Looks horrid, they just stand and shoot and don't move or anything.
I agree and the animations are still terrible.. But the game looks a lot better then the 1st beta video and actually intrigues me a little bit.. guess i cant cast out Earthrise completley yet.
Currently Playing: Rift + Starcraft II + Gears Of War 3 Beta
Honestly, if the game wasn't so far along in developement, it MAY have a good chance. Right now, it doesn't SEEM to offer much. But as it always is, we best just wait for a full blown launch.
You have to keep in mind they are a new indy startup company, they aren't going to have the money to produce a Triple-A title. If you like the premise of the game and what they are trying to create, support it. Once they get some cash together the game will improve drastically.
God knows, we don't need any more damn WOW clones.
I think that the reason why they were all standing still was because they were trying to show it off as a story more than actual real game play. Obviously you wouldnt just stand still and not move in real PVP.
East Carolina University, Computer Science BS, 2011 -------------------- Current game: DAOC
Games played and quit: L2, PlanetSide, RF Online, GuildWars, SWG, COH/COV, Vanguard, LOTRO, WoW, WW2 Online, FFXI, Auto-Assault, EVE Online, ShadowBane, RYL, Rappelz, Last Chaos, Myst Online, POTBS, EQ2, Warhammer Online, AoC, Aion, Champions Online, Star Trek Online, Allods, Darkfall.
I forget the specifics about this game. But..it's not a FPS right? You have to press an ability to do skills and the like? Does it allow movement during that? You know, like spellcasting in other games makes you stand still?
Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

Did you ever play Tabula Rasa?
Earthrise' combat system is very similar - point and shoot.
I thought this was supposed to be post apocalyptic? All I see are fantasy esque green landscapes with some sci fi buildings shoehorned in along with bad animations and player warping.
Its after ww3 couple hundreds years after in a island when people have rebuilt some stuff already, there are ruins in certain areas but since nature has taken over its mostly a tropical setting.

Waiting on: Earthrise
Names: Citio, Goldie, Sportacus
Yeah I think the video was more for show. In the official forums the devs talked about combat and said movement/LoS would be a big factor in combat.
It does baffle me as to why they wouldn't show it though.

i think they did that crap on purpose so the video would look more cinematic.
There was a video release just before this one that had quite a bit movement.

I love the raver with the Glowsticks of DOOM that pop out of his sleeves. We've seen him in both videos now. It must be a really powerful class!
