please no not another cheese fest easy mmo wiht millions of retards wanting to play it and making it look good when it's really a bad game like that game world of warcraft.
The only thing I can see coming of this, is a desire in the future to not implement modding tools for their future games, heh. They will SHUT this down, the only reason why they haven't responded personally to his website is due to legal reasons I'm sure.

Thats the spirit. Look at the positives.
How can you make a positive out of someone taking a company's modding tool and using it to not only create a completely new game, but one focused on a completely different genre than the mod tool was inteded. You might think it's cool, but he is misusing their tools for something other than modding SC2, without their permission, express or implied, forcing them to deal with him legally at a cost that will be passed down to all of Blizzard's customers. I don't care what his intentions are, the results are inappropriate and could very well have an adverse affect on future game modding.
Activision lawyers acting like a bunch of pedantic fools and showing a total disconnect with the LEGAL modding community surrounding one of their most popular games? What a surprise.
Wow so many have no idea what the SC2 editor is capable of, this is nothing compared to some of the mods created and that can be played right now. http://www.sc2mapster.com/ any thing from tetris, metal slug, RPG's, scrolling shoot'em up's
Blizzard wont shut this down, might request a name change as to not confuse but the guy is not hacking the engine, he is using the official SC2 map/script editor using SC2 resources.
Sadly it looks like neither Activision nor Blizzard are going to support the mod. His videos have been taken down from YouTube on copyright grounds, and there is a rumour that he's about to receive a cease and desist.
An intrepid group of gamers is working on a gargantuan MMO mod project utilizing the Starcraft II builders' tools to create what they hope will turn into World of Starcraft. The team has released a pre-alpha video showing some impressive work featuring the Ghost class. It's pretty cool!
This is a pre-alpha trailer for the unfinished Ghost class in World of Starcraft. By no means is this a finished product. This is merely a proof of concept and progression. No announced release Date. Game by RyanWin. Music by Maverlyn. Winzen Productions is not directly affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment, we're merely using their engine and assets.
either these guys are doomed or blizzard claims the project for themselves
They can not just claim the project. He is simply using stuff that comes with the editor and for the rest all the code is his own. I doubt blizzard has any right to that code at all.
Smart people would have contacrted Blizzard PR deparment and asked if it was OK... This is after all a little bit more than a Mod... This is closer to what used to known as a TC or TGC and that name... Just the name alone would be enough for troubble,
And to be honest he have yet to recive a cease letter... The videos might just as well got cought in some kind of blanket ban by Blizzard.
One of Blizzard's very own videos was taken down due to a copyright claim from Activision, which was later reversed. This may be temporary.
I think this project will be fine, but I don't think you can present it as an independent game. Blizzard doesn't want people thinking there's an actual World of Starcraft coming out, and I can't blame them.
Blizzard should really say what can and can't be done with the mod to avoid a) people wasting their time and b) avoid issues like this.
That sucks but c'mon.. Blizzard = Bobby Kotick = this game will never see the light of time.. IF it ends up being somewhat good it might get players off of WoW and onto SC2 which Blizz dosn't collect a monlthy fee for.

Woah... did you hear that? I think I heard a sinister laugh coming from Blizzard!
Guess your right. According to the develope, blizzard sent copy right notice to him through youtube.

http://www.themmoquest.com - MMO commentary from an overly angry brit. OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED!
I thought they said this isnt going to be an mmo. It will be about as mmo as SCII is.
"I'm sorry but your mmo has been diagnosed with EA and only has X number of days to live."

There is no rumour - Activision has served him a Cease and desist order - http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/01/19/blizzard-vs-the-fan-made-starcraft-mmo/
