neccessary in order to give you completely anonymous download-links without strong restrictions. We protect your privacy. In order to finance this webspace, downloads are limited for free-users. This file exceeds your download-limit. Please wait one hour. "

I wanted to at least check it out and see what it looks like (whether it is legit or not). How did it look Xzaro?

I don't believe this at all. I was required to believe too much in order to accept it. Granted, I hope I'm proven wrong, but we shall see. On a side note, the whole helmet/visor thing is the give away that it is fake. Anyone remember Virtual Boy? Nintendo learned its lesson on that one. Games are a shared, not a solo, experience.

Well from what Nintendo has said so far it seems as though this vid is true. But also , people are ready for a change , i mean next gen for xbox360 and ps3 is just improved graphics and the ability to have tons going on at once in game which will lead to some new innovative games. But the revolution has all that going and the ability to play games completely different and revolutionize the genre. I dont think the industry was really ready for the virtual boy because of the limited technology and the fact that people were just getting use to that style of play because it was quite fresh.

Well I keep going back and refreshing it to see whats up but so far I've got nothing. Guess I'll just have to check back every once in awhile. Is there any place someone else can put it up?

Anyways, I've been curious about what Nintendo has had up its sleeve to make the next system so revolutionary. If it is truly something like this I would take it over the PS3 and the Xbox360 any day. Guess we wont know for sure until the coming E3.

Ok, I saw it and I'm skeptic. I dunno if it's real or not. It looked very well done (mostly; there was a few parts that looked kind of wierd, like Mario at the end) and some of its stuff looked a little too sci-fi. Not to say it isn't something I would love to see in the next system, it just seems like it is something still a few years off. But if it is... Then WOW...

I smell BS. I don't think Nintendo would let this video get out before making an official announcement. Ofcourse, there is a posibility of a leak but I'm pretty skeptical. Plus, there's this. No mention of VR technology or wired headsets or anything like that. Maybe I'm wrong on this one but I'm gonna get the 'ol shovel out anyway. Looks like it's gettin kinda deep around here.

Would any company ever make a video of a system if it's not their final form?

"In its final form, Revolution will be about the thickness of three standard DVD cases and only slightly longer. The versatile Revolution will play either horizontally or vertically, allowing the user total flexibility in setting up a gaming session wherever they have a television."

The video was ok, but I don't want to see some digital movie. I want to really see it. So I'm not beleiving it untill E3. Also, that walking senor seems like BS from the video, some of us will be trippin image.

Dude, those of you who believed this don't know anything about the next generation consoles. Haha I can't believe you guys believe it........... this is complete BS. How the hell did Nintendo develop a virtual helmet where you walk around in your room?????????? You're gonna run out of space, and run into your wall. I don't think current technology can make this. You'd need a room with endless space. IF YOU BELIEVED THIS, YOU HAVE NO COMMON SENSE...............

Who says what was shown in the vid isnt capable of being that size? Anyways of course this vid could be fake but at the same time it could be just as easily a taste of what the rev will offer. No one can claim anything until E3 but its fun to speculate.

Innocent until proven guilty. Keep your harsh words in your mouth until E3::::02:: Otherwise this could be some of what the revolution has to offer , you never know.

Exactly, like I said I was pretty skeptic when I saw the video. In fact I'm pretty sure that it was fake. That doesn't mean some of those features wont be part of the Revolution, just parts of that thing seemed a little off. Either way, we're just a few short days away from E3 and all the juicy information that will come from that. Until then, one can only guess what it is going to be like.

Y'know, I'm going to throw this out here.... In the last 15 years, we've seen 5 handhelds (green Screen, color, Advanced, Advanced Sp, DS), 4 different Console (Nintendo 8 bit, SNES, N64, GC) and one unmentionable nightmare (Virtual Boy). Of these, we've seen 4 in the last 5 years. Sony has passed out a total of three systems in six years: PS, PS2 and PSP. Nintento bit their lip when Sony gave them the high and mighty middle finger when they dropped their collaborative idea and went solo, and they've never looked back since. How long has it been since GC? Three years? Their game library is still half that of PS or PS2... What i'm gettin at is they don't think to work on their CURRENT hardware before they spit out something new. This is Vaporware until I see it at E3. I agree they should have learned from the VB disaster ..... maybe Sega should come back.....

Not a chance it's real. I don't know anyone who would even question it being real. Someone is probably skilled in 3ds max or Maya and did it for a school project or just in his spare time. When it first shows the helmet he didn't chamfer the edges on the outside.

To try and salvage the gamecube would be the last mistake Nintendo ever made. The console is currently finding a nice comfy spot next to the Dreamcast and, frankly, that's where it belongs. Don't get me wong. I've enjoyed the Gamecube though I've been pretty disapointed overall.

I remember reading an interview with a Nintendo high muckety muck a few years back. The guy actually said that the future of gaming is not online. He said that gamers want a solitary experience. That's what the GC delivered. Meanwhile, Sony and Microsoft have blazed amazing new trails in online console gaming and have profitd from it. (PC's have been doing it for years, as we all know)

Nintendo needs to let the GC die. They need to forget that it ever existed the same way they have with the virtual boy.

Man, I've gotten way off topic. Maybe i should lay off the beer huh?

I noticed that as well, thats why I didn't beleive it. There is more than 5 errors in that video. I think that Nintendo wouldn't use 3D objects, unless it was made form the actual 3d chip used in the Reveloution.

BTW, I dou't that is the real design becuase Nintendo released the size of it to IGN, and E3 is this month so I dout the would change it. Although nintendo did say they have a secret wireless controler.

It looks like the Nintendo ON is still only in the conceopt phase and most likely not even a working prototype; unless you count virtual boy. Right now as technology stands I dont see this being probable for another few years give or take. However, I do like the idea of having such a system that I play in a fully developed 3D enviroment with my body and senses being the controller.
