So the sub fee in US is 15 bucks, and in Europe 15 Euros. Yet- 1 Euro = 1.37 Dollars.  -_-

  • EladiEladi Member UncommonPosts: 1,145

    1.37*15=$20,55

    $15/100*19%vat=$2,85+15=S17,85

    The usual bad practice..

Yea, it sucks for the EU. This is not unique to Earthrise unfortunately.  I cant remember the game, but they were complaining about the same thing.  A shame really.

Assuming the average person working in the U.S. makes the same amount of dollars per hour as the average person in Europe makes in Euros. I see a lot of interest in the cost side of things, but nothing on the side of things where people earn the money.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Pretty much what I expected, but a little more than I hoped for.

Hopefully get a key to the beta (yes, to try it, not to test it), because I paid 39.99/49.99 + monthly sub to enough games just to try them out.

    Yep its the vicious cycle

Developer needs to make high subscription fee so it can make quality better ,

but the subscription fee is to high for its current quality.

If you buy the box for 50€ do you get 1 month to play or will you have to suscribe?

So 65€ for the first  month?

    I hope not!

just wait, it will be F2P in 6 months anyway :)

  • drakes821drakes821 Member UncommonPosts: 535

It comes with 30 days of gametime.

  • fleblikfleblik Member Posts: 41

I don't think they will go free to play very soon, free trial maybe. I'd say they will go a similair path as fallen earth.

For those not pleased with the current state of the game, wait a few months and come back, I am sure it will improve like all other MMOs out there.

There was a discussion thread in the beta forums that was deleted earlier tonight.

There was a discussion about how an upcoming and unfinished MMO would charge the same monthly fee as every other game out there (standard in mmo is 15USD)

Well, thread vanished, someone didn't like to hear their beta testers tell them their game wasn't worth that much, at least now yet.

I feel the same way. I've only been in the beta for 3 weeks and while it has some serious issues, I would still be willing to try the live game for a while...but not if I have to pay $50 in addition to the sub.

An early beta phase game is going to release in a few days..and they ask testers to pay 15 dollars to test it...and to buy the beta game.

The funny thing is...they do that because there are some people that will pay to continue to test the beta game.

I find this amazing...where is the internet police? these crappy small time developers must be stopped..

But still, if they do it...its because there are dumb enough costumers to fall for it.

I'm sorry, but where is this written? I couldnt find anything remotely resembling what you say here. I would love to try the game for 5-15 bucks any day, instead of spending 50 on god knows what.

Don't mind him, he sounds a little upset.

The game is indeed releasing, a retail/digital client (not beta, Mr I-Have-A-Bias), on Feb 4th. It will be 49.99 USD or 49.99 EUR with 14.99 USD/EUR monthly fees.

I'm enjoying the hell out of the game right now, and it's got great changes on the horizon.

do you know if the game will have an open beta or enough beta keys to hand for everyone who wants a bite of the game? Im really not comfortable with buying a game for 50 eur which is raw and underdeveloped

I can say with certainty that there have been 600+ beta keys given out in the last week alone, and I can only assume (with MMORPG.com's giveaway still pending) that there are still many more to go out; so, yes, there will be chances, but for EVERYONE? I don't think so.

As far as being uncomfortable with your purchase, there are several indepth videos out on youtube and such sites detailing the current state of the game, with accompanying reviews. If it helps, I, for one, will be ordering the moment I can on Feb 1st.

I highly doubt you will ever see a free trial or open beta, though.

Average earning in the US are actually way higher than in Europe.. making it even worse.

I highly doubt they'll be seeing my money then... oh well, I was really looking forward to this game years ago...

If you were truly a follower of the game for years, I am certain this little discourse would not have changed your mind.
