A moderator in the official TOR forums even shot down the September rumor, neither defending it nor supporting it but saying to treat it as speculation and that the intended 'launch window' remains as spring 2011. I can't remember the exact thread and I don't have a link, sorry.
I was surprised to see Gamespot release the an article on it as well, as they normally keep their mouths shut until something is an absolute fact.
Yea, I literally just heard about this like 10 mins ago on G4 tv. Sounds sketchy to me bcuz of the lack of info but I honestly don't think this game will be released in spring. I'd rather them take their time with it anyway, there's still much to be revealed about the game
okay so MCV did a follow-up which makes me even more weary of their source and journalism methods. They even take the route of calling people who corrected them on things as Bioware loyalists which made me crack a smile (and not in a good approving way)
Note: how they are still holding on to the idea of a delay and says Bioware confirms it. It's kind of funny though that i didn't see anywhere where this was confirmed. All i saw was the same thing they have been stating before. BW says spring, EA says this year.
Heres the article in it's entirety before they edited it again because of bioware loyalists
Says BioWare's MMO can be profitable with just 500,000 subscribers
Publisher EA has confirmed that BioWare-developed MMO Star Wars: Old Republic will not now release this spring and will instead ship some time in the next fiscal year.
This means it could potentially arrive as late as March 2012, though MCV understands that September 2011 remains EA's target launch date.
The date was exclusively revealed by MCV last week, much to the irritation of many BioWare loyalists who let MCV know exactly how they felt in the comments section.
Speaking to investors following the publication of its Q3 results, CEO John Riccitiello has claimed that the game needs just 500,000 paying subscribers to make a profit.
"500,000 subscribers saw the game is substantially profitable but it's not the kind of thing that we would write home about," he said, according to Seeking Alpha. "Anything north of 1m subscribers is a very profitable business.
Ben even says it's possible it could come out in spring but then goes back to saying it won't, and i guess because of this source they have. If they are right, great for them. But whoa be if they are wrong. I'm sure the tar and feathers are already on standby.
Heres Ben's retort, (hes the writer btw of the article)
I know taking EA's investor call at face value the game COULD be released this spring. But it won't, as it's currently scheduled for September. Of course, this might change, but if it does it's far more likely to be for a later date than an earlier one. Sorry!
I used to be neutral to this guy but now i'm disliking him more and more. Not because of the possible pushback, heck that can happen. You don't get into this industry without knowing that, or at least shouldn't. It's the superiority tone of his comment posts about how hes right and everyone else is wrong, regardless of what facts are pushed out.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

its because he can bank on it
1) swtor gets pushed back he gets to say "told you"
2) swtor doesn't get pushed back (spring) and we're all too excited and interested about the game to go back and say "you!"
September is looking likely right about now. Big beta in July with minor fixes and tweaks in August. Then assuming there are no major problems, they get it out the door in September. Hopefully.
but seriously.. september would be pretty cool. and with the possible "leak" that went around the online stores recently this may have some merit. but... ill believe it when i see it.
